Meg and Harry supporting race and mental health charities in UK

Brilliant to hear this. They have approached three charities in UK including Mind and a charity to increase diversity in the media and press.

Great, doing good based on their experiences.

Unfortunately there's a lot of people in this country who lap up headlines like that and then feed off of it elsewhere

Mummy195 · 18/03/2021 07:54

@ListeningQuietly

The Royal Family has weathered much much worse.
And the core of the family know that major change will come after the Queen dies.
Harry was meant to be inside the tent being protected.
He chose to leave.
His dad is bunging him money every month.
His brother might not.

You are not really listening quietly are you. For someone who has nothing against H&M, you sure discredit them a lot.

Maybe you did not hear the part where his dad has not been funding him since last year.

This vet puts it very clear. H did his duty to protect us when we needed him, but the same could not be done for him.

Mummy195 · 18/03/2021 07:59

Currently, no one donates to Archiwell. They give you a direct link to the charity they are promoting if you want to donate. They have not even hosted any dinners yet like most charities - even then, the dinner would have a specific cause.

H&M have been paying out of their own pockets. They did that for Migrateful, Camfed, Mind and Mayhew.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 18/03/2021 08:00

Would you expect your father to fund you and your family in your late thirties when you’d left the family firm and moved abroad? Then dissed him publicly on TV? Especially if your partner told her friends how horrible your family are at every opportunity ? It’s a big ask.

I cannot believe ITV spent all morning yesterday bashing H&M for the Gayle Interview. When it was the palace who leaked to the press about the phone call. Gayle was only answering what Roya Nikkah had printed. Infact, they went to the trouble of cutting out the part that they were answering on that same show.

Here is the clip, look at the first few minutes, the presenter talks about what Roya wrote and Gayle answers with what H said.

A pity the guests they invited on GMB did not read the weekend papers beforehand, they would have known that fact.

And here is Roya herself, bragging about her 'exclusive'.

SozzledSausage · 18/03/2021 08:38

Where is all the evidence that the palace leaked to the press? I haven't seen anything. The only people spouting off have been H and M and their mate on CBS who apparently rang them.

It was in the Sunday Times as I linked it.

The insidious 'palace sources' . At least H&M are straight forward, sending out their own names with reputable, known jounalists. Not some dodgy, don't say it was me, side street source. Who do they think they are fooling with 'keeping it private'.

SozzledSausage · 18/03/2021 10:07

I can't see the Sunday Times link.

I think H and M have dealt with this appallingly. If they couldn't reach a resolution with the Royal Family why tell all to Oprah? What are they hoping to achieve? Public support for them in the UK has dropped to an all time low since that interview. They say they have the upmost respect for the Queen but are quite happy to call her family a bunch of racists. I think they underestimate the support for the Queen.

I think they have portrayed themselves to be incredibly self indulgent and spoilt at a time when lots of people are struggling. I can't take them seriously and regardless whatever the outcome is I have no interest in any of their future endeavours. I cannot take the pair of them seriously.

Marmaladeagain · 18/03/2021 10:13

Mummy195 - I see you're still valiantly defending M&H's corner. To go further with the boxing analogy:

The UK public are watching a once in a generation boxing match which has been heavily promoted. However, nothing went as hoped and we're watching as the referee counts to 10. We're only at number 1 at the moment - there's a long slow way until 10, or so it seems from the losing boxer's point of view.

The boxer was very confident and thought it would be an easy fight and he'd be able to produce one knockout punch early in the match and claim victory.

The losing boxer put everything he had into that punch but it missed the intended target and was left reeling. He then started taking punches left, right and centre after leaving himself so foolishly exposed.

The viewers and the referee know for sure by everything that led up to the boxer being "counted to 10" that the boxer is on his way out of the ring on a stretcher, never to return.

The audience and the referee are not holding their breath as the fight is clearly lost. In fact, some of the audience are getting up from their seats and leaving the arena.

Except, the boxer and the hardcore fans that is - they think if the referee would just give him one more chance he'll be able to show what he's made of.

However, losing always starts a long, long while before the actual final countdown to 10.

