Inspired by another thread by HensTeeth44, here is a thread for lovers of fan fiction either writer or just an avid reader.

I do have some unfinished Harry Potter fan fic to share but I'm at working at the moment.

I have a Wordpress site where I've just counted 67 stories that I've written about my chosen fandom. I'm not going to name it as it's not very cool but I'm so proud that it's still getting hits even though the last thing I wrote was 6 years ago. I spent a weekend recently rereading all my stories for the first time in years and I'm pretty impressed with myself . It's definitely inspired me to take it up again, the show is still running.

Since I posted my last chapter I've got 2 extra bookmarks, 2 extra subscriptions and 2 comments. The bookmarks and the comments, at least, are not from the same people - though there may be subscription overlap.

people - it would seem - like a good torture scene. The prefer them even to scenes where two handsome, young wizards wank each other off.

Me too. It's one of my little rewards to myself for when I get near the end of a chapter.

The DC have been little horrors all weekend so DH is kindly covering bedtime and I've fled to the pub with my laptop to knock out my final scene for this longgggggg chapter.

I need to write a sex scene between a Human and an Alien tonight.

I want it to be somewhere between smutty and romantic.

I'm clearly on a totally different fanfic planet

I am more of a reader. Usually read stories based on couples I like from certain tv series. I have written 2 of my own... I’m not too good with putting it down but in my head it’s a great story 😊

That's my thing too Timeisavirtue. I'm not into fantasy or AUs, mine is very straightforward.

My stuff is all canon divergence -one tiny change from what actually happened going on to tell a whole new story, but it's very grounded in the reality of the world it's set in. I don't really understand the appeal of massive AUs ...

although the thought of writing a fic with Sirius as Jean val Jean and Snape as Javert has tickled me rather.

I've got 4 weeks of work hell coming up so my writing might take a strange turn.

I don't do AUs as such. Quite often I feel I'm just expanding the show's narrative, or diving deeper into a relationship. I do a bit of slashing occasionally, depending on the show. And I've been known to write an Omegaverse fic, so...

I posted my bathroom-sex fic and got a record number of comments overnight! Hooray.

I do a mix of things. I like to play around with characters.

Has anyone been tempted to write fiction based on History?

I've been watching alot bout the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires and Kublai Khan.

Yes, definitely. Not least because I still basically want to have written Wolf Hall myself. But the amount of research required would probably drive me nuts. My current fic set in 1968-9 has involved enough research and I still made slipups (it never occurred to me to research when fractals were discovered - turned out it was not until the 70s. D'oh).

It wouldn't tire to history as such. Just in that realm.

It might be because when they do those docs, they pick the hottest men possible to be in it.
