I'm notoriously bad at noticing people around me - rather envious of these people that spot celebs on the Tube etc

That said
back in 1990/1991 - my sister spotted Alan Rickman as we were driving through Hampstead one evening.

2003 - was on holiday with friends in Chicago & saw Russell Crowe outside the House of Blues. Smiled & waved & got a lovely smile & a wave back (much nicer guy than his reputation would indicate!)

2006 - was on holiday in San Diego with a friend (not the same one as above) and saw Russell Crowe AGAIN, walking with a group of friends along Broadway (he & his band were playing at the House of Blues that evening).

Jarvis Cocker in Safeway’s in Sheffield, before it was Waitrose, about 20 years ago! Niamh Cusack and Rupert Penry-Jones on the checkout next to us in Bangor* Tesco’s, about 10 years ago. Jodie Whittaker just in the street locally, 2 or 3 years ago. She comes from the next village.

When I was working in Nottingham for a while I had to walk past the Theatre Royal twice a day for the train, and I saw Brendan Cole eating a sandwich.
