Yes, it would have been a story had I bumped into the queen in the street. I suppose her being in a car is pushing this a bit.Grin

Fruitflylady · 07/04/2021 21:17

Ross Kemp walked past me with his dog once when I was picking sloes with my sister. I said ‘he looks just like Ross Kemp’ and she said that was probably because it was him, and he lived somewhere nearby Blush

Chatted to Antony Stewart Head on a flight to Belfast once. Nice bloke.

I saw Michael Palin standing outside the Cameo in Edinburgh as I sailed past on the bus.

I also bumped into the Brazilian death metal group, Sepultura, in the London Dungeons a week after I'd seen them in concert in Glasgow. That was a highlight of my misspent youth.

Oh, and the Queen came to my school for its centenary. Forgot that one.

Pinkorblue25 · 07/04/2021 21:19

Turned up to a funeral, everyone was congregating outside the church & Nick knowles was there, it wasn't long after he'd done I'm a celebrity, he sat next to my other half once inside.

tessiegirl · 07/04/2021 21:20

Fat boy slim and Zoe ball nearly ran me over in their car.

Sarahlou63 · 07/04/2021 21:20

Walking down George Street in Dublin I saw a wrinkly skinny guy and a tubby chap, deep in conversation. I recognised Cliff Richard straight away but it took a couple of minutes to clock Van Morrison.

VenusClapTrap · 07/04/2021 21:20

Marcus Brigstock
Jenny Eclair
Zoe Ball

Blankiefan · 07/04/2021 21:21

I saw Darren O'Briain in the street at the Edinburgh Festival. For an instant I didn't recognise him - well, I knew I knew him but kind of thought it was just someone I knew rather than a famous person. Without thinking I just said "oh hi!" as if he was some guy from work. He gave me a withering look like I was some sort of deluded fan... oh, the horror!

doadeer · 07/04/2021 21:21

Oh I was at the same club as Amy Winehouse when I was at uni and had a smoke next to her. And the front man from the libertines who used to date Kate Moss, think I bumped into him and he told me to fuck off 🤣

ThreeLittleBirdz · 07/04/2021 21:21

Walked by Gok Wan on a random street in London about 11 or 12 years ago. Also spotted Helen Worth rushing for her train at Euston Station probably just months apart from the Gok sighting.

Blondiney · 07/04/2021 21:22

Sally from Corrie and her actress daughter live round here. Usually spot the paps before them.

Jenny Powell walks around the village wishing they'd photograph her. Grin

Sarahlou63 · 07/04/2021 21:24

Oh, and many years ago I was cross because my bus was stuck in traffic in south London. Crawling past Brixton police station I realise it was because Prince Charles and Diana were standing outside (presumably on official business, they hadn't been nicked!). She was a lot taller than him...

ILoveAfternoonTea · 07/04/2021 21:25

Russell Howard twice in Leamington
Quentin Wilson in Stratford
Colin Montgomery in Covent Garden
Lots of footballers

VenusClapTrap · 07/04/2021 21:25

I stopped at a zebra crossing in Richmond to let an old man with a walking stick cross the road. Then I realised it was Mark Shaw from Then Jerico, and was shocked and appalled at what a state he was in, as I was a huge fan back in the day. I know he had various addiction issues, so I guess that’s what had wrecked him.

BlooBagoo · 07/04/2021 21:26

I've stood beside Kevin Bridges in a pub in Glasgow and was once nearly run over by Prince Charles in the country when out for a walk. A little further along the road we said hello to two women also walking, one was Camilla, this was a good bit before they were "officially" together.

I also worked at the Open one year and met a lot of golfers. I didn't recognise Seve Ballesteros as he walked past, although I did notice that he was very tanned and was wearing really nice shades. Blush

Spottysausagedogs · 07/04/2021 21:26

Saw Johnny Vegas in a Spar in my home town, passed him and said hi quite casually as thought he was someone I went to school with. He just said hi back in the same manner, he either thought the same or just gets that a lot Grin

Samcro · 07/04/2021 21:26

Ian Puleston-Davies in the Arndale Centre, Lorna Laidlaw at Birmingham New Street station, we got on the same train. Walked past Tony Robinson in a motorway services and Jason Gardiner in London. I love Lorna Laidlaw but I was too nervous to approach her!!

AliceAliceWhoTheFook · 07/04/2021 21:26

Yes I did. Hugh Grant. And I was staring at him, thinking "where do we know each other from...? Why isn't he smiling at me in recognition? Why does he look slightly terrified...?"

10 minutes later I realise "FFS, I know HIM from the screen, he's no bloody idea who I am!"

MrsJackRackham · 07/04/2021 21:27

Peter Capaldi on Sauchiehall Street.
