OssieShowman · 07/04/2021 23:03

Shane Warne - Warney, australian cricketer. Head in his phone

Midwife1997 · 07/04/2021 23:03

Gwendoline Christie. In the lift of our apartment block.

Midwife

George Best on Surbiton high street- thought he was someone I knew from the pub so said hi and had a chat. Husband told me who he was.

Before lockdown my OH and I would go a wander up Byres Road in Glasgow and nearly always see Frankie Boyle.
Such a day out would become
"D'ye wantae go and see Frankie Boyle the day?"

Ohnomoreno · 07/04/2021 23:06

Jarvis Cocker on the tube, Yoko Ono in Sheekeys, Quentin Tarantino in a New York restaurant.

Tiddlywinkly · 07/04/2021 23:06

I've seen a few in airports and supermarkets etc, but seeing as you asked for ones seen in the streets and I'm about to call it a night, Kit Harrington in North London.

RizzleRazzle · 07/04/2021 23:07

Sat on the next table to Johnny Marr in a cafe in Manchester. Don't think I've ever walked past someone famous on the street though (that I know of)

minty133 · 07/04/2021 23:08

Greg Davies (comedian) in Endcliffe Park in Sheffield. Was swaggering around looking very full of himself.

lilyfire · 07/04/2021 23:11

Fred Mumford from Rentaghost outside BBC

LadyCatStark · 07/04/2021 23:12

No but DH does all the time! I guess it’s because he spends time in London and Manchester for work and I don’t.

😵 I’m so jealous!!
donutosaurus · 07/04/2021 23:13

Zoe Ball/ Colin Farrell (airport)
Max Branning (Refent St) and Phil Mitchell (zoo) from eastenders (sorry don't know their real names!)
Jamie Redknapp / Andy Murray /Danny Care - loads of places as they live near me
quite a few other rugby players from Harlequins/Bath/England Rugby
Zara and Mike Tindall - they came into a restaurant I worked in and I waitressed their table.

Last year, I viewed a house which belonged to Bobby Davro. He casually had his 'this is your life' big red book lying on the side in his study!

Tiddlywinkly · 07/04/2021 23:13

Oh god, I forgot Tom Cruise! In Paris promoting Mission Impossible 2 or something. He's tiny.

Elijah Wood in Oxford filming The Oxford Murders. I didn't realise at the time. I was more pissed off that a shoot of them running across the street was making me late for work.

Friendofdennis · 07/04/2021 23:13

Kenneth Williams on Shaftesbury Avenue, I just glanced at him and he gave me a withering look Nigella Lawson in the foyer of Broadcasting House (she had her nose in a book ). Kenny Rogers. Deniece Williams. Gloria Gaynor. Aretha Franklin. Tony Blair in Manchester. Charlton Heston in Hollywood. Barbara Windsor in Elstree. Jenni Murray on the train from Manchester to London queueing for a sandwich.

m0therofdragons · 07/04/2021 23:13

Martin clunes lives nearby and I waved like a grinning loon thinking I knew him... then realised he didn’t know me!

League of gentlemen (I pointed and grunted loudly unable to actually say words while Dh laughed hysterically at me - slightly worried I may have influenced one of their characters).

All things considered, it’s best if I don’t see celebs as I clearly lose the ability to act like a normal human.

Rachie1973 · 07/04/2021 23:14

My DH lost his best friend a few years back. At the funeral his niece did a reading. Afterwards I complimented her on her lovely reading voice.

I really really really wish I’d known she was Eleanor Tomlinson! (Demelza from Poldark). Ultra cringe. We had dinner with them the next day and she did laugh with me about it.

ThirdAttempt · 07/04/2021 23:14

Ant in a Newcastle pub years ago (maybe Dec had gone to the Gents?). Peter Beardsley in Asda car park. Rod, Jane and Freddy getting out of a car at a service station, looked like they'd been arguing a bit.

converseandjeans · 07/04/2021 23:15

Louis Theroux in a cafe in Southwold many years ago
Lee from Blue at the train station in Oxford
Sid Owen (Ricky Butcher) in Po Na Na in Cambridge
Paul Henry (Benny from Crossroads) and Frank Bruno in Birmingham

MsHedgehog · 07/04/2021 23:16

The Queen
Prince Charles and Camila
Princess Anne
(To be fair I was on the street and they were in a car, separate occasions for each)
David Mitchell
Ricky Gervais
Victoria Beckham
Sporty Spice
Thierry Henry
Liam Gallagher
Rachel Stevens
Emma Thompson
Chris Eubank
Nicolas Cage
Craig David
Ian McKellan
Frank Lampard
Various 90s boyband members

I’m sure there are others but those are the first that come to mind. I live in London btw and grew up in a part of London that has lots of celebrities.

ThirdAttempt · 07/04/2021 23:17

Bugger, it was Dec.

niki26 · 07/04/2021 23:17

Amanda Lamb in Kingston a few years ago....also saw Jacqueline Wilson posting a letter in Kingston, on a different day!

That Stephen chap from Green Wing pushing a buggy along the canal in Camden.

Sienna Miller was on our group tour when we visited Lapland UK in 2017.

GriseldaChop · 07/04/2021 23:17

Mark Owen walking through the village in Kirby Lonsdale. Ant and Dec in Eldon Square, Newcastle, back in their PJ and Duncan days! Grin

MsHedgehog · 07/04/2021 23:18

Oh just remembered two more:

Rik Mayall
James Nesbitt

Constance11 · 07/04/2021 23:18

I saw Amy Winehouse in Camden in the early '00s. She was tiny!

Carouselfish · 07/04/2021 23:18

Rik May all in a soho cafe.
Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen wheeling a someone's chair in Bath.
Not terribly thrilling, either.

Oh, was walking through a packed Leicester sq once just trying to get home and Brian May was next to me. Think I'd shoved through a premiere attending crowd of fans obliviously. He handed me his programme, I binned it.
