Brilliant to hear this. They have approached three charities in UK including Mind and a charity to increase diversity in the media and press.

Great, doing good based on their experiences.

Indeed! Extremely crass! When they go low, we go high, will be the RF's mantra.....

RubyViolet · 16/03/2021 16:27

@IrmaFayLear

I hope they do a tell all on George Clooney. I’m quite interested in what goes on there! I wonder if M was doing some secret camera work at his pad. Now, who else are they friends with.....
And Elton John. They stayed at his place in the South of France and were on his jet, would love to see pictures of his place. I bet it’s gorgeous. The Clooneys are the big one though ! Go on Meghan spill the ☕️.
Marmaladeagain · 16/03/2021 16:29

rosetylersbiggun - you mean a US publication.

As we've all said we understand the US don't understand - at the moment.

Once critical thinking is applied, things will come clear. Just takes a bit of time.

I really wouldn't worry on the UK's behalf we all grew up with Harry - and it's not that surprising the way he's acting. Just disappointing really that he couldn't make a more grown up way of exiting the RF.

@Roussette

Prince Phillip did not have surgery. He had a coronary stent. My DH has had two. It is a procedure. Not surgery.
Even so, it’s a pretty major thing for someone who is 99 years old. Hence the need for such a long stay in hospital. It’s been 4 weeks, not 24 hours. It’s not to be underplayed.

Roussette · 16/03/2021 17:01

mummyJ12 I know that. At that sort of age any sort of procedure carries its risks. It's just that surgery indicates something different than what it was.
Anyway, glad to hear he is back 'home' and all is well.

1234abzee · 16/03/2021 17:06

I wonder if Harry ever questions his actions since the marriage?

Mummy195 · 16/03/2021 17:07

The UK charities I remember at the top of my head are with direct donations, never mind the association and platform of late
-Migrateful
-CAMFED
-Presspad

And there is also :

  • The Covid 19 support for Feeding Britain
-Martin Luther King day for vets
  • Genesis Women

All their charities/patronages are keeping them, except the Royal ones. So that will be
-Invictus

  • Sentebale
  • Rhino conservation
-Wellchild -Mayhew -Smartworks

I may be missing a few names here, not sure, just the ones I remember.

Everybody else, including the forces who made a tribute video, and national theatre and ofcourse Commonwealth have all expressed how sad they are that they will no longer be their patrons, but they have no choice as it was royal patronages.

As I said, they only officially step down end of the month (though the announcement was made earlier), so this is quite good for such a short time.

H was working with charities in Africa without having to be physically in the country, no problem. He can do the same here.

Mummy195 · 16/03/2021 17:14

@ListeningQuietly

Sophie Wessex does lots of charity stuff round here I live in Wessex One never hears ANYTHING about her extended family / personal life / clothes choices. She gets and allowance to do a job. She does it really well. Her husband knows that he is low down the "list" but does his job really well.

its a shame that H&M were not willing to do the job they were offered.
Luck that Anne was willing to carry on and that E&S were willing to stay on.

Manners maketh man.

Actually,
The Wessex foundation last year budget was that they made around £700, all the while they had over £100 000 spend. No one seemed to question that. The excuse was that Edward was waiting for his title of Duke of Edinburgh and they did not do any promotion for the charities.

As we all know KM has had more than one charity shut down.

So, why were the press all over MM. I'm sure she thought she would be treated the same way as Sophie, who only got hounded for actually doing something bad.

A stent is an operation and anything at Philip’s age is a concern. Elderly people often have more severe coronary artery disease and may have a greater need for a stent, therefore, benefit all the more from it. However, I’d be very surprised if all is well as you say. I’d imagine the real reason Charles went to see Philip was because he had no alternative than to have the stent and the risk it could develop into surgery being required with a probability that he wouldn’t survive.
VanillaIce · 16/03/2021 17:31

Why the hell is Gayle King (Oprah’s former producer and now presenter herself) giving a running commentary on private conversations between members of the British royal family?

Is there nothing interesting going on in America for her to discuss?

And how can anyone mend relations with H&M if they’re going to feed every phone call to CBS news??

Mummy195 · 16/03/2021 17:34

If things were really that serious, then surely the queen would drop everything, hand over to Charles for a little bit while she pays a vigil by her husband' side. She would not be jokingly unveiling statues, preaching about vaccines etc.

Yes, it was a procedure. And thank goodness he is fine now.

I thought the usual thing was ‘spill the royal beans and get excommunicated’?

Good on H&M to talk and have names sources, who outright come out with their names and faces and also say that they got the information from H&M.

All along we have been fed the 'palace sources' nonsense for ages now, we've heard enough of it.

No sent to the tower of London. They can't do that this time though in case Harry pinches the crown jewels
GoLightlyontheEarth · 16/03/2021 17:39

This is what comes across to me. The total lack of introspection. I heard a commentator remark on this too. Everything that has gone wrong, literally everything is someone else’s fault. They are perpetually aggrieved. There is a total and utter lack of willingness to look at their own part in what has happened , not just with the RF but with M’s family.
derxa · 16/03/2021 17:41

Absolutely despicable comment. What's wrong with you?

1234abzee · 16/03/2021 17:42

Agree. He doesn't have the same joie de vivre about him - looks perpetually glum and downcast...isolated from friends, family and no links now to his beloved military.

Any loving wife would be worried about HIS mental health.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 16/03/2021 17:44

This is Harry😡

CBS the only news channel to show a picture on TV of Diana as she was dieing.

Harry condemned a French publication a few years later when published that photo

Harry is a totally...............(Feel free to fill in the blanks. Pretty sure William has!)

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 16/03/2021 17:45

In case people don't know both Oprah car crash interview and GK show are on CBS

RubyViolet · 16/03/2021 17:52

Truly, lt’s hard to get your head around this. But it’s true.

CBS bought and broadcast Pap shots of Princess Diana from the car crash.

They were taken as she lay dying in the car wreckage.

Harry is working with CBS.

1234abzee · 16/03/2021 17:53

I also think that Diana would be appalled at what H is doing - she was very keen that W inherit the throne and didn't want to do anything to hinder that. She worked have got M sussed at 20 paces.
