Brilliant to hear this. They have approached three charities in UK including Mind and a charity to increase diversity in the media and press.

Great, doing good based on their experiences.

Is this part of the new brand? Spreading love, compassion and understanding the challenges of mental health or some other such bollocks?

Unless it’s to your family where then you just malign them in public in front of millions. No real compassion or love shown there!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 16/03/2021 12:33

Really feeling the love and compassion towards Grannie that they both claim to adore. The poor woman's elderly husband has just had heart surgery. Nobody is concerned about Grannie's mental health it seems. The telling of their truth just couldn't be delayed a few weeks.

I'm a young ethnic minority woman and I'm not a Harry and Meghan fan, so I don't think it's true to say that the only people who don't support them are old, racist bigots. I do think the media disproportionately and unfairly focus on Meghan as opposed to Harry and I'm sure race and gender do play into that.

Interestingly my parents are a lot more sympathetic to them, despite being old! The difference is that they know very little about the monarchy and I do think that plays a big part in how people react to them.

Interesting that none of the M & H fans choose to address the questions I have raised about the " charities " that they are purported to be " supporting "
from 6000 miles away in a mansion

They left the Royal Family and the UK
bye then

Mummy195 · 16/03/2021 12:52

They are supporting charities all over the world.

Probably simply the case that it was already scheduled for broadcast when Prince Philip was admitted, and they didn't have the clout to get it changed.

He has now left hospital, so all water under the bridge now.

List and evidence:

I think it's more ethereal than that - they emit good vibes through wireless technology from their US mansion whilst sat around the pool. Multi-tasking, whilst on the phone to Oprah.

They could be the new Uri Gellers for the younger generation - thinking nice thoughts to change the world ie. bending spoons and changing the world with their benevolence.

Emitting good vibes are a whole lot easier than living a an actual "kind" life - starting with their families.

No. one. believes. they. give. a .shit. about.anything.other.than.themselves.
I sent that my morse code that from my ordinary residence in the UK.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 16/03/2021 13:01

I wonder if will watch it?

jessstan2 · 16/03/2021 13:01

@ListeningQuietly

Archewell is still new. So far, the ones I remember off the top of my head is the World Central Kitchen and they have donated hats to the poor in New Zealand. Then there are the UK charities too.

As their critics, you should surely know what they are doing. Do you only read the tabloids? Cause they will never tell you what they do.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 16/03/2021 13:11

Donates hats to the poor in NZ? What the hell?

Off the top of your head, can you recall any UK charities they are currently supporting please?

I’m pretty sure that they have hats in NZ... In fact I defiantly bought one in Christchurch. Maybe that was a typo.
GoLightlyontheEarth · 16/03/2021 13:19

It’s very easy isn’t it to sit in the lap of luxury wearing designer clothes with an army of staff to ‘donate’ things now and then and do a few zoom calls. I’d hardly calling it putting themselves out in any way.

ListeningQuietly · 16/03/2021 13:19

Here is their website
archewell.com/foundation

No UK charities there

Compassion in Action
is about as meaningless as it gets

ListeningQuietly · 16/03/2021 13:22

Here is their old website
sussexroyal.com/
again lots of Barnum platitudes
but no evidence of real action

And NO major UK charity will take them on as patrons
while the relationship with the Royal family is so poor.

Mummy195 · 16/03/2021 13:22

@Nanasueathome

Are you serious. You surely cannot sit here and drag H&M like this and you know nothing about their charities !

IrmaFayLear · 16/03/2021 13:42

What is this hats stuff ?!!!!! Please, please tell me it’s true !!!

Mummy195 · 16/03/2021 13:48

Get over yourself. Easy to scoff if you can afford one, but what about the homeless etc. What privileged thoughts.

Marmaladeagain · 16/03/2021 13:51

oh i think you must have cross posted - Listeningquietly helped you out there Mummy195 - it is in fact a bit more weird that such big fans have so few detail on their heroes.

I wonder if H&M realise how little respect they have left in the UK after the Oprah spectacle? I don't think they do, yet - that is or they wouldn't have made another crassly timed announcement.

Harry is well known here for putting his foot in it, Meghan might need more new shoes than she expected - the stench follows.
