Do you know your blood type?

DH didn’t have a clue but had a blood test at the GP today so asked in passing and was told they don’t have it on your digital records and despite having had two operations last year they don’t know. He’d never thought to ask anyone before.

I always thought mine was the same as both my parents, found out from some paperwork before a surgery it was different.

Neither of us can give blood but maybe if you can you know through that?

I love knowing where my blood goes too. Apparently I have very rare blood. I’m O+ but I have really tiny blood cells or something. Not sure of the exact science, but it means you can give my blood to people with sickle cell anaemia. My the barcode on my letter sometimes sets off an alert when I have checked in to donate, and a medical courier motorbike has been waiting for my blood the moment it’s ready. My blood always goes to sickle cell patients or research, just not always quite so quickly!

Yes but only because I have had children, you find out when pregnant. I wouldn’t have had a clue otherwise.

Same. I wasn't told in either of my pregnancies and I only remember it because they sent me a keyring
