I spent some time in Miami many moons ago and saw quite a few famous faces. The two best were Micheal Jackson and Jennifer Lopez. It was absolutely nuts with MJ, I was in a shopping centre and passed him and his huge security team and within minutes there were literally hundreds of people screaming and swarming the shop he’d gone into.
J-Lo came into a clothes shop I was in and they closed the stop and asked everyone to leave. She was much smaller than I’d imagined her to be and seemed quite sweet and kind. I tried to play it cool and not act starstruck and ended up walking into a glass door on my way out 😂

Jedward in a theme park in LA decked head to toe in minions gear.

The receptionist from celebs go dating at a The Tiger Who Came For Tea theatre show in London clapping really loudly.

My DP saw Nicolas Cage in the baggage reclaim at an airport while I was stuck in the passport check in queue, I was gutted to have missed that 😁

I was in Greystones in Cow Wicklow and I saw Diarmuid Gavin and David Gest. But later I convinced myself, no, no, sure what would David Gest be doing in Greystones, don't be stupid, you did not see David Gest! It was just Diarmuid Gavin and some bloke that looked like him. Then the two of the were on Come Dine with me a few weeks later! I shouldn't have doubted myself.

I used to live in London and I saw loads of celebrities. Anna Friel and David Thewless, looked chilled and relax. Bill Oddie, SCOWLED at me for some reason. George Michael! Anthea turner carrying a painting down the street in Godalming, Emma Thompson, The guy who plays Dot Cotton's son....

Billy Murray (from the Bill) in a local Tandoori place about 15 or so years ago. He was talking really loudly, waving his arms around, desperate for attention. We ignored him.
Saw Stephen Fry in his taxi about 20 or so years ago outside the Family records centre ago when I was doing some genealogy research. I think he was on WDYTYA around that time.
At a service station got chatting to an older man and his wife, whilst queuing for a cup of tea, we talked about the traffic (there'd been an accident so we pulled into the services to wait for things to clear), and having been on the road for however many hours. Later on, DH told me it was Graham Taylor (late football manager).

FaceyRomford · 07/04/2021 22:55

Man U player......

Traffors Centre.....youngest son was complaining he hated shopping so I was hanging back with him, oldest son and DH were strolling ahead. Caught sight of people pestering a bloke. Pointed bloke out to DH and DS1. DS1 said that's XXX, man u player. DS was too frightened to speak to him so I went over, explained my son was a massive man u fa but too scared to speak to him, Man U player called my son over, spent 15 mins or so chatting to him and had photos taken. Couldnt have met a nicer person.
A while later we saw him again, chatted to him but some young lads were shouting abuse at him (terrible tbh), then asked him for photos and he walked straight passed them. The abuse was hard to witness.

I sent a photo of us all to Man U, player signed the photo and sent kids a signed team photo each.

DS1s most treasured possession!

Oh gosh at first I couldn't think of any and then I remembered loads.
Alan Rickman walking towards Trafalgar Square, Amy Winehouse really on in her career - pre beehive days - on Tottenham Court Road. I was a huge fan even then and I just remember how tiny she was.
Richard Ayoade on Portobello Road.
Michael Portillo, Angus Deayton and Ken Livingstone on the tube. The actress who plays Lola from Eastenders must live locally to me because I see her a lot. Matthew Horne in Selfridges, waved at him because he seemed so familiar I thought I knew him.
Michael Palin on Bond Street, I thought my Dad might faint at that one and he's an ex journo so used to slebs but he still talks about that time we bumped in to Michael Palin.
One of Girls Aloud used to be in a baby group I went to.
Chef Tom Brown in the park this weekend.
But the general rule as a Londoner is if you see a celebrity - you must act as though you have not seen them.

Penguins1 · 07/04/2021 23:00

Mark Ruffalo - swoon.

Mamabear12 · 07/04/2021 23:03

I’ve seen Hugh grant a few times - cafe nero, the park, the street, pub, restaurant, bar, my gym. I guess you can say he must be following me. Haha. I assume he must live in the same area as I’ve seen him many times. However, I have not seen him in a while. I assume the pandemic or perhaps he is off filming somewhere. And no, I’ve never said hi or anything.

Other famous people I’ve seen as a one off in random places - Thandie Newton, Justin timberlake; Claudia sheifer, Enrique Iglesias. Hermonie from Harry Potter - mind is suddenly blank to what her real name is. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few.
