What is more painful then it has a right to be?

I have cerebral palsy with weakness on the right and have plenty of injuries on that side including broken bones. The pain is bad but definitely manageable. I must have banged my left leg, nothing serious some time yesterday and oh god the pain... felt like my right pain broken hip.

When I broke my right hip the doctor couldn’t believe it was broken or I’d be crying with pain - now I understand what she meant if a slight bang hurts this bad.

My less serious answer is paper cuts - how can such a tiny cut hurt like that?

When you get a tiny split in the skin on your finger. And then have to sanitise your hands multiple times a day...

crispychicken12 · 25/04/2021 13:51

@TerrifiedandWorried omg this!!!!

GappyValley · 25/04/2021 13:52

Gosh, you sound like a trooper to cope with all of that.

My less serious answer is those little white head spots right on the edge of your lips or nose
They hurt more than birth to squeeze

When the skin cracks on the edge of your mouth and resolute every time you open it too wide.

crispychicken12 · 25/04/2021 13:53

The weird scabs you get on the inside of your nostril that make it almost impossible to twitch your nose without your eyes watering...

(Hope I'm not the only one who's had this, if so Blush)

Trigeminal neuralgia. No visible cause. Doesnt respond to normal pain killers and hurts so much more than anything else I've been through inc labour, broken bones etc. Known as an suicide disease as many people have committed suicide when they couldnt cope with the pain, or accidentally overdosed on their pain killers trying to numb the pain.

TerrifiedandWorried · 25/04/2021 13:53

We actually now call hand sanitiser "cut finder"!

When you burn that tiny wee knobbly bit, on the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth, by eating too hot pizza. Every, fucking, time.

Seventrees · 25/04/2021 13:55

Stubbed toe. Finger trapped in the car door when someone closes it. Cramp in leg. All AGONY but considered small beer.

YetAnotherHastyNameChange · 25/04/2021 13:56

Cramp in your legs at night. I don’t know if it’s the suddenness of it but it’s the only pain I’ve ever had that has actually made my moan out loud.

CherieBabySpliffUp · 25/04/2021 13:56

Stunning your toe, such a lot of pain for such a small digit!

iklboo · 25/04/2021 13:57

Biting your tongue / inside lip / inside cheek. Then you keep biting it because it's swollen.

CherieBabySpliffUp · 25/04/2021 13:58

Stubbing though I guess stunning it would be pretty painful too Grin

That's really interesting @DrMadelineMaxwell.

I personally would have changed the positions of unprepared childbirth and a fracture. I fainted with the pain when I had a fracture and it was definitely worse for me than childbirth.

doadeer · 25/04/2021 14:00

A mouth ulcer when you eat basically anything but especially acidic... And killer if you have multiple.

And omg tooth problems are agony

romdowa · 25/04/2021 14:00

Every joint in my body can dislocate including my spine and rib cage , 99% of these I relocate myself at home and I also get migraines and have occipital neuralgia but stubbing my toe or a paper cut is absolute hell. Also hyperemesis gravardium is also way worse than any pain I've dealt with. I'd pick pain over contant sickness any day.

Kljnmw3459 · 25/04/2021 14:00

Static electric shocks.

Imnotbent · 25/04/2021 14:01

Oh that pain scale, I didn't know kidney stones were so painful.

I agree and the pain is excruciating. I am very lucky as it has not returned, but will never forget the pain.
theworldsbiggestcrocodile · 25/04/2021 14:04

I banged by ribs yesterday (slipped over on a floor that I'd just mopped 🙄). No bruise but it hurts like an absolute bastard.

Tlollj · 25/04/2021 14:04

My arthritis is worse than childbirth. Because it’s ongoing hurts everyday. Childbirth my longest was 8 hours.

Inthesameboatatmo · 25/04/2021 14:06

Steroid injections in your arse cheek when pregnant as if pregnancy wasnt bad enough, it hurt more than birth

PomegranateQueen · 25/04/2021 14:07

Yes papercuts, especially if you discover them while using hand gel.

Ingrown toenails, such a tiny little part of your body can cause a whole load of pain. Luckily the surgery is almost pain free if you have a good podiatrist.

Interesting- a bruise is higher up the scale than a fracture. I’m so fortunate the things I’ve had are fixable unlike stuff on the list. My right side isn’t as sensitive so for example I’d never test water temperature with my right hand. I can’t imagine the pain if I broke a bone on the left side, definitely wouldn’t be brave.
