Meg and Harry supporting race and mental health charities in UK

Brilliant to hear this. They have approached three charities in UK including Mind and a charity to increase diversity in the media and press.

Great, doing good based on their experiences.
@Nanasueathome

Are you serious. You surely cannot sit here and drag H&M like this and you know nothing about their charities !
How have I dragged H&M?
I’ve simply asked you to provide information/links to the charities you claim they support

On another note, looks like they’ve spoken to PC and PW and then had a conversation with Gayle King, telling her everything that was said

IrmaFayLear · 16/03/2021 14:29

Why would they do another tell all?

Marmaladeagain · 16/03/2021 14:35

Nanasueathome - wow classy as ever. Discussing conversations at the weekend with William and Charles as "not productive" ie. they didn't give into the emotional blackmail.

As I said upthread: the phrase that you don't trust someone, they'd sell their own grandmother is absolutely true in H&M's case.

Really, what charity or public or professional person would ever trust someone that repeatedly wishes to publicly repeat snippets of conversations which they feel are to their advantage.

Charities would be wise to stay well, well away from these two. They can't be trusted with a family discussion let alone details of business.

How long before there's a tell-all on Oprah? Beware Oprah - remember: when someone tells you who they are, believe them.

www.newsweek.com/latest-prince-harry-william-talks-meghan-markle-friend-gayle-king-1576485

Gayle King reveals f/u to latest "he said/she said" in the family extravaganza.

When I was reading it I got to the bit about "cry" and I glazed over... I'm sure the world will too in due course.

IrmaFayLear · 16/03/2021 14:39

I hope they do a tell all on George Clooney. I’m quite interested in what goes on there! I wonder if M was doing some secret camera work at his pad. Now, who else are they friends with.....

Marmaladeagain · 16/03/2021 14:45

Yes! George Clooney - I wonder if he realised he needs a non disclosure agreement to have dinner with his "friends".

Lots will be backing away out the door from these two. Hey Hilary Clinton, hope you haven't let slip anything that might do you damage.

Hey-ho it's all about blackmail after all, age old way to climb the greasy pole of power. Come back down to earth with a bump these two as not clever enough to be discreet about it - any of their "friends" would be wise to start applying a bit of washing up liquid to the greasy pole of power they've passed to H&M.

It's only the RF connection that gives these any interest. Harry, you silly boy you've grown up and turned into another Paul Burrell.

ListeningQuietly · 16/03/2021 14:59

Sophie Wessex does lots of charity stuff round here
I live in Wessex
One never hears ANYTHING about her extended family / personal life / clothes choices.
She gets and allowance to do a job.
She does it really well.
Her husband knows that he is low down the "list" but does his job really well.

its a shame that H&M were not willing to do the job they were offered.
Luck that Anne was willing to carry on and that E&S were willing to stay on.

Manners maketh man.

rosetylersbiggun · 16/03/2021 15:03

Some of the UK charities they were formally royal patrons of explicitly asked to re-hire Harry and Meghan as non-royal patrons (and Harry and Meghan said yes), after the Queen forcibly removed the patronages. That says everything about how desperate the UK charities who have actually worked with Harry and Meghan are to keep them, having seen the direct action they've taken in things like the cookbook, Smart Set, Sentebale, etc.

On the other hand, one British charity approached the Queen to say they didn't want Andrew as patron anymore and requested permission to get rid of him, and the Queen refused, quite literally forcing Andrew onto people who don't want him.

Marmaladeagain · 16/03/2021 15:04

Yes, I like Sophie - she has attended at charities in my area too, very low key. I like her lots, don't like to keep saying "just like Edward" as if it's a bad thing, just he's not Hollywood!

I really like her.

Marmaladeagain · 16/03/2021 15:05

I'm not anywhere near Wessex, so she does get around a bit BTW.

rosetylersbiggun · 16/03/2021 15:05

I don't think Mumsnet (which tends to skew older, and very white and middle class - and of course has been invaded by known trolls and previously banned posters like the ones who set up two separate forums as places to discuss Mumsnet and how best to troll Mumsnet and get Meghan fans kicked off and deleted, and as places to engage in worse abuse and racism against Meghan than Mumsnet will allow) have any idea how popular Meghan is with young and non-white British people.

All I see on social media and in the companies I work for is support for Meghan.

MummyJ12 · 16/03/2021 15:09

As far as I’m aware, the only UK patronage that they (Harry on his own to be specific) continue to have is the Invictus Games Foundation. This was never a Royal Patronage and Harry set it up so it makes perfect sense that this patronage continues. It’s basically his charity.

ListeningQuietly · 16/03/2021 15:11

Names and links please
UK Charity patrons are a matter of public record

Harry is still on this one sentebale.org/who-we-are/

Meghan was on this one in 2019 smartworks.org.uk/who-we-are/the-duchess-of-sussex/

which others

And then people get older and wiser....and opinions change. Social media is no way to gauge the mood of the country - check out the last few elections for a start
Marmaladeagain · 16/03/2021 15:13

rose - do you work for Jeremy Kyle type show? lots of "he said, she said" it's big business? That would make sense, otherwise I'm not falling for it.

MN are not allowing racism. It is an abhorrent thing and to be taken seriously not damn people publicly like H&M did as being racist. Cowardly in fact.

ListeningQuietly · 16/03/2021 15:16

Harry is still the Patron of Invictus
invictusgamesfoundation.org/foundation/governance/

BUT
Patrons are only useful when they turn up to events, drag in donors, create engagement, get publicity, gladhand volunteers

H&M are 6000 miles away
they are of little use to charities in the UK

and flying around the world to promote sustainability is all a bit pre Greta

1234abzee · 16/03/2021 15:16

This charity support by H&M is just a way to try and build up a rival court to the RF. It won't work.

MummyJ12 · 16/03/2021 15:17

Sentebale is another charity founded by Harry. (Sorry, co-founded).

rosetylersbiggun · 16/03/2021 15:24

Interesting that a massive YouGov poll found that only 48% of Brits surveyed (less than half) believe Harry and Meghan did the interview in order to promote themselves.

A full 45% believed everything Harry and Meghan said, nearly twice the percentage who didn't believe anything they said.

www.newsweek.com/meghan-markles-bombshell-royal-family-oprah-winfrey-interview-damaged-both-sides-1576226

Very impressive, considering the massive hatchet jobs the royal-controlled British media have been doing on them.

1234abzee · 16/03/2021 15:32

I think I'd describe H&M's interview as the hatchet job! It won't get them anywhere and their behaviour is sad and tawdry.

ListeningQuietly · 16/03/2021 15:49

rosetyler
which charities have M&H gone back to ?
HOW do M&H support UK charities?

Quirrelsotherface · 16/03/2021 16:01

I would like to see Harry and Meghan supporting and encouraging the mental health of their own families before approaching MH charities. Charity begins at home, after all. As it happens they are doing all they can to destroy their families (seemingly with the one exception of Meghan's mum)

Roussette · 16/03/2021 16:07

Prince Phillip did not have surgery. He had a coronary stent. My DH has had two. It is a procedure. Not surgery.

1234abzee · 16/03/2021 16:08

I'd also like H&M to explain quite how they think they are champions of MH when they were spiteful and cruel about members of the RF last week....

That’s exactly what I think is going on. I think it’s beyond crass the way M’s friends keep leaking all the time. The latest is Oprah’s best pal describing how phone calls went between Charles William and Harry at the weekend. It’s quite pathetic.
