Any ideas? Suddenly find just the two of us are around and would love to watch something interesting and not really just a mindless blonde chic flick. But not too heavy ...

How about something like Ferris Buellers Day off?
I was going to say The Fault in Our Stars - it’s really good, but maybe a bit sad if you don’t want anything heavy.
Or Hunger Games maybe?

Enola Holmes

doadeer · 15/05/2021 20:47

The new Charlie's Angels?
The new jumanji?

At that age I loved Ever after

Thanks all. We loved Enola Holmes. She has seen PP with her friends but we will check out Jumanji and Charlie's Angels.

We have actually just found Cider with Rosie so are giving that a go.

Freaky Friday

RagzReturnsRebooted · 15/05/2021 21:10

DD (11) and I just watched The Woman in the Window. It was quite good.
Enjoyed Enola Holmes, Hunger Games, 10 things I Hate About You, Freaky Friday and the film I can never remember the name of where the girl lives in a funeral home and the boy gets stung to death by bees...

RagzReturnsRebooted · 15/05/2021 21:11

We're also up to season 7 of Call The Midwife and DD loves it.

The Truman Show - watched it with my DP’s 13 year old dd lately and she loved it

WaltzingToWalsingham · 15/05/2021 22:52

@RagzReturnsRebooted The movie where the girl lives in the funeral home and the boy dies after being stung by bees is My Girl (the first one). Despite this rather dubious description, I agree that it is a great film to watch with a 13 year old!

SwimmingOnEggshells · 15/05/2021 22:53

I remember loving Pretty Woman at that age but these days it would be seen as inappropriate

CHISistoast · 15/05/2021 23:11

Mean Girls?
