@chocolatetrifle not yet, I'm hoping after May 17th DS1s swimming lessons will restart - the older age groups have but not the ones that still need a bit of parental help with dressing etc.

@motherofmonsters bless him, sounds like he was enjoying the freedom Smile I have nice memories of being 3 and left in living room by myself with a mug of orzo (like Italian ovaltine) and a documentary while DM put my brother to bed.

Bit of a wash out day today - DS1 had a nice time at my DMs, and I tried to do housework and failed. Did book DS2 a hairdressers appointment for next week though as he is sporting a full on bob!

Camomila · 08/05/2021 20:49

Hi and welcome @NewYearNewOldMe the more the merrier Smile

Motherofmonsters · 08/05/2021 20:58

I think he did to Camomila he went to bed like an absolute dream as well. Put his pyjamas on straight away, picked his books without fuss and then got into bed. Either he was tired from the late bedtime or sensed my mood.

Welcome @newyearnewoldme we're definitely your people. Who knows with 2 year olds they are mysterious creatures.

@Motherofmonsters, ah bless your DS, he did really well there. Glad both are settled for you now.

@Camomila, don't stress about house jobs, put your feet up and relax now!

@NewYearNewOldMe, welcome to the group, lots of chat, advice and ears to listen here.

Got through the day of rain. dS2's new favourite activity is climbing up and down the stairs with me holding his hand. We did that lots this evening and he went straight to sleep! Some sweet moments too when DS1 was teaching DS2 words to say, normally I am a referee between them. Have informed all members of the house that no one is to get up at 5.30 or earlier tomorrow. I can but hope.

Hope everyone gets a good sleep.

BeHereNowx32 · 08/05/2021 21:51

@MonkeyPuddle thank you. We tried ivf again, and looks like it hasn’t worked (again!). The hcg hormones in my blood test are way too low.

I am going to have a phone/ social media free week, and enjoy all my time with DD. We have a trip to the safari park and deep sea world planned.

On another note, I bought one of those wee bubble pop toys, and DD loves it. I was only £2 on amazon. I’ll attatch a pic

MonkeyPuddle · 08/05/2021 23:13

@BeHereNowx32 oh my love I’m so sorry. How utterly, utterly shit. I know it’s not much, but from one stranger on the internet to another, my heart goes out to you xx

BeHereNowx32 · 09/05/2021 06:30

@MonkeyPuddle ❤️❤️ Thank you x

Motherofmonsters · 09/05/2021 06:38

Oh @BeHereNowx32 I'm so sorry. Sounds like a lovely idea to have some nice days out with DD.

Chocolatetrifle · 09/05/2021 06:45

@BeHereNowx32, Flowers hope you are ok. Such a hard time for you. Have lots of cuddles with your daughter and hope she enjoys her outings this week xx

Motherofmonsters · 09/05/2021 10:46

I can't even get DD to nap today, what new hell is this.

MonkeyPuddle · 09/05/2021 10:47

Same here @Motherofmonsters every time I take my nip out her mouth, despite the fact she’s fast asleep she bloody wakes up. So she’s just suckling away on me like I’m a bloody dummy.

Motherofmonsters · 09/05/2021 10:56

It's so frustrating isn't it, her eyes were dropping she's pulling her ear but just refusing. I had to put her in her cot to cry for 30seconds with me sat there to get the last but of energy out of her

Camomila · 09/05/2021 12:55

Oh @BeHereNowx32 I'm sorry Flowers You've been in my thoughts today.

Snap! @Motherofmonsters and @MonkeyPuddle not for naps but last night DS2 didn't get to sleep till 10.30. As soon as I'd take him of me he'd cry, but he wasn't comfy on me either and kept rolling about.

I went back to church for the first time since 2020 with DS1 today, I was a bit worried as there's no children's bit due to Covid but he was really good and just coloured in his magazine. Met up with DH and DS2 in the playground after and it was so lovely...there was zumba, cricket, and baby football all running again in the park. It feels like we are close to normal again.

Chocolatetrifle · 09/05/2021 17:28

Hope you got the naps sorted MonkeyPuddle and Motherofmonsters?

How was church Camomila? Hope you enjoyed it. I've missed going too but not yet made it back, hopefully will do some point soon.

