Aggressive timer! What's your annoying household appliance?

My oven timer is so aggressive! I know that awful shrill sound is the point - to jolt me out of whatever I'm doing incase I forget but who does it think it is summoning me like that?!

Same with the microwave timer sound. Just shut up, I've heard you - I'm coming!

Do you have any annoying household appliance?

Been known to get up in the middle of night and kick my fridge 🤣 the incessant humming drives me crazy 🤪

Upstairs’ alarm - I assume it’s a smoke alarm and it goes off at least twice a week. I’m glad it’s working and all that but still (they could stop burning the toast!).

My coffee machine. It feels like every time I use it it needs the water tank refilled or the beans topped up or the grounds container emptied. It’s so needy.

My freezer is a total pain in the arse. If I keep the door open for a moment too long it starts whining at me.

As it’s in the pantry it’s the tiniest bit far away to be able to pour the peas in water with the door open and get back in time. You think it would have learnt by now.

Microwave. 5 very loud beeps. 1 would do FFS.

You are lucky to just get five microwave beeps, mine just keeps going until you open the door...

On the other hand, the tumble dryer plays a lovely happy little song when it is finished...

Fairly new microwave, it beeps three times when it's finished the continues to beep until you attend to it

Our job beeps for every touch and woe betide you put anything hot near the touch zone while the hob is on. It beeps loudly and switches itself off

Bloody hob

Dishwasher. Harasses you by beeping at the end of the cycle, then continually beeping until you open its door. I'm quite happy to know it's clean, I don't want to be chased to sodding empty it!

My car. I know it’s not an appliance, but I’ll be driving along quite happily, then it lets off an almighty “bing”, the sort of warning noise that makes you thing somethings dropped off your engine, so you have a bit panic about what’s gone wrong, when it turns out it’s just deciding to warn me that it’s 4d frees outside. Why the hell does it need to beep so bloody loud? I know it’s cold outside, I didn’t teleport to my car, I had to actually walk outside to get in it, whic was sufficient time in which to ascertain for myself that it’s cold outside.

My soup maker beeps for the last 5 mins l just don’t know what it wants from me........l do love the finished product though.

My microwave is a beeping dickhead.

My coffee machine is very demanding. Constantly asking to be descaled with the special descaler. I think it talks toy tumble dryer, which is equally demanding with its requests for me to wash the filter sponge.

My new microwave has a feature so you can shut off all the beeping, even when it's done cooking. It is absolute bliss. I'll never own another one if I can't turn off the bloody beeping.

Also, my coffee maker beeps 4 fucking times when it's done brewing. WhyTF is this necessary? I can tell it's done looking at it.

Washing machine. It finishes and beeps loudly. Several beeps. Thank you - helpful - I will open the door when I am ready. After a minute (I think) it does its series of beeps again (more piercingly) .... and again .... and again. It's only since I have been WFH and in the next room, in a meeting, that I have realised this.

The battery warning noise on our sump pump for the basement. Very high pitched and impossible to ignore!!!

My fridge beeps if you leave the door open for more than 30 seconds.
Drives me wild.

Sometimes I wanna just leave it open whilst I’m sorting dinner. Give me a break!!!

Don’t get me started on unpacking the shopping, I’ve kicked that sodding fridge more than once

Tumble dryer for me. Squeaks like a giant mouse and we’ve had it serviced by curry’s know how. Can’t wait until it goes completely and I can get another one.

Anything that beeps or alarms “llamas”, as my daughter used to say as a toddler

The fridge beep drives me batshit, as does the dishwasher “I’m finished” beep. Yes, I know you’ve finished, as your light goes off, you attention seeking twat

The newest attention seeking bit of twattish kit is the soup machine. Beep, beep, whirrrr, blend, blend, whirrr. Beepbeeepbeeepbeep. STFU

My washer and dryer both play a melody that lasts for ages when the cycle finishes. Drives me mad.

Really slow Alexa

My dishwasher- it's ceaseless and reiterative. Not complaining too much though...

My phone alarm can also do one with its increasing volume.
Feels like it's saying "can. you. nOT. HEAR. ME??"

I know this when I've left it on for a while and I can hear it going from a normal sound to a very loud one, with each ring. I know it's helpful but still...so impatient!
