I do have some unfinished Harry Potter fan fic to share but I'm at working at the moment.

How is everyone on this rainy Thursday?

I've retreated to bed to write and watch Vicar of Dibley.

Urgh, Isn't the weather just awful - I am not one for glaring sunshine and heat, but this wind and rain is getting right on my tits now!

Good choice of watch there. Vicar of Dibley is a classic.

This fanfic I am writing is taking over my life. 3am before I slept last night. It's getting juicy though so I can't stop!

I've been doing silhouette paintings with six years olds all afternoon and am knackered. But I haven't written the chapter for tonight yet. I'm going to have to write all weekend to get ahead of myself again.

All my writing time right now is being sucked up by my portfolio for the course I am studying :(

I'm watching Eurovision. Poor James Newman is getting a bit of a trashing on the EV threads.

I didn't realise it was Eurovision tonight until it was all over. I couldn't have put it on anyway because I can't watch and write and I at least now have a chapter to publish for tomorrow. I need to write a lot more tomorrow though, otherwise I'll fall behind again. I can't be too far off the end, I don't want to lose momentum and end up never finishing.

I'm still up writing and watching Netflix. Should really think about going to bed.

Those of you who write fanfic, do you use an editor or proofreader? If so, where do you look for one?

I don't have an editor or beta, as my writing has always been a solitary habit. I really should though.

FF.net has a huge register of people who have volunteered to be betas in a particular fandom, so you can message one of those, or just stick a message on one of your fics that you're looking for a beta, or post on any other fandom channel, or approach an author you like.

I've never used one - it's only fanfic! I proof read the heck out of it though, I don't think another person going over it an extra time would flag up that many more mistakes.

I dont have one either. As @Icantreachthepretzels says, it's only fanfic.

And with it being only fanfic you have no reason to assume your beta is actually any better qualified than you are!

I'd have a beta for character and plot input rather than proofreading. I've had readers make some very good points/corrections in comments and I do think I'd benefit from another experienced pair of eyes on my stuff.

I do have someone who gives me tips on something im stuck on.
