Was it just me that didn't know this?! Feels particularly useful on an iPhone where the full stop seems to be in a different page of the menu. Too excited about this!

I'm not much of a phone person but I can't believe that so many people didn't know that. I can't imagine the time you all must all have been wasting Grin

It doesn't work in all apps for me, I don't remember which but I know I've come across places where it doesn't work

The hold down the space bar thing is only for iPhones I think, it does nothing on my phone

When do you need to move the cursor, I can't picture what that does

cariadlet · 20/05/2021 20:18

Works for me. Didn't think it would on an android. But it does. Full stop is next to spacebar anyway. So no big time saving.

But I really like the tip about moving the cursor. Very excited about that one. Almost tempted to put in a few typos just to see if it makes editing easier.

Didn't need deliberate typos after all cos there were enough accidental ones but editing them was so much easier than normal. Thanks

Lottle · 20/05/2021 20:20

@isolapribby I'm sorry! Works on my android and husbands iPhone. Not sure why you've been left out!

What. How. Did. I. Not. Know. This?

Excitedforxmas · 20/05/2021 20:59

How. Is. This. Possible

opinionminion · 20/05/2021 21:01

Marvellous. Grin

SGChome20 · 20/05/2021 21:03

I. Did. Not. Know. This! Mind. Blown.

VodselForDinner · 20/05/2021 21:04

I’ve always known this. Very handy.

Here’s another iPhone one-

On the calculator, if you mistype a number (so say 2060 when you meant 2040), if you put your finger where the numbers appear and swipe from right to left, it’ll delete the previous digit.

So 2060 becomes 206. Swipe again and you have 20 so just type 40 and you’re back on track.

Ilikecheeseontoast · 20/05/2021 21:05

Works. For. Me. Too! Thanks!

ThorsMistress · 20/05/2021 21:08

This. Is an absolute. Game changer!

RandomMess · 20/05/2021 21:09

Oh. That's great.

Donitta · 20/05/2021 21:10

I thought everyone knew this. And shaking it gives you the option to undo typing.

MoiraNotRuby · 20/05/2021 21:12

Let me see if Samsung does hmm no

SwedishEdith · 20/05/2021 21:15

Oh, this has pissed me off so much about my work iphone - thank you! Works on my Android phone as well but never had to worry about that.

DeathMetalMum · 20/05/2021 21:21

If you have a Samsung you can turn it on. And. Off. In. The. Keyboard. Settings. Same placec you add auto-caps after a full stop.

balzamico · 20/05/2021 21:21

I'm always doing the full stop thing accidentally but the moving the cursor one is going to change my life 😂

cookinahurry · 20/05/2021 21:22

Never knew any of these! More please.....

ToastieSnowy · 20/05/2021 21:23

Well. That’s. Really. Useful. Thanks.

BoneyEm1972 · 20/05/2021 21:24

Testing. This. Works. Amazing. 🎉👍

SpringLoadedJizz · 20/05/2021 21:35

I knew that one ages ago but one I learned a few months ago is that you can scan documents via the Notes app. So much easier for me to scan and email them where necessary now. Smile

Also if you have a typing mistake/autocorrect you always make you can go into general settings, then keyboard and set up text replacement. It's also handy if you never say ducking and autocorrect always changes fucking to ducking for you - you can set it up to autocorrect to fucking instead. Grin (Just watch on the rare times you may actually say the word ducking Grin).

HoollyWugger · 20/05/2021 21:38

On an iPhone, if you want to take a picture of something tall - turn your phone sides and choose the "pano" option and go from bottom to top of whatever you're photographing.

TikTok is the place to learn lots of phone tips!

I. Did. Not. Know.

RickiTarr · 20/05/2021 21:42

Eh? Try. It does!

I haven’t been this happy since someone told me about Ctrl + F in 2001. Grin

RickiTarr · 20/05/2021 21:43
