80 presents for 80th birthday...help!

My nan is shortly turning 80 and I wanted to try and come up with 80 presents for her Confused
Is it possible?!
Presents can be small and cheap to some which can be more expensive...
Can anyone please help with ideas?

Rather than Nan stroking her personalised tissues, sniffing her artisan salad dressing or staring at her memory book, why not move things in a forward direction?

Fabulous to see the continued negativity - it is quite amazing to read the same thing over and over again.
To those who keep saying "don't do it!" "It will be torture!" - I am going ahead with the idea. To those who are particularly negative - you don't know my Nan, we are not getting her 'junk' or 'tat'. The presents range in price but are all well thought out and of which I can assure you will not 'clutter' her house!
Clearly some of you hate the idea and that is fine - good job you will never do such a ghastly thing then oh perfect ones! Smile

What’s your total budget OP?

Ilovemaisie · 17/04/2021 11:56

Glad you are going for it tessie Cake

tessiegirl · 17/04/2021 11:59

We haven't really got a budget.

We need to get everything sorted this week as planning on a 'party' for nan next Sunday!

I'm intrigued what you will buy without it being clutter. I know my dm same age would rather have less stuff or something she really wants

woodhill · 17/04/2021 12:01

I bought something for the garden which is lovely

WonkyCactus · 17/04/2021 12:03

Oh my God it gets worse, you have to get hold of these 80 bits of tat in just a week?!!

tessiegirl · 17/04/2021 12:06

Oh shut up WonkyCactus. Bore off.

SwimBaby · 17/04/2021 12:08

Hope she has a lovely day on Saturday.

WonkyCactus · 17/04/2021 12:09

Oh come on though, you must realise yourself that you can't hastily buy 80 special, meaningful gifts. Hmm

tessiegirl · 17/04/2021 12:13

Actually we can wonnkeycactus! I know, shock horror! Don't worry though, don't get your knickers in a twist as it has nothing to do with you.

Ninkanink · 17/04/2021 12:14

Does she like Jaffa cakes? One of those extra long tubes should do it - there must be at least 50 cakes in one of those...

tessiegirl · 17/04/2021 12:18

Great to see you still being sarcastic too Ninkanink! Bore off now!

BarbaraofSeville · 17/04/2021 12:18

50 Jaffa cakes, 24 tulips and 6 bottles of gin. I'd be happy with that.

Ilovemaisie · 17/04/2021 12:19

I am loving your attitude tessie. Now shops are reopened I could easily go and get 80 things for something like this and none of them would be unwanted 'tat'.

Ninkanink · 17/04/2021 12:20

Still being sarcastic? What on earth are you on about? I don’t think I’ve previously been sarcastic on this thread, and actually I was being serious!

You’re obviously a bit worked up but maybe don’t be defensive when there’s no need.

tessiegirl · 17/04/2021 12:23

Seriously, mentioning 50 jaffa cakes wasn't being sarcastic? Right...Hmm

We already have 35 gifts...going shopping today.

Ninkanink · 17/04/2021 12:27

If you’re inclined to go through my posting history (I’m sure you’re not) you’ll find I’m very happy to own what I say. So no, I wasn’t being sarcastic.

If I was going to do this I’d be looking for at least one filler gift of that type to bring down the rest of the presents to a more feasible number.

30 gifts is much more doable imo.

But whatever, it’s entirely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things so if you want to think I was being sarcastic, go right ahead.

BarbaraofSeville · 17/04/2021 12:28

This sounds very much about the OP having spotted a shopping opportunity, rather than it being a nice thing to do for Gran.

HectorHalloumi · 17/04/2021 12:29

So what things have you decided on, OP?

randomer · 17/04/2021 12:30

I don't think the 80 gifts thing is a good idea but the person who was vile about my " looking forward" idea is most unkind.
Captain Tom managed it just fine.

Ninkanink · 17/04/2021 12:39

@Ninkanink

Yes...but if that were the case for OP she wouldn’t have felt the need to post here, would she?

Anyway @tessiegirl I hope you’ve had some good ideas and that whatever you come up with is just right for your nan!🌷

Is this the sort of thing you mean? My oh-so-sarcastic comments...?
