When you hear the name Marley, do you think boy or girl? (Or dog? )

I think of it as a surname (Jacob or Bob). I'm old enough to still think of the fashion for using surnames as first names as being a very American thing to do although I realise that it's becoming more common in the UK.

It's my 5 year old nieces name - so girl to me!

Or the child of middleclass hippies who have a large house in West London, Dad is permanently stoned, Mum wears purple elephant trousers and attends 5am yoga classes before coming back for a raw vegan smoothie of spinach, spirulina and virtuosity - then they invite their friends around for a Saturday night of coke and ricecakes whilst they discuss how terrible compulsory vaccination and formal education are for children.

My prejudices are at the very least, very detailed.
