Just that really? If you got a pay increase and/or a bonus this year...what sector do you work in?

OP posts:
TriSarahTops · 16/03/2021 15:54

No pay rise (last one was Oct 2019), but I got a reasonable bonus. I’m in-house legal.

katmarie · 16/03/2021 15:54

I work for a cloud based software company, I got a small Christmas bonus, and a payrise this month. Covid has forced more companies into investing in online services which worked out in my company's favour.

QforCucumber · 16/03/2021 16:01

Small bonus, small payrise - work in Payroll for an accountancy firm

SingleHandSue · 16/03/2021 16:03

DH got a pay rise of an extra 60p an hour, he works for a builders’ merchant.

HforHavana · 16/03/2021 16:03

Office side of construction. Bonus at Christmas in place of a pay rise as he couldn't review figures until year end (March).
Was the only person in the company who got bonus. (I do payroll so know who gets what).

GintyMcGinty · 16/03/2021 16:04

I got chocolates.

Pay freeze last year, pay freeze this year.

Third Sector.

ClaudiaWankleman · 16/03/2021 16:06

I got a promotion, but the base pay for my pay band was decreased very slightly. I am not complaining - it is probably the biggest raise I will get in my life.
I also got a bonus, although it is yet to be paid and is only 1/4 of what I would have expected given no COVID.
Finance.

Scotinoz · 16/03/2021 16:19

@Comefromaway

Construction. We do a lot of work in prisons, hospitals & care homes and worked throughout lockdowns.
Also construction. But wonder if I can use random Mumsnet people as further demonstration to our board that their continued pay cuts, when we’re profiting across all sectors, is ripping the utter piss 😅
lightyearsahead · 16/03/2021 16:21

2.5% pay increase & £10k bonus. Finance, I was happy with that.

VenusClapTrap · 16/03/2021 16:24

Not me, but Dh gave all his employees pay rises and bonuses.

VenusClapTrap · 16/03/2021 16:24

Sorry meant to say - IT

LadyCatStark · 16/03/2021 16:28

DH works in the food industry and is getting (from April) a 5% pay rise and broadly his usual bonuses.

I work in the public sector and got 2 extra days pay in December (most of which went on my student loan 🙄) and yet another pay freeze.

harknesswitch · 16/03/2021 16:31

I didn't get a raise or bonus, but we got extra holiday and we work half a day every Friday, same pay as before

harknesswitch · 16/03/2021 16:31

Oh and I work for an IT company

ValpolicellaPrimitivo · 16/03/2021 16:33

DH did, works in finance.

WeAllHaveWings · 16/03/2021 16:34

We get our payrise/cash bonus and free shares in August/September and last year it was £0 for all 3.

Drinks/alcohol sector, so heavily impacted by pubs etc being closed.

dreamsarefree · 16/03/2021 16:41

Amazed at the bonus for covering furloughed staff, not sure that was what furlough cash was intended for Hmm

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 16/03/2021 16:52

DH did. He's in IT in the financial sector.

User26272829 · 16/03/2021 16:53

Yes got full bonus and pay rise of about 3%. Work in Pharma

EggysMom · 16/03/2021 16:56

Public sector. No annual pay rise in January. Bonus is retrospective in summer for previous financial year, expecting that to be zero due to industry impact of Covid.

MrsJohnLuther · 16/03/2021 17:10

Third sector. No pay rise last year, not announced this year. £25 in m ands vouchers at Christmas! (A first!)

Lofu · 16/03/2021 17:14

Yes to both, I work in clinical trials so we have been very busy!

BlueThursday · 16/03/2021 17:31

High street bank: no pay rise, no bonus and no shares which is what we usually get

TuckFriar · 16/03/2021 17:33

Education

10% pay rise

AndyBarbersIntern · 16/03/2021 17:35

I work in HE. I had my annual increment but we didn't get the usual cost of living increase (this was the first time ever for me, I've worked there 16 years).
DH works as an accountant for a private company and got his usual 10 percent of salary bonus, plus a pay rise of 5 percent.
