Can’t believe it - I’ve finally done it!

I’m (just) in the healthy BMI range for the first time in over 10 years!

Still got a few pounds to go until I’m in the comfort zone, but that was my first target, and I’ve blooming got there!

Thrilled. And it’s largely down to MN and some great advice I got on a thread I started back in September last year.

Thank you, MN!

Well done!!!

@LunaNorth how much did you drink before you gave up? I'd be bereft without my Friday wine!!

LunaNorth · 04/04/2021 11:59

@hopeishere

Far too much, sadly. It had to go. If it was just wine on a Friday, there’d have been no problem.

That doesn't sound like snail's pace to me - well done OP, that's amazing.

FairyDust123456 · 04/04/2021 13:19

Wow, well done you! I need to get going myself, maybe this is the inspiration I needed Smile

LunaNorth · 04/04/2021 13:34

Honestly, one day at a time and look after yourself, especially your head. That’s my honest advice.

I approached it in the spirit of curiosity, really. Sort of, ‘let’s see what happens if I try this.’

Congratulations OP. And to all the others who have lost weight. Amazing results

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 04/04/2021 13:44

@itsgettingwierd

Yay well done 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

I get that. 2.5 weeks ago I decided enough was enough when my BMI tipped 31.8 (obese!).

I'm 12lb lighter now and my target is to hit a stone by the end of this week.

1.5st by end of April.

The felling is so good and I think it's because it's something you know you've achieved yourself because you have total control.

12lbs in 2.5 weeks?????? How???

(Takes notes)

TopTabby · 04/04/2021 14:00

That's brilliant, well done!!
Sounds like you've done it a really steady & sensible way.
Love your comment about looking after your head, top advice.

Well done, amazing work! I am 2kg away from this goal. I have lost 12kg since January so only 2 to go until a healthy BMI, then another 10kg after that to be where I want to be. Like you I’m enjoying wearing clothes that I haven’t fit into for a while and appreciating how comfortable they are when they aren’t digging in!

LunaNorth · 04/04/2021 16:43

Well done @MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat!

2kg will soon be off! Great work!

Gosh, amazing losses, well done everyone!

I get that thing about getting dressed, Luna. No need to endlessly try on to see if you can get away with this top with these trousers...

I'm in my smaller clothes, no need to see what works with what, it will all work. Though it's all held up by a belt!

I'll be clothes shopping next autumn. I reckon I can get through the summer taking my trousers in and wearing floaty dresses that float better now!

Next autumn though- I'll definitely need trousers and a coat. Maybe some tops. Then next summer, full new summer gear I think. I should be at target next winter.

itsgettingwierd · 04/04/2021 16:53

Hot toddy think some of it (2-3 lbs) was pretty period weight. Although I was 2.5lb heavier than I've ever been pre this period (I have issues with them and they are severely heavy)

Other than that I've been using my fitness pal. Just been educating myself into what's in foods etc. It's amazing how things Aren't what they seem calorie wise.

I've stick to my target set for me easily and haven't been without - I've still had cakes and chocolate about 3-4 days a week - even had pizza!

BigPaperBag · 04/04/2021 16:57

22lbs! That’s such a fab achievement, well done 👏 It’s given me some inspiration to keep going. Enjoy this moment!

LunaNorth · 04/04/2021 16:58

That’s the way to do it, @itsgettingwierd!

I don’t see myself as having been on a diet at all. I’ve just started keeping an eye on what goes in and what gets used up.

LunaNorth · 04/04/2021 16:59

Thank you @BigPaperBag!

I’m actually two stone down from my heaviest, but I’d lost a couple of pounds before I started logging everything.

Fantastic achievements, all of you!

Liverbird77 · 04/04/2021 18:41

So many congratulations!!!

EnglishRain · 04/04/2021 18:42

Congratulations! That's a fantastic achievement. I hope you're going to do something to celebrate. I'm trying to get better at celebrating the successes when they happen, and this is definitely worthy. Well done Thanks

Amdone123 · 04/04/2021 18:51

Congratulations! You've done really well. I lost 20lbs over a period of 18 months ! Have probably put half a stone on during Lockdown, but am not too bothered.
I think slow and steady is the best approach.( And not getting fed up by putting too much pressure on yourself). People get upset when then only lose 1 pound a week, but that's 52lb a year !

LunaNorth · 04/04/2021 18:58

YY to a pound a week being a good amount. I just visualised a pound of butter - gone!
