Welcome @Mummy0220! I also have a 15 month old. They're hilarious and incredibly annoying all at the same time.

Sorry to hear it's been a rough one, @Chocolatetrifle - but yes, finally some peace Smile time for wine maybe? Or a good hot chocolate...

DS was not down for sleeping tonight, I knew 2 naps would ruin it - we had to do some kind of in and out of the room with lots of screaming and wriggling around and finally after 2 hours of this he finally caved. I'm knackered and ready for bed myself after that...

Hope everyone has a good night, may the sleep odds be ever in your favour

Mummy0220 · 15/05/2021 20:50

@squishymamma that they are. Just took me an hour to get him to sleep 🙄

He has such a little personality as is so cheeky. His favourite game instead of sleeping was holding his dummy over the edge of the cot, smirk at me when I say no then proceed to drop it and giggle 😂 boys

PinkDaydreams · 16/05/2021 07:35

Oh @Mummy0220 I remember my boy playing that 'game' too! He soon stopped when I stopped getting it for him! 😂 Obviously I'd give it him eventually but after a minute or so, just so he realised it wasn't a game and that it was sleep time.

Yesterday was stuck indoors all day but to be honest it was nice having a day of relaxing. We played trains, playmobil, pretend cooking, new reuaseable stickers, new jigsaw puzzles, books, then film and takeaway pizza! A bit naughty getting us all a takeaway for tea but son loved it and we all needed a treat after the full day of rain! :)

Food shopping today then hopefully a trip to the park if the weather stays dry.

Can I ask, does anyone know when the sun is coming back out please??!! I keep looking at pictures from this time last year and we were in the paddling pool with glorious weather.

@Motherofmonsters how is the night weaning going? We have now had 3 nights totally in the cot but she is still v difficult to get back to sleep. She isnt eating much yet and her feeds in the day are usually quick so I'm worried she does actually need the calories...

@MonkeyPuddle thank you for that. We did gradual retreat with our toddler when he was the same age and it worked brilliantly but he was less bothered about feeding....

What's with the rain!!! I'm soooo bored of wet weather!

@Checkingout811 I hope you had an amazing time!

OhToBeASeahorse · 16/05/2021 07:39

@footprintsintheslow oh no the sleep shudders are so heartbreaking! Poor wee girl. How was the night?

Motherofmonsters · 16/05/2021 08:38

@ohtobeaseahorse - I had to abandon it as DD was poorly. Will have to try again when DS has a sleep over or when it's half term. That's good she's getting used to the cot, when I did it last time I had to do lots of back rubbing and singing Moana.

Welcome to those joining us.

It is absolutely tipping it down this morning and DH has been called into work for most the day. Not sure what we will do, probably to much screen time. DS is currently making his way through a whole melon

squishymamma · 16/05/2021 09:39

Welcome @pinklashes98!

@Mummy0220 that is so eerily accurate it's like you're spying on us Grin sounds like 15 month old boys have the same sense of humour...

@PinkDaydreams sounds like a lovely day planned, hope the weather holds out for you. I can't believe the amount of rain we've had in May either, surely it's time to get geared up for summer...?

We had another "fun" night but this time DH took DS (at about 4am) so I slept until 8. Feel like a new woman! We're off to see some friends today, they have a baby (well I guess she's nearly 1 now) we've never met so that'll be nice.

I'm slightly frustrated tody because DS refuses to go down for a nap if I try, but with DH he's conked out within 5 minutes Angry has anyone else experienced this?? DH has obligatory military service in 2 weeks, only for 4 days, but if I can't get DS down myself we're going to have real problems...this has only been happening the past few weeks. I think he's in a favouritism period where daddy is best...

Lostthetastefordahlias · 16/05/2021 10:06

@squishymamma we have this definitely with both my Dd 2yrs & Ds 8months going to sleep much quicker with DH, neither are breastfed now and Dh is probably a bit more lenient/ cuddly than me generally so who knows what its about! It takes me 20 mins of wind down to get DS to nap & only about 5 mins for DH! So annoying!

Lostthetastefordahlias · 16/05/2021 10:07

Just steeling myself to get DS up from his morning nap - I know he wont sleep tonight if he doesnt stick to his nap schedule but my god it is hard to convince yourself to wake a sleeping baby ....

