What really boring crap does your dh try to talk to you about?

Yesterday DH tried to talk to me about stationary gas engines. He seemed suprised when l wasn’t interested.

My friend’s bf used to talk to her about overhead haulage systems.

I am so glad it’s not just my DP who loves to criticise other drivers.
He honestly thinks he’s some kind of expert driver (we won’t mention the 3 crashes ) and that no one else has a clue what they’re doing. He’s forever muttering away about other people’s driving ability and what they’re doing wrong.

My DH is planning to buy a motorhome at the tail end of this year and it will happen but we have been at the planning stage for over 18 months now and its a daily topic of conversation. I cannot find another way to say 'Yes I like the model we have settled on and the bed layout'!!!

I'm single now (so don't have to listen to waffle) ex dp would go on and on about their oil rig progress, what jacket was going in when and where. I would even get fucking videos of them.

Then golf. Blow by blow account of every swing. Sigh

Mine barely ever speaks to me. I wonder which is worse?

Cycling, real life and on TV. Talks about the weather in the country where the race is happening. I could not give a fiddlers fart.

Computer chess. His computer chess programming. Artificial intelligence. History. Astronomy. Science. We have done a lot of walking over lockdown and he can keep up a monologue about some historical event for an hour.
I do absorb some of it and I'm grateful the DC inherited his love of science.

Cars. Big long conversations to try to justify an expensive purchase. I really don't care but want to drive it beforehand.

His work, I don't understand what he does. No amount of explaining will make me understand. It's too complex. Although I do appreciate he is v clever and important 😂

I got a lecture on the circuitry of doorbells that spanned a three day period. My DP (has ASD) is very earnest and just cannot understand why I don’t want to know clog up my brain with such boring details! I try to see his grand explanations as his way of showing me he cares to share things with me.

My late Husband was an aircraft engineer,and used to discuss all the workings within Jumbo Jets to me, and surprisingly I used to be quite interested in all that stuff,and he was quite impressed about my knowledge of all things jet planes after a couple of years.

I never took much notice about his so called top quality tennis and badminton racquets though, !

My OH just doesn’t talk. I’d be glad to have a conversation about anything!!

His audio books. FFS! If I really was interested in the type of books he is listening to or reading, I would read them myself. It's not like I ask or anything. I love discussing books but with my book club people over a glass of wine re a book that we all are reading.

Other than that his conversation is quite interesting and we have a lot in common but those stupid books. Think Sci fi and all that sort of shite.
I adore him though and would never hurt his feelings by saying I am not interested. I just seethe inwardly and make appropriate " oh really" or "right I see" every now and then.
