And feel shocking.Anyone else?
Anything is better than Covid itself obviously but God I'm in agony.
Aching, hurting body since about 9pm had the shivers for a few hours but they seem to have gone for now.
Anyone else reacted like this? Dh had no reaction at all.

I had mine last Thursday and was just so tired I slept On and off for about ten hours, I also had some aches in my legs and a few hot flushes. My sons GF Mum had bad hot flushes. DH and sons GF Dad were both 100% fine. I don’t think there are any serious research papers available yet to confirm but have read that women seem to have worst side effects.

JustanotherTuesday · 23/03/2021 02:54

Yes I was like that and I also felt really sick for about twelve hours. When I woke up in the morning I couldn't believe how much better I felt. My SIL had similar side effects to me but my husband didn't have any and my two sons just had a headache.
I've also heard women are more likely to have side effects.

Balai · 23/03/2021 03:04

Snap! Had mine yesterday lunchtime, now I'm lying awake aching everywhere, with a temperature of 38.5. Earlier in the evening I felt almost comically awful, shaking like a leaf. Feel very spaced out now.
Solidarity! Let's hope we are on the mend by morning.

I had mine at 12pm yesterday and I'm awake now aching so badly! My head felt really fuzzy all evening aswell.

Rubyroses3 · 23/03/2021 03:15

I felt exactly the same and my arm felt sore for a few days.

MinnieJackson · 23/03/2021 03:37

Now dh's just come downstairs for paracetamol and he's shaking like a shitting dog Grin had his at the same time as me. He said 'is this normal? Am I dying?!' Wearing long John's and a fisherman's jumper 😂 I must remember tomorrow that his symptoms will be worse and definitely last longer than mine Wink

CandyCaneLane0 · 23/03/2021 07:44

I had mine on Saturday and didn't sleep at all that night from shivering and had a temp of nearly 40. I still feel achey now

Quadrangle · 23/03/2021 07:49

It does vary a lot. It's to do with how fiercely your immune system reacts to it. I had feverish fluency symptoms for a day, helped with lemsip, then ok the next day

SoupDragon · 23/03/2021 07:49

I had mine yesterday morning and am fine. Maybe a slight temperature... maybe a bit achey. I did feel worse at about midnight and was expecting to wake up this morning feeling crap but I haven't.

I've heard of a full range of reactions from feeling like you describe to absolutely nothing. Anecdotally you feel worse if you have had Covid but who knows if that is actually true.

Bookworm19 · 23/03/2021 07:50

Yep, had mine on a Friday, spent most of the weekend in bed. I had chills and shiver, fever, tiredness, aches and pains throughout my body, headache.

Lasted a couple of days.

Quadrangle · 23/03/2021 07:51

Fluey not fluency

MiniMaxi · 23/03/2021 07:52

Yeah 24h of feeling crap for me, nothing for husband.

People seem so shocked to have side effects, it’s like they’ve forgotten that their kids have to take Calpol every time they have a jab.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 23/03/2021 08:03

Well I managed to get to sleep around 4am,still aching 😴

BerniesMittens · 23/03/2021 08:50

DH had no side effects. I felt like shit for 3 days. So cold, shivering for a day and then so hot the sweat was dripping off me. A day of mild sneezing and feeling generally blah and I'm ok again.

PuzzleMonkeyMum · 23/03/2021 10:00

I had the exact same, literally couldn’t hold a glass of water because I was shaking so hard. I was aching, had a temperature, heart racing etc. I’m so glad I had the vaccine and will skip into the next on but god it was horrendous.

I posted on here at the time and was accused of scaremongering and being anti-vax Hmm

Whatwouldnanado · 23/03/2021 10:07

Dh and I had first vaccine on the same morning. By dinnertime I was shaking with cold yet my head felt as though it was boiling inside, very painful. Temp of 38.9 at around midnight. I took paracetamol, finally got to sleep around 5am and slept through most the next day. Whole thing lasted about 36 hrs and fine now. My husband had no reaction.

Immaback · 23/03/2021 10:46

Yes I did! Had my vaccine at 3.30Pm. Felt a little off going to bed but symptoms really kicked in during the night - shivers /temp, achy all over. Took paracetamol In the morn which helped but at 5.30pm (26 hours after vaccine) my temp was 39.4!
More paracetamol before bed and I slept perfectly and was 100% better the following day. Feel fine since. I was shocked at just how awful I felt but thankfully it was short lived and seems to be the case for most ppl !

Tejutas · 23/03/2021 13:12

Just to balance it out a bit...I had it with no side-effects beyond a tender arm and feeling a bit tired the day after.

JorisBonson · 23/03/2021 13:13

I was the same - felt like I'd been hit by a truck for about 36 hours. All good now!

APJ1 · 23/03/2021 13:18

I had the same for 2-3 days after having the Oxford-AZ vaccine.

LarkDescending · 23/03/2021 13:19

It wrote off 36 hours for me too. Hope you feel better soon. Apparently the second AZ dose is much kinder.

Duckyneedsaclean · 23/03/2021 13:19

Have you taken paracetamol, OP? If not, please do to relieve symptoms.

ineedaholidayandwine · 23/03/2021 13:23

I was the same, last about 24hrs, after that had a mild headache for another 24hrs, after that just a weak arm for a few more days

BrownEyedGirl80 · 23/03/2021 13:24

@Duckyneedsaclean yes I've taken it

OP posts:
MadMadMad · 23/03/2021 13:27

I had that the day after the vaccine but it only lasted 24 hours, then another 24 hours of feeling a bit tired and then I was back to normal. DH just had a slightly tender arm!!
