Who's booked their 2021 hols?

And how many of you are going abroad?

We had 2 weeks in the Caribbean booked in October and I was going to wait until then but.....have just caved in and booked a week in Greece at the end of June as well. Was torn between waiting to see what happens and being worried that prices would go up drastically when things become more certain.

Was just interested to see what others have done?

Yes I have flights booked. They are totally movable to next year if we can't go or if quarantine is a problem etc. I live abroad so it is more a chance to see family than a proper holiday but I can't wait!

Mosaic123 · 16/03/2021 15:30

Cottage in Norfolk in early July. Sorry but I wouldn't go abroad for a year or two.

FanFckingTastic · 16/03/2021 15:32

We've booked for Greece at the end of August. We already had flights that we had rolled forward from last year, and have booked a villa that we can cancel if it looks like foreign travel is going to be a problem so I feel pretty comfortable that we will have options. Once everything opens up again I suspect that there will be a big surge in prices and limited availability. Just keeping my fingers crossed now!

We've booked for July in the UK. Not abroad (yet).

PradaBallbag · 16/03/2021 15:34

Just to add, I had my first vaccine last week and I will have had my second by the time we go away (as will my husband) so that's made a huge difference in how comfortable I am to get something booked.

We are not going anywhere. Too risky.

MrsFin · 16/03/2021 15:35

We're not ready to go abroad for hols this year.
If I'm going to catch Covid, I want to be in the U.K. when I catch it.

notdaddycool · 16/03/2021 15:38

Booked Wales in August. Don’t see the point of going overseas at the moment. So much of the UK I’ve never been to, may as well take the opportunity. Also good to support UK economy.

BarbaraofSeville · 16/03/2021 15:39

We never book more than a month or two in advance, so might start looking for September in July/August, but what's most concerning me at the moment is that, even if we get COVID under control in the UK, if other countries aren't in the same place, restrictions and quarantine requirements might make it difficult/impossible or just not as nice as you'd hope.

I don't want to be stuck in accommodation or having to book restaurants etc on holiday. I'd rather not bother. Plus DP is self employed and can't WFH so if he has to quarantine he will lose 2 weeks pay, so just adds to the potential waste of money it could be.

Booked for Summer 2021 and Easter & Summer 2022! Family of teachers so we know our dates & know where we want to go. I’m a planner and it’s a dream come true to have 2022 flights open to book. 😳

RunnerDown · 16/03/2021 15:41

Very frustrated that people think it’s fine to travel abroad. We’ve all been through so much to suppress the virus. With the vaccination programme there is light at the end of the tunnel. But people still willing to risk importing potential new variants

Nowthereistwo · 16/03/2021 15:43

Booked 2 UK campsites for July and August - cant wait.

PradaBallbag · 16/03/2021 15:44

@RunnerDown if the government say that I can travel, then I will travel. We can't have our lives on hold forever. There are also thousands of people who work in the travel industry who are relying on things getting more back to normal for their livelihood. I don't intend to remain locked up forever in my home.

We have three European hols booked - I can't wait! We managed to go last summer and it was amazing to get a break in the sun. We have a few weekends booked for the UK as well but the weather is so unpredictable that they could easily be a wash out.

MrsMalcolmFuckingTucker · 16/03/2021 15:45

Me!!! I have a caravan holiday booked, a trip to Centerparcs, a (very optimistic!) holiday to America and a week in Spain for some winter sun. I’m under no illusions that the holidays abroad may not go ahead (especially America) but I’m excited anyway!

@RunnerDown when would you say it’ll be ok to travel abroad? Genuine question

MrsMalcolmFuckingTucker · 16/03/2021 15:46

@PradaBallbag couldn’t agree more! Life needs to get back to normal at some point, we cannot live like this forever.

AuntieMarys · 16/03/2021 15:48

A week in this country. We shall have a dozen more short breaks here. Abroad can wait till next year...I just cannot be arsed

MorningNinja · 16/03/2021 15:48

Croatia in June, Greece in August - both booked.

Hopefully Canada in July.

PradaBallbag · 16/03/2021 15:53

Ah I'm glad I'm not the only one. Was questioning myself for ages before I pushed the 'book' button this morning!

Not going anywhere this year. But next year we might go crazy.

VintageStitchers · 16/03/2021 15:57

Not been on holiday anywhere together as a family since 2012, mainly due to DH illness. Sadly, I don’t think it’s going to happen anytime in the next 2 years.

Instead we’ll focus on having a few nice days out.

Doraismissing · 16/03/2021 15:59

Just booked Christmas skiing.

Looking forward to it now as we usually ski at least once a year and haven't been now for 2 years

guffaux · 16/03/2021 16:36

we've got 4 uk holidays booked between April and December- 2 of those have been transferred from Dec 20 and Feb 21- we found booking what we wanted for our summer breaks very difficult- everywhere we usually go (Yorkshire Moors Coast and Dales/Lakes District were either booked or prices up by a third plus - we usually book something around October and so far havent found what we are looking for at a price we feel is fair (as in we expect prices to have gone up, but not by a third or more)

BrownEyedGirl80 · 16/03/2021 16:41

We moved our August 2020 holiday over to this August.Really looking forward to it

TokyoSushi · 16/03/2021 16:43

We've got Cornwall booked for June and keeping a very close eye on the summer, would love to go abroad, even if it's only a week in Majorca! If we're allowed, and there aren't lots of restrictions in place then we'll go.
