Was it just me that didn't know this?! Feels particularly useful on an iPhone where the full stop seems to be in a different page of the menu. Too excited about this!

Oh. Brilliant. I sound very serious but I actually love it. Grin Thanks for sharing OP.

How. Did. I. Not. Know. This!

Southlandssue · 21/05/2021 07:26

I assume you all know about the swoosh typing?

choosername1234 · 21/05/2021 07:54

I have set my iPhone so that it takes a screen shot if I tap the back on the phone 3 time, very useful.

Hazyjinty · 21/05/2021 08:04

Trying. It wow.

Tangledtresses · 21/05/2021 08:20

Hi. Great thanks.

blackheartsgirl · 21/05/2021 09:10

Doesn't work on my Samsung A12

Bearyhumcrack · 21/05/2021 09:30

You know you can bring the top of the screen down on an iPhone to help with small hands. Just drag the very bottom downwards or if you have a button tap (don't click) on it twice.

peridito · 21/05/2021 10:43

@blackheartsgirl I have a Samsung ( old ) and this worked -
once you've brought a keypad up on messages or whats app or something ,go into settings and it's under "smart typing "

idontlikealdi · 21/05/2021 11:51

How. Did. I. Not. Know. This. ?!?!

blackheartsgirl · 22/05/2021 12:23

Oh. Its. Worked.

Thank you peridito!

Of course I know. But, just for the benefit of me others who might have forgotten, can you just run it by us again? 😉
SheldonesqueTheBstard · 22/05/2021 12:43

Oh. My. God.

I’ve. Been. A. Tit.

And the spacer bar faffery 😍

AlwaysLatte · 22/05/2021 12:44

I didn't know that. Cool. Thank you!

AlwaysLatte · 22/05/2021 12:45

Oh the curser thing too! Excellent!

peridito · 22/05/2021 12:55

I really like the swoosh/swipe approach .I just use my index finger and run (with not too much effort to correctly aim ) over the letters involved in the word I wish to produce . Predictive text still functions and assists .

I'm in my 70's and have only been using a smart phone for a couple of months .I had huge trouble with the keypad .Maybe because I type with one finger and use the pad of my finger tip.Accuracy seems easier if I use the side of my fingertip .I don't use my thumbs .

With the swype method it is so much easier and faster .You may need to enable the function .

Chemenger · 22/05/2021 12:59

This. Is. Amazing.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 22/05/2021 13:03

I’ve just swooshed this.

Get me 🤣

JanuaryJonez · 22/05/2021 13:08

Erm. I've been using this feature for over a decade.

A recent discovery for me is the temperature symbol (18°). If you hold your finger on the zero, it gives you the option of selecting a degree sign as well as a zero.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 22/05/2021 13:16

12°

Ta- daaaaa 🥳

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 22/05/2021 16:30

Wow. Works for me too. Who knew?

My android phone gives me loads of options like that

C give ç and © for example, t gives ™, r gives ® etc

This. Is. Amazing.
