Just that really? If you got a pay increase and/or a bonus this year...what sector do you work in?

OP posts:
LegendDairy · 16/03/2021 19:01

5% pay rise. Private healthcare operations.

ListenLinda · 16/03/2021 19:02

Yes to both. Financial Services.

DrunkBetch · 16/03/2021 19:05

I work in banking and I got a 5.75% performance related pay rise. More senior people who usually get a bonus in addition to this didn't get one this year.

SnarkyBag · 16/03/2021 19:05

5% pay rise private healthcare

PinkSpring · 16/03/2021 19:06

Yes, got a pay rise and bonus. Although bonus was 1.5% which is the lowest I have ever received - it's usually around 5%. Bonus worked out around 10% of salary.

Work in a legal setting

Amazed at the bonus for covering furloughed staff, not sure that was what furlough cash was intended for Hmm
In my case, the furlough cash was used appropriately. The company had shut down all services when outpatient procedures were put on hold by the government. 95% of the people working had their roles put on pause. The remaining handful who were not furloughed had to keep the company on life support/do project based work until we were allowed to reopen again. Then once the company was making money again, those who had kept things afloat were given a thank you via bonus.

A cup of coffee. NHS nurse.

leiaskye · 16/03/2021 19:11

High street bank.
1% pay rise. We usually get around £6k bonus, getting nothing this year.

Oblomov21 · 16/03/2021 19:26

Finance. No. Haven't for years! Angry

huggzy · 16/03/2021 19:31

I'll get a pay rise next month because the national minimum wage goes up and will be higher than my current wage. No bonus.

Marmite27 · 16/03/2021 19:31

I got both. I work in financial services.

Confused1010 · 16/03/2021 19:50

IT - 5% pay rise and a small Christmas bonus. Appreciated all the same as was not initially expecting anything but business remained strong throughout lockdowns.

tallullabluebella · 16/03/2021 19:53

Hospitality. Received a pay rise in recognition of the extra workload and responsibility taken on when open last year, and will continue with once open again.

SweetSouls · 16/03/2021 19:59

Yes. Financial sector.

25% bonus which is pretty good considering what a disaster the year has been. Pay increase not dissimilar, promotion.

Remember though OP, comparison is the thief of joy, and us folk in city finance jobs are probably going to be the very extreme end of this spectrum!

MsRinky · 16/03/2021 20:06

HE, no pay rise (national pay agreements) but our institution gave everyone a bonus in recognition of additional work due to the pandemic.

Husband in tech, got a 5% raise and a 20% bonus.

fireplaceburning · 16/03/2021 20:08

This is depressing, so those on furlough get pay rises and I get a pay freeze, have had to work double my hours for no extra pay. Life isn't fair is it 🤷🏼‍♀️. Lovely pay cut in real terms for me

fireplaceburning · 16/03/2021 20:08

Don't even get tea or coffee!

LittleRen · 16/03/2021 20:21

Online retail

SardineJam · 16/03/2021 20:25

No payrise but a 64% (of a month's salary) bonus which was unexpected - aviation industry, so all things considered, even more unexpected

AdaFuckingShelby · 16/03/2021 20:27

Public services. Bonus is I've still got a job.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/03/2021 20:31

I'm on minumum wage so technically I'll be getting a "pay rise" next month. Council tax increasing, bills increasing but my wage is only increasing by 30p an hour, whoopee.

Suzi888 · 16/03/2021 20:31

1% I think Confused L.A we get bonuses for call outs.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/03/2021 20:31

Sorry, that's 20p an hour, not 30.

Panda368 · 16/03/2021 20:32

2k bonus last month (accidental was supposed to be 1k) then a garanteed bonus at our internal year end in june or july of 3-4k.
Plus a 10-15% pay rise at this point too but this is carried over from last year because all pay rises were canceled. I've not had a pay rise since 2018

Its been a hard year and about 50% of the team has been cut with some taking hefty pay cuts. But things havent been quite as catastrophic as predicted so its a reward for surviving / flat growth/possible minor improvement from last year
Its been a grind

Job - designer.
