And feel shocking.Anyone else?
Anything is better than Covid itself obviously but God I'm in agony.
Aching, hurting body since about 9pm had the shivers for a few hours but they seem to have gone for now.
Anyone else reacted like this? Dh had no reaction at all.

I had mine (AZ) on the Friday lunchtime and was in bed by 9pm, exhausted and freezing cold. Was fine the next morning just felt a bit hungover and my hips were a bit achey. DH felt generally "ropey" after his and very tired. Arm a bit sore but not as sore as after the flu jab.

The only person I know who hasn't had a reaction after the AZ is my boss.

skippy67 · 23/03/2021 13:46

I had my jab 24 hours ago. No side effects at all so far. I had the Oxford.

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 23/03/2021 13:50

The doctor who gave me the jab said “and if you’re very unlucky you might have a bit of a fever, but that’s less than 1% of patients” I looked at her Hmm because that’s not the odds I’d heard but didn’t challenge her. Lo and behold, nine hours later I was lying under two duvets and a blanket with my teeth chattering. Only lasted about another six hours though and DH wasn’t as ill.

I feel rubbish again after feeling slightly better earlier

OP posts:
LudoBear · 23/03/2021 15:51

Which one did you have? I had Pfizer and was absolutely fine as were everyone I know who had pfizer

SoupDragon · 23/03/2021 16:30

A friend had Pfizer and felt crap for a day.

MrsJBaptiste · 23/03/2021 16:35

I had Pfizer and was absolutely fine but then I have a suppressed immune system so won't fight back as much as other people (if I've got that right?) which could explain it.

Dowser · 23/03/2021 16:50

Good Lord, sounds dreadful.

hellcatspangle · 23/03/2021 16:55

What's the average time it takes for the side effects to start? Had mine this afternoon and I'm thinking it's worth taking paracetamol before I go to bed...

BrownEyedGirl80 · 23/03/2021 17:00

@hellscatspangle I had jab at 10am started around 9pm

BrownEyedGirl80 · 23/03/2021 17:01

I had Oxford astrazeneca

OP posts:
underneaththeash · 23/03/2021 17:30

I didn't even have a sore arm when I had mine!

Hope you feel better soon OP.

underneaththeash · 23/03/2021 17:30

Mine was AZ too. And I'm youngish and fairly fit.

speakout · 23/03/2021 17:34

MY OH was like this too- we both had ours two weeks ago.
He was quite unwell for a day, and under the weather for 2-3 days afterwards.
I had no side effects at all.

TalesTheCat · 23/03/2021 17:44

I had the astrazenica at 5pm and at 5am I woke up with severe joint pain that sister shift with cocodamol
It lasted just over a week and since then no other issues.

Housewife2010 · 23/03/2021 17:49

I had the Pfizer last month and had no symptoms. I don't think it's due to my immune system though as I'm rarely ill. I never had morning sickness or period pain either so I must be lucky .

Vintagevixen · 23/03/2021 17:56

Me. I had the AstraZeneca last Thursday.

Fine during the day but come Thursday night - never felt so unwell. Severe body shakes, started off freezing cold then hyper pyrexial, burning up. Splitting headache.

Had to get DD to school next morning, almost fainted with the effort required.

Came home slept for four hours, woke up for school pick up and felt fine. Fine since.

Will be having the booster - as I've started the process I'll finish it.

But if we ever need yearly jabs...no way. Not doing that again.

Comeback25 · 23/03/2021 18:00

A slightly sore arm.....that's it

Februarycat · 23/03/2021 18:13

I had the AstraZeneca vaccine on Saturday morning and been fine, not even a sore arm. I did take some paracetamol on the Sunday evening as I was at work Monday and thought just in case but been okay so far

Hoowhoowho · 23/03/2021 18:19

Yes five days of fever and an abscess at injection site needing antibiotics. Lovely vaccine but still better than COVID

roguetomato · 23/03/2021 18:25

Had one on Sunday. No side effects except for slightly sore arm if I touch the area. But I think I have weak immune system, I heard those with stronger immune system respond worse/fight off aggressively.

QueenPaw · 23/03/2021 18:27

@Vintagevixen apparently with AZ the first one is the worst and the second a lot better so I'm hopeful less side effects!

picknmix1984 · 23/03/2021 18:27

I've also had a bad cough. It says 1 in 10 people get that so...

Daisychainsandglitter · 23/03/2021 21:18

Had mine Sunday afternoon and spent yesterday freezing cold with the shivers and all my limbs were achy.
Feeling much better today although still have a sore arm.

TreacleTits · 23/03/2021 21:27

I fell asleep just hours after it on the couch, but I was ok...

Til the next day I had the mother of all headaches which lasted two days. Day 3 is here and my arm hurts but as long as that headache stays away....

I dosed myself with paracetamol immediately after the jag and every 4 hours after.

Husband was fine though
