Peter Hook, the bassist for Joy Division/ New Order at my local newsagent outside of Bolton. He let my kids sit in his TVR.
Craig Charles at a Waterstones in Reading.
Bryan Ferry at a newspaper kiosk in Los Angeles. He really was as elegant and as good-looking as I imagined he was...
Jarvis Cocker walking along a street in Austin, Texas. It was weirder because Spandau Ballet was premiering their film, Soul Boys of the Western World, at a theater in Austin and were taking photographs outside the theater. Jarvis walked up to where I was and took a photo and even the Spandau boys were like, "Was that Jarvis Cocker?" Jarvis had a film premiering at the same event that day.
At that same event I met Mike Peters from the Alarm and I sat next to Elijah Wood, the actor from The Lord of the Rings, during the Spandau film. We serenaded each other during a performance of "True".
I was walking in Houston, Texas downtown and ran into Rick Astley. I didn't know he was performing in the city. It was a nice surprise.
I was on a plane with the actor, F Murray Abraham (Amadeus, Scarface, etc). He was in my hometown in Texas visiting his relatives before attending the Academy Awards in Los Angeles where he received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Salieri in Amadeus.
I remember exchanging pleasantries with Prince Andrew back in 1987. He was so nice and friendly and made my trip to England just extra special. Bummer that he's not so wonderful after all.
Murray Walker was parked next to me in a car park in Windsor. He was kind enough to help me collapse a baby stroller.
I did see David Beckham in Bents Garden Centre in Cheshire back in the 90's. I had no idea who he was because I had just moved to England from the US and I didn't follow football but I remember everyone making a big deal about him. Now, I would trample over people to get to him.