M&H are the losing boxer that lost the fight in that analogy, if you're not clear.

As I say, we're only at 1/10 so far - but the fight is lost, they and you just don't know it yet.

SozzledSausage · 18/03/2021 10:15

I also haven't seen of the Queen's mates ranting on Twitter about Meghan lying or UK presenters saying they had a chat with Camilla and Charles at the weekend about phonecalls not being particularly productive.

Funny that, perhaps the RF do not feel the need to 'influence' the media in the same way that H and M do.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 18/03/2021 10:27

Oh PLEASE! So the RF are allowed to talk to trashy tabloids on a daily basis in a cowardly, yellow-bellyed 'don't print my name' way, but when H&M defend themselves on record from the palace 'leaks' and smears they are 'appalling'

The RF are leakier than a colander. They are in bed with the tabloids. See the headline I posted in my last post. What kind of 'very not a racist family' are happy to collude in disgusting headlines like that?

I'm glad H&M have had their say so now people know it is the RF leaking all these horrible headlines.

Hahahaha

The queen's mates are doing exactly what you just claimed they are not. In the tabloids and in a couple of broadsheets. They are also doing it on Twitter. Who do you think these 'sources' are?

Mummy195 · 18/03/2021 10:46

@HmmmmmmInteresting

Exactly !

Shhhh........don't say it was the Queen, Charles, Kate, William, etc........ shhhh............but here is a tit bit of information for you................shhhhh..........wink, wink....................it came from a 'source'.

Wink
SozzledSausage · 18/03/2021 10:49

Is that you, Meg?

SozzledSausage · 18/03/2021 10:55

Where are all these palace leaks?

Where are all the Twitter posts from friends and family?

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 18/03/2021 10:59

The more Haz and Me-gain continue the more they are damaging their own brand. The podcast had low figures because they had become irrelevant. I get the need to do the Oprah interview to spark some attention for Haz and his mental health series coming up. However they went to far and are now back peddling like mad. The more they allow people to poke the beast. The more they will damage their own brand. No doubt Haz will now get those viewers but most will be watching to rip anything he says apart. Not really what he set out to achieve is it.

Roussette · 18/03/2021 11:34

Oh purleeeease!

The RF only exist in our opinions based on the media. They have the most efficient PR machine in the world which will feed us a diet of exactly what they want us to know.

There is a fine line between royals' proactive press relations and desire for image control. They wine and dine the press in the hope they gain favourable headlines. They feed it with what they want.

I also haven't seen of the Queen's mates ranting on Twitter

Of course not! They just use the words 'A Palace Source' ! This is the way it works!

GoLightlyontheEarth · 18/03/2021 11:39

Funny how you know so much about it Rousette.

Roussette · 18/03/2021 11:45

Funny how you make a weird comment like that.

I know nothing. I just read a lot apart from the DailyFail.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 18/03/2021 11:46

You are so witty!

So irrelevant that you post about them several times a day. So irrelevant that you have a cute little nickname for her when she doesn't even know you're alive. So irrelevant that you search for data on how many views they got on their podcast. So irrelevant that you just admitted you view their stuff to rip what they say apart.

Don't you realise it's the attention fans like you give that is fueling the interest in them and the money there is to be made. And if you don't think you're a fan, you're actually deluding yourself. You focus more energy on them than self-proclaimed fans. You're in the same category as Piers Morgan with his obsession with Meghan. Get help!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 18/03/2021 12:17

I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment and have got bored researching the vaccine stuff. Love a bit of psychology and this is interesting. When I go back to work won't have the time. Also pretty sure I am not their target audience. Which they are now turning with every release of extra information. How about you then? What is your interest and frequent posting about?

I abhor racist bullying so will keep calling it out
Marmaladeagain · 18/03/2021 12:22

trulydeeply
you don't need to explain why this issue is of interest, least of all to those that have a peculiar love-in and blindness to the many wider issues and implications.

Bit like someone describing a view with the wrong glasses on - they just can't see all the things they're missing Grin

Marmaladeagain · 18/03/2021 12:23

I think calling everyone you point at a racist would also class as racist bullying.
