Yes.

Ricky Gervais a couple of times in Bloomsbury
A few news presenters also around UCL.
Maybe Damian Lewis on his bike.
Neil Morrissey from Men Behaving Badly in a supermarket.

knackeredcat · 08/04/2021 12:37

I forgot a very smartly dressed Trevor McDonald in a hurry in St Pancras

amusedbush · 08/04/2021 12:50

I walked past Frankie Boyle on Glassford Street in Glasgow. He’s taller than I imagined.

DH and I were out for dinner in Glasgow and Micky Flanagan was at the next table.

On a flight down to London I was sitting behind Alfie Enoch (Harry Potter, How to Get Away with Murder) - and I know it was definitely him because he was flirting with the woman next to him and told her he was in Harry Potter Grin

I saw Sean Bean in New York - he was walking into a studio to be interviewed (his name was on the sign in the window as a guest that day). DH made a joke about SB’s football team and he laughed.

Lastly, I was walking past the BBC studios in London when Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy! In the flesh! 😍) came out from filming The One Show and he stopped for a selfie with me.

Mum and I saw Miriam Margolyes in London once, Mum was a bit starstruck as she loves her. Another time, mum was in Covent Garden and someone bumped into her and a well-spoken voice said 'Oh, I'm terribly sorry, madam,' It was Christopher Lee.

SedentaryCat · 08/04/2021 13:00

Griff Rhys Jones in the pub where we used to go.
Thom Yorke in Oxford city centre. Unsurprising really.
Terry Pratchett in Debenhams.
Damon Hill driving through Didcot just after his contract had been terminated with Williams. He didn't look very happy....
And Jeremy Clarkson driving through town. He also didn't look very happy due to gridlocked traffic. Tough.

Saw Ainsley Harriet waiting for a bus near charing x station, I did a double take and he gave me a smile and a cheeky wink, legend!

Also saw that odious little prick Nigel Farridge at Liverpool st station. Was wearing his typical trademark smug grin. Almost gave him an earful but he was flanked by a couple of bnp gorillas.

WeatherwaxOn · 08/04/2021 13:09

I'm so glad to hear that Bill Bailey is nice
I've been a fan for donkeys years, seen him perform loads of times, but too chicken to hang around the stage door.

VenusClapTrap · 08/04/2021 13:37

Rachel Weiss in the street - tiny and strikingly beautiful
Penelope Keith in her wellies in the Yorkshire Dales
Katie Price shopping in All Saints
Pal from a-ha at another table in a restaurant I was in. I’m a huge fan and so grinned like a loon at him, and he smiled back.

Dh plonked himself down at the same table as the Pet Shop Boys in a busy canteen, muttering ‘mind if I sit here?’ He had no idea who they were, until a laughing colleague asked him how his lunch with the Pet Shop Boys was, later on.

astonvanilla · 08/04/2021 13:43

Jambo from Hollyoaks in Cambridge and Michelle Heaton from Liberty X and her family at Whipsnade zoo

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/04/2021 13:43

Ruth Davidson going into Hemma in Edinburgh with her baby buggy and struggling with the door. My sister and I stopped and stared and consulted each other on whether it really was her instead of jumping to help like I would normally do for random strangers and some bloke passing helped her instead. Blush

fizbosshoes · 08/04/2021 13:44

I saw Gillian Mckeith on a train once. She was tiny and looked much older than on tv .

DoubleTweenQueen · 08/04/2021 13:45

I absolutely forgot, Brian Cox walked into the office one morning

DoubleTweenQueen · 08/04/2021 13:57

oh yes, have also met David Attenborough, Lucy Worsley, and Philip Ardagh :) But not in the street. I don’t come across many people in the street, but I’m probably elsewhere, mentally.

blobby10 · 08/04/2021 14:03

Saw George Rainsford (Ethan from Casualty) on the Tube about 18 month ago.

Saw Patricia Routledge (Hyacinth Bucket) at Castle Howard many years ago - she clocked that I'd recognised her and put her head down then scuttled away, just like Mrs Tiggywinkle, presumably so I didn't try and pester her for an autograph or something😁. At the time I was shepherding 3 under 8's around the grounds so hardly had time to breathe never mind ask for autographs!!

VenusClapTrap · 08/04/2021 14:05

Oh I forgot Feargal Sharkey. He looked really old, which made me feel really old.

edgeware · 08/04/2021 14:09

Hugh Jackman

WeatherwaxOn · 08/04/2021 14:17

@VenusClapTrap

Oh I forgot Feargal Sharkey. He looked really old, which made me feel really old.
Feargal Sharkey used to live around the corner from a friend of mine when we were teens. We saw him hanging curtains in his bay window once as we walked past to get to her house.
HeronLanyon · 08/04/2021 14:22

Why are so many tiny ?
Are we just surprised those who are are not a more common height and so it’s remembered and commented on more?
Does the tv actually not only add pounds but also height ??
So many imponderables.

notasillysausage · 08/04/2021 14:25

I once saw Vernon Kay at the start of his career when he was a model, think I knew him from Smash Hits magazine or the like Grin
He walked past me in the street in London and I grabbed my friend and said “that’s the famous model” - typical teenage response! Anyway he heard and grinned from ear to ear, it must have been the early days when it’s exciting to be recognised Grin

femfemlicious · 08/04/2021 14:27

I saw all the members of destinys child in topshop oxford circus. I looked beyonce right on the eyes

Anycrispsleft · 08/04/2021 14:31

Ooh loads. I used to work in London and you'd see lots of famous faces... mostly politicians and finance types though so possibly not that interesting. I've seen Boris Johnson on his stupid bike with the too low saddle, cycling about like an actual clown.

Apart from that... Nick Cave on the train into London, Ethan Hawke on the street in New York, Bob Mortimer walked past my hairdressers' in Edinburgh while I was in getting a cut... the best one was Oasis in Manchester airport lounge though. Me and a colleague had been sent on a work trip and neither of us had done much anybusiness travelling so we were a bit shy about going into the airport lounge and stuff, but we sussed it out and then I'm up at the bar getting us drinks and I look up and there's Noel and Liam Gallagher sitting at opposite ends of a sofa looking right pissed off. I was like. "Look." Nudge. "Loooooook!" I'm sure they didn't notice us staring at them and nudging each other and going "ha, wait till they hear about this back at the lab" at all Grin

Edwina Currie (in the loo), George Osborne (ice skating), Matt Lucas (on a train to Devon), Martin Kemp and Shirley (frequently as live near me), Andrew Strauss (sons on same cricket program for a bit), David Miliband (on a flight) and some others but my memory is too rubbish to remember.
