What a week 😭tragic

Poor Nikki, she came over as such a lovely warm person with a quick wit and the confidence to be herself.

As someone with an ED which reappeared in lockdown after 20 years in recovery, I wanted to send my thoughts to anyone reading and struggling at the moment, it's been really tough times.

itswonkylampshade · 10/04/2021 21:32

Tragic, poor woman. So young.

purplepoppet92 · 10/04/2021 21:34

@topcat2014 she has been unwell since she wasn7 y/o, nothing to do with being on big brother

userxx · 10/04/2021 21:34

"Who is she"

Such sad news 😞

KarensChoppyBob · 10/04/2021 21:36

@insideoutsider

I think the 'Who is she' questions might be in reference to her famous quote 'Who is she?!' in Big Brother.

It's so sad. In our society, the saddest people seem the most fun to watch. Really sad.

No. More than one poster felt the need to state clearly they didn't know who it was that had died- not just quoting her famous byline.

Such sad news. She has battled with anorexia since she was 8.
30 years of fighting this horrendous illness, such a waste of a beautiful life.

EmeraldShamrock · 10/04/2021 21:39

I just watched her mothers interview from last week. Sad
Very sad the impact of lockdown is harsh if lonely.

BillCar · 10/04/2021 21:44

Sad, sad news and a sad end to the story of a young woman who tried desperately to fight an evil illness for pretty much her entire life. Such a wonderful character, quick witted and full of fun, she will be hugely missed. Rest easy Nikki, may you finally find some peace x

MaxNormal · 10/04/2021 21:45

That is very tragic.

Just to say though, while she was plainly very vulnerable, Pete was not and I don't see any issues with him having been on the show. Tourettes is a neurological condition, not a mental health disorder.

Lovemusic33 · 10/04/2021 21:53

This has really upset me, people are getting so upset by a 99 year old man dying (yes it’s sad but he was 99), meanwhile a 38 year old dies of anorexia. I really likes Nikki, yes she was dramatic but everyone remembers hew, probably more than they remember anyone else from big brother, she has battle with anorexia on and off for years, so sad that she lost her fight at such a young age. She’s a year younger than me, I can’t imagine leaving the world so early 😢.

My thoughts are with her family and friends.

drigon · 10/04/2021 22:01

Poor woman. RIP.

AbsentmindedWoman · 10/04/2021 22:02
@AbsentmindedWoman I hope your recovery is life long Daffodil
Thanks, @DaisyDreaming Smile

This is so incredibly sad. The pictures from her GoFundMe page are absolutely heart-wrenching. So much pain there. I'm so sorry for her mum.

Sootybear · 10/04/2021 22:03

Anorexia causes more deaths than any other mental health condition. It's so brutal. My beautiful DD has anorexia and I am so worried for her all the time. My DP met Nikki Grahame in our local corner shop and she was so lovely. She was doing a gig in our local venue and invited us all along. I feel so so sad about this news. Such a sweet person and so young. I wish there was better treatment for anorexia. My DD was diagnosed at 16 and what they did then was useless, she was hospitalised at 23 and came out of the hospital with PTSD and no difference in her mental health. I'm feeling so sad.

That’s true, and of course he won the show. But the point is it’s not very nice to put someone on TV because their disability will make people laugh.

@user1481840227

Very sad. I'm sure she will be missed very much by those who knew her.

I don't think she should have been allowed on big brother due to the way the show rations food if they lose challenges or only provides them with cheaper food meaning they might not be able to eat food that they are comfortable eating.
That's a very obvious reason why someone recovering from an eating disorder shouldn't be allowed to participate in the show.

Her own mother said it helped her and I don’t think it’s ok to over rule her mother, if she said it helped her, then it helped her.
Sarahtrue11 · 10/04/2021 22:08

oh my god, I just looked at the photos of her on her gofundme. Absolutely shocking.

Sarahtrue11 · 10/04/2021 22:09

I cannot believe those pictures of her on her gofundme. How was she allowed to get that thin. Absolutely shocking.

I thought that if people with anorexia were close to dying, they were sectioned, and fed through a feeding tube?

Sarahtrue11 · 10/04/2021 22:11

The photos of her are here:
extra.ie/2021/03/16/entertainment/celebrity/nikki-grahame-fundraiser-anorexia

Warning, they are bad. But it is an education on anorexia. I read the book she wrote about anorexia too, it was an education on anorexia.

EmeraldShamrock · 10/04/2021 22:11

BB was a brilliant experience for her afaict. I've watched a few of her older interviews.
It is very sad.

me4real · 10/04/2021 22:13

That's so sad Sad

KarensChoppyBob · 10/04/2021 22:14

I'm glad she did BB too. Could have been one of her happiest times.

Pebbledashery · 10/04/2021 22:16

God those pictures 😢😢😢

Sarahtrue11 · 10/04/2021 22:18

I just don't understand. If people get that thin, why aren't they sectioned, put in a coma, and fed through a feeding tube?

Sarahtrue11 · 10/04/2021 22:23

Of course now I think about it, there were probably less health services available during Covid too