MonkeyPuddle · 16/05/2021 10:45

Morning all. Wine and coffee all round.
I managed to wake both children in the night by having a coughing fit. So that was fun. Baby was awake for the best part of two hours... We’re currently playing orchard games, DS absolutely loves the shopping list game.
Off to my mums this afternoon as is our Sunday tradition

Chocolatetrifle · 16/05/2021 11:35

Hi everyone, hope everyone is ok today. Hello @pinklashes98 and @Mummy0220 and welcome Smile.

Think I saw on the weather that end of May is going to be really warm so fingers crossed.

This morning I'm busier than the launderette on EastEnders doing all the bedding, will be satisfied when it's done and fresh.

This afternoon it's the swimming baths, we have to book a quarter of the pool. First time there on a very long time.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

pinklashes98 · 16/05/2021 11:56

Hi everyone 👋 thank you for the lovely welcome messages ☺️

Baby slept well last night, think his colic is calming down which is a relief! Hubby has gone to do the food shop, me and toddler are playing with building blocks. Hoping to sort my eyebrows out at some point today! 🥴 hope everyone has a lovely Sunday ❤️

Daisyplain · 16/05/2021 12:03

@Chocolatetrifle fresh bedding here too this morning, looking forward to getting into bed tonight already! Been falling asleep on the sofa all week, can’t seem to make it through a whole film these days.

Raining and glum here. I’m avoiding housework while DS naps and DP is gardening (crazy man).
These rainy days would be perfect for movies and snuggles but DS is too young for films and isn’t a very cuddly baby unfortunately. Hoping that’ll come later!

Lostthetastefordahlias · 16/05/2021 12:58

I can’t wait until DD is old enough for a proper movie afternoon. Rather than a 100 activities/ mess everywhere/ random tantrums/attempted low level violence against the baby type of afternoon

Chocolatetrifle · 16/05/2021 13:09

@Lostthetastefordahlias, they will be the best of friends in a couple of years, that's what I have on repeat in my head when DS1 goes for DS2.

Motherofmonsters · 16/05/2021 13:18

Commencing nap attempt 2365...

Motherofmonsters · 16/05/2021 13:45

Dropped my phone and woke her, attempt 2366

pinklashes98 · 16/05/2021 13:47

@Lostthetastefordahlias I know how you feel! My older one was happily stroking babies face and all of a sudden he turned to smacking him 😩😩

Motherofmonsters · 16/05/2021 16:42

Sooo DS is currently outside running around in the light rain with a mop 'cleaning' the patio. Part of me feels like I should call him in but he is having a great time

Chocolatetrifle · 16/05/2021 17:33

@Motherofmonsters, if he's happy then let him mop!

For those who like games I can recommend the Orchard Toys Penguin Pairs game and Little Bus Lotto.

Have ordered the Shopping List game as that seems popular on here too.

Motherofmonsters · 16/05/2021 17:56

DD is in bed already, will I be up 5am? Most likely but she was exhausted

drumst1ck · 16/05/2021 17:58

Just bundled two kids into a very packed car ready to start a 6 hour journey up to Scotland to see the in laws. One child is screeching, the other is shouting 'MAMA MAMA MAMA' repeatedly. Wish us luck! Grin

Lostthetastefordahlias · 16/05/2021 18:52

Oh god hope it is worth it @drumst1ck - good luck!
Cant believe the forecast for this week, rain every day, just when we are meant to be allowed to go places!! Have already used my ‘emergency’ peppa pig magazine for this week

OhToBeASeahorse · 16/05/2021 19:08

Oh good luck @drumst1ck!!! My in laws have moved to scotland and i wont cen consider the journey at the moment.

@Motherofmonsters I groaned at the dropping of the phone -.so annoying! DS loves the shopping list game too though rarely has the stamina to play it all the way through.

drumst1ck · 16/05/2021 19:29

Not doing too badly, stopped at tebay services to see the ducks. A picnic tea and Peppa pig stories have kept DD entertained and DS has slept the whole time. Will get DD ready for bed now and hope she drops off for the next leg.

What sort of age at the orchard puzzles for? Is 19 months a bit young?
