So very, very sad. I have thought a lot about her this weekend and hope she is at peace. I had seen the pictures of her online, yet was still shocked to read that she had passed away.
I saw her about 11 years ago in a small book shop in London and was internally alarmed at how thin she was.
I feel that she has been exploited at times for her mental health issues. Only 3/4 years ago she appeared on a show called "In Therapy", yet this was a one off show for her, with maybe a handful of visits to a therapist. This was never designed to give any support, particularly when she clearly needed very extensive therapy, but simply was recorded to give viewers something to watch. I did watch it and only now do I realise that I shouldn't have. Yes, she would have been paid for it, of course, but this show was certainly not therapy. It can't have helped her in any way and I don't think that any amount of money would have saved her, when her eating disorder was so deep rooted, with relapse after relapse.
Rest in peace Nikki.
