What to eat with a banana

Surroundedbytime · 14/05/2021 13:22

I have overbought bananas for some reason so thinking of different things to eat them with. I like a banana on its own but also with cream and sugar or chopped with muesli. I also add them to a curry. Oh and banana bread of course. Any more suggestions?

My kids slice them in half longways and spread them with peanut butter. So delicious.

You can make nice cream, whizz up peeled and chopped bananas with a tablespoon or so of nutella or other choc spread, to your taste. Into a freezable container, and into the freezer. You'll need to bring it out to room temp for about half an hour before chiselling it out. I wonder if a swirl of golden syrup whilst whizzing might keep it soft?

With Greek yoghurt and a drizzle of honey for breakfast?

Sliced down the middle, filled with chocolate, wrapped in foil and warmed through? Lovely with ice cream.

Milkshake?

Pancakes with bananas and nutella or maple syrup!

ElderMillennial · 14/05/2021 13:32

I like banana with pancakes or waffles

You can also make pancakes with them but I've never tried that

Can you freeze them either to keep or to try frozen? I remember having frozen banana in the US, think they had nuts and things on, but delicious.

In a Pyrex in the oven with butter, dried fruit, sugar & rum & roast for half an hour.

An egg and a banana mushed together will fry like a pancake and act like a pancake. Then peanut butter or yogurt and fruit/berries to taste

LadyCatStark · 14/05/2021 13:36

Get a piece of foil, add bananas, sprinkle with sugar and put in the oven for 19-15 mins, or on the BBQ.

Peel and freeze - put in a blender and have 'vegan icecream'
