I've started a new one. Please join us and share the boring and mundane things happening in your world. It will be calming for all.

The tomato plants have been put in an outside container. But I read that below 10 degrees will harm them. It is going down to 6 tonight. So they are in the garage now.

MissConductUS · 24/05/2021 21:20

Thanks Doctor, it's on Netflix, so I've added it to the list.

I just spoke to DH about his physical therapy visit. He has some new exercises to do and the PT wants to transition him from the walker to a cane (stick I think to you Brits) next week.

I am really enjoying All Creatures. Smile

MissC Is it the old All Creatures from the 80s or the recent remake?

The new case of wine from the 12-weekly plan that I accidentally signed up to arrived today. DH and I were on track, although we still have half a bottle of red from the old scheme. I was bored to death of Sainsburys’ selection so the delivered wine makes a refreshing change.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 24/05/2021 21:44

One of my favourite British TV shows is Boardchurch. Don't know if you've seen that one MissConduct? I love how the two main characters talk to each other. My favourite line is when David Tennant's character says to Olivia Coleman's character, in his dour Scottish accent: "I might put you in charge of bollockings from now on, Miller."

It did make me cry though. In fact I think I'm going to watch it again now.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 24/05/2021 21:45

Ooh I found a pic.

Oh my news is that from today we don't have to wear masks indoors, where I live. I feel like I should go shopping somewhere, unmasked, and see how it feels. I think the last time I went in a shop unmasked was late March last year.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/05/2021 22:03

zztop We are still in FFP2 indoors and in some public places.

Notthissticky · 24/05/2021 22:30

Evening all! DS1 and I had cuddles on the sofa when he came back from nursery whilst watching The snail and the whale. It was very precious as it's been a bit of a battle recently. He then let me do bedtime, which lasted all of 5 minutes before he conked outSmile

I have decided how to do the chalkboard wall I am planning on creating. I worked out that I wanted it to be everything and do that perfectly, which just wasn't possible. So back to less is more - floor to ceiling chalkboard paint, with a few adhesive magnetic sheets and empty picture frames for the DC to draw in. I shall use the bit they can't reach for my own creative exploits. Now to find time to do this...

MissConductUS · 24/05/2021 23:29

Sodding, it's the remake, and I only see one season/seven episodes. The old series is only available if I add Britbox as a channel on Amazon prime.

ZZ, I LOVED Broadchurch. It was one of the first British TV shows I watched online. I saw the first two seasons and I see now that Netflix has added a third, so that's going on the list as well.

We are still wearing masks in the stores here, but I think that may be due to change soon.

Notthis, your plans still sound quite ambitious.

I have sent my nephew and his lovely wife a few baby gifts. They created a list on Amazon, which was very helpful. I have a picture of their two year old looking at the baby in his carrier. The look on his face is priceless - "what is this and when is it leaving?". Grin

Got really excited today when I heard about a Swedish midwife who went into labour while helping a mother give birth and then cycled home to give birth. Then I remembered I was listening to a comedy and it was all pretend 🤦🏽‍♀️

Champagneforeveryone · 25/05/2021 00:26

zztop I live very near to where Broadchurch is filmed. I have however, never watched it Confused

I caught up on Call The Midwife tonight. I'm normally hard as nails but have sobbed copiously and enthusiastically through the last two episodes, I can only assume my recent coil fitting has jiggered with my hormones (I was alone apart from DDogs)

However I feel rather liberated by the whole affair, and quite see what hysterical women who hurl themselves into graves get out of it Grin

Portlandia · 25/05/2021 00:45

Wide awake with indigestion, was it that egg sandwich half I ate an hour after dinner? Got to be up at 4am...

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 25/05/2021 05:26

Woke up to no rain and to birdsong

IWanderedLonely · 25/05/2021 07:49

Windy & rainy here again. We're going away in the campervan for the weekend, the forecast is better.
I need to find time to Immac veet my legs before then.

bloodywhitecat · 25/05/2021 08:14

Wet and windy here as well. We are going to take the fosterling and the dog out for a good walk once DH gets back from his blood tests. He is so happy and content since we married, I wish we'd done it sooner. We may have a newborn join us very soon which will be lovely but tiring.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 25/05/2021 08:23

Morning all.
I don't have to do school runs when both DH and one of our older sons are available to do it.
this morning is such an occasion. yay!😁

soddingkitten · 25/05/2021 08:29

I slept really badly last night, tossing and turning. At 2am I realised I am hugely anxious about leaving Sodding home alone when we go away. He is a lockdown kitten so has never been alone overnight. Lovely Neighbour said she’ll look out for him, post reassuring updates and fuss him if he comes in her garden or house. Other catlady neighbour is doing his morning and evening feeds and litter changes. She will also cuddle him. Shutting him in would be safer but he’d be deprived of Shyboy and Lovely Neighbour’s company and his garden parkour. We ruled out a cattery after his vet stay, as he was so freaked out. The vet had to sedate him overnight because he was so distressed. Fret, fret, fret. 🙀

Silkiecats · 25/05/2021 08:41

Dh is going to work. Silkiecat is sitting at his wfh desk looking sad, he said Silkiecat I love you but Silkiecat bit him for going to work.

Squirrel26 · 25/05/2021 09:53

I know someone who (in real life) realised that they were in labour while out for a run. Shock

Listening to someone on Radio 4 who studies why people drown and also competes in triathlons and Iron Man. He sounds like an overachiever.

Silkiecats · 25/05/2021 11:43

DH said he is bringing asparagus quiche, salad, new potatoes and chips back for lunch from his work canteen. He says he is having all the chips. I have warned him that wabbit will try and mug him and block his way.

Spudlet · 25/05/2021 11:43

@Champagneforeveryone A good old weep can be very cathartic sometimes!

I am plotting and scheming at the moment as we will be decorating DS’s bedroom soon. His room is minuscule so this poses a few challenges. We will be getting an IKEA Kura bed, which is a cabin bed but quite low, only 116cm tall, so I’ve been measuring up to see what will fit where. It’s going to be interesting, and unfortunately it looks as though the glider chair may have to go, which will be a bit of a blow as it’s so comfortable! And very handy for midnight cuddles if DS is poorly - he still always wants to snuggle in the rocking chair. Hoping we might still shoehorn it in somewhere.

Notthissticky · 25/05/2021 12:52

@MissConductUS I'm sorry, I promise I shan't be so boastful again😆 Please rest assured that no further practical steps towards home decoration have been taken as I'm nap-trapped and skint until payday on Thursday/ Friday.

Having a lovely quiet day at home with DS2 today. He helped me fold laundry but fell asleep on the job so I'm now on the sofa cuddling him and admiring the piles of clothes everywhere.

When he wakes up I'm calling my mum for a chat and to coordinate gifts for my dad's upcoming birthday. DH's grandfather was admitted to hospital with a suspected heart attack last night so I really need to get out of the house and buy a card.

Ooh, please keep us updated! We live in a teeny tiny flat and DS2 will be going in the spare room when he outgrows the snuzpod. I'm really not sure how to make it work, let alone where I'll dry laundry😬

soddingkitten · 25/05/2021 13:03

Prok belated condolences for your loss. Flowers It is hard at the best of times but more so at the moment when we’ve not had the chance to see loved ones.

MissConductUS · 25/05/2021 13:50

@bloodywhitecat, whose newborn baby may be joining you shortly?

DH is feeling better and is doing a bit of remote work today.

Champagne, it gets harder as they get older. DS's room is a tip. He used to pay his sister $5 to sort it out for him but she is no longer available. I try not to look in there.