It's been that kind of day so I've treated myself to a glass of wine while cooking tea, plus have a facemask for tonight. I love those sheet facemasks.

Motherofmonsters · 09/05/2021 18:14

She went to sleep in the end, hoping she sleeps tonight. Ive ordered a Dominoes take away all to myself, DH is on a Keto diet but I just fancied junk. Feeling a tad greedy though

Chocolatetrifle · 09/05/2021 18:24

@Motherofmonsters, I'm in the kitchen sneekily eating Minstrels! Enjoy your pizza, you deserve a treat x

Motherofmonsters · 10/05/2021 09:08

Today I am mostly wondering where my period is....

MonkeyPuddle · 10/05/2021 09:35

We had an amazing Turkish takeaway last night, meat cooked over open flame, hummus, feta rolls, falafel, salad with herby dressing. Amazing.

I smell like I am made of garlic this morning. So obviously today is the day I’m meeting up with a friend.

@Motherofmonsters is this hopeful waiting or slightly worried waiting? My period hasn’t come back after having DD (I’m not on any contraception) and DP is dragging his feet with getting the snip (which he’s agreed to do), he’s well aware of what happens if we have unprotected sex, even with his one working ball.

Motherofmonsters · 10/05/2021 10:04

That sounds amazing @monkeypuddle, worth the garlicness.

Definitely nervous waiting, it feels like it's on its way but just taking forever. Only 3days late but I'm usually all over the place

Camomila · 10/05/2021 12:36

@Chocolatetrifle church was good - very well organised/social distanced. I missed the singing but tbh with DC its probably a good thing as it makes it shorter. DS1 misses the biscuits afterwards.

@Motherofmonsters fingers crossed its just hormones then. Mine are still all over the place too and DS2 is 16m now - I was a whole week late last month.

@MonkeyPuddle that sounds delicious. I'm off to make myself a giant sandwich for lunch.

Chocolatetrifle · 10/05/2021 12:51

@Camomila, that's great, so glad you liked it and great your DS enjoyed it, though shame about the biscuits. I might try to take my DS1 again soon. We've not been since DS2's christening last September. Enjoy your lunch!

@Motherofmonsters, ooo er, will you test yet?

@MonkeyPuddle, hope you have a nice meet up with your friend. Garlic is nothing to worry about now there is social distancing!

Having a very unproductive day here mainly due to it being my time of the month and it makes me so lethargic and DS2 got me up at 5.20 today and 3 times in the night. Nothing creative or instagrammy going on here so I need to come up with a plan for the afternoon sharpish.

OhToBeASeahorse · 10/05/2021 13:24

Afternoon all!

We have gardeners in with a digger so DS was enraptured all morning. I've realised that between trying to keep him occupied and fed and getting DD fed and napped etc I dont actually talk to him enough (he talks 24/7). He decided he wanted to go to the park but it took him an hour to get there after getting distracted so we had to come home for lunch but I tried to just relax and let him do what he wanted rather than keep saying 'come on, let's get to the playground'.

However. He loves dogs. But today he met one and he kicked it. The dog had done nothing. I was mortified. He said sorry and the owner gave him a treat to give to the dog but I'm seriously worried about his behaviour. Sad

OhToBeASeahorse · 10/05/2021 13:25

@Camomila I miss church! DS would have to stay in his pushchair though and I'm just not sure thats going to work...

Chocolatetrifle · 10/05/2021 13:40

@OhToBeASeahorse, I have no advice on the kicking but I just wanted to let you know my DS1 has kicked his Granny on the leg before. He is 3 and a half. How old is your DS? Is he a similar age? My DS1 is very very headstrong and strong willed but can be very sensitive and emotional too. I know it's not model behaviour and of course we explain its wrong to do and of course I worry about it too but is it possible they are trying out their emotions and strength? I don't know but I'm with you on that and I just hope he will grow out of it and realise we don't do that.

OhToBeASeahorse · 10/05/2021 13:47

@Chocolatetrifle thank you!! He is 2 and 8 months. I was tempted to start a thread asking for advice but I know I will get loads of people saying he is Pyscho in waiting and it will just upset me more!!!

He didnt do it with anger or malice he was laughing as he did it - not excusing it, just finding it hard to work out why be would do that.
