I would say accidentally throwing my Nintendo Wii remote into the telly and breaking it.

Stepped on hulk cracked my toe bone (always doing this)
Yes that would do it

At college as a trainee nursery nurse I was asked to take a display down using scissors as they didn't have a staple remover. I queried this and was told not to argue. So I did it.

The scissors got a particularly snug fitting staple in the wall so I just pulled and hoped for the best.
The scissors came out faster than I'd expected and stabbed me in the nose.

I was taken to Casualty and told if it had been another 2mm to my right I'd have been blinded.

My fellow trainees called me Edward Scissorhands for months. :(

vampirethriller · 09/03/2021 19:19

Gave myself serious burns by flipping boiling hot CupaSoup up my face with a spoon.

Marylou62 · 09/03/2021 19:24

Drank way too much delicious rum punch too quickly.. (not much of a drinker ) Felt faint in the heat and tried to get to the cool living room.. Didn't make it and was found unconscious .. Had broken 5 ribs and my shoulder.. (probably fell on the fireplace) 6 weeks later multiple blood clots in both lungs... Took 2 years to recover...

My car was hit by a train.

FurrySlipperBoots · 09/03/2021 19:25

I fell off my horse when she jumped a 5 bar gate from point blank range. We were standing in the gateway to let a tractor past and the farmer's dog jumped down and attacked my dog. The dogs got under her legs and she freaked out (understandably!) She tried to jump the gate, got her front legs caught in the bars, managed to get them out and tried again, this time clearing it! She was a 14.1 pony and it was a full size 5 bar gate!! The really absurd thing was that I stayed on for the jump, but slipped out of the saddle once she was in the field.

Slipped on a ping pong ball and dislocated my knee cap

Whatisthisfuckery · 09/03/2021 19:27

Sitting on the bottom step, just finished on the phone, fussing my labrador who was sat between my knees with my chin on her head. Dog did a huge sneeze, brought her head up under my chin and knocked me clean out.

  1. Tripped over the cat, stubbed my toe on a linen chest and split the end of my big toe like a ripe tomato.
  2. Slipped off a 1 inch curb after stepping on a wet leaf, and sprained my ankle, with a bruise running up to my knee.
  3. Stepped on a large chunk of gravel, sprained my (other) ankle and cracked the bone. In plaster for 4 weeks.
Rainbowandscarlett · 09/03/2021 19:36

Sat on my hand and broke my finger

Watto1 · 09/03/2021 19:37

Fell over a ‘Caution! Wet floor’ sign at work and had to go to A and E for an X-ray. Nothing broken (except for my pride!) but very impressive bruising to my hand and wrist.

ColaPip · 09/03/2021 19:38

Getting my finger trapped in a clothes horse/airer thingy while trying to fold it. It locked into place and wouldn't budge. Excruciatingly painful. Had to shuffle into next room (while attached to clothes horse) to get mobile to call husband to come home. Luckily he was in the park with the kids and came home to rescue me (trying really hard not to laugh as I was in tears of frustration at this point). Finger was purple and mangled but eventually freed. Can laugh about it now but am still wary of bloody clothes horses 😂

Only yesterday I did something very silly. I thought better of posting about it but now @Bearthewear has started this thread, er,
I like to burn wax melts in those pots with the holes in the sides and was about to go out so being the safe sensible tw*at lady and not wanting to leave a burning tealight, bent down and blew hard to extinguish it. Wrong angle obviously!
Yes hot wax splattered out and all over my coffee table and little placemats. Worra mess!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 09/03/2021 19:52

We have an electric hob. I had just finished cooking potatoes, drained them then stuck my hand straight down onto the hob (to check if it was cold to put my plate down!) Obviously not i had literally turned it off 2 seconds earlier. The pain was insane, I didnt sleep that night as my hand felt like it was on fire. Painkillers, ice, nothing helped. I had done the running under water for 20 mins after the initial burn too!

I was also cooking chilli once, leant over the pot and it splashed straight into my eye. I had an ice pack strapped to my eye using a muslin cloth all evening 🤣

I tripped out of the door at work and sprained my ankle. It was massive for weeks and I had to do physio on it, and there's stil a weakness there which I can feel when I run or stumble.

I fell down the stairs on a bus when they stopped suddenly. Bruises all up my back and hip.

Not an accident but when pregnant I got stuck in one of the metal spinning things at the park after dd1 (3 at the time) insisted I get in with her. I had to ask a stranger to help me out 😂

I'm a walking disaster, im very accident prone and clumsy. Its just a miracle I've never broken a bone or seriously injured myself 🤣 (says while touching everything wood in sight!!)

GreenLeafTurnip · 09/03/2021 19:59

The one about the dog sneezing is hilarious! I used to work in bars and opened a fridge one shift, a beer bottle fell out, span so it was bottle top down and hit my toe. It was so painful I nearly passed out, the entire top part of my foot was black and blue for weeks and when I get cold feet I can't walk on it properly and this happened a good 8 years ago now!

Marylou62 · 09/03/2021 20:16

I've got the willies reading most of these! Ouch!

ALongHardWinter · 09/03/2021 20:17

Jumping down the 4 bottom steps of the stairs and on landing, biting my tongue nearly in half. I was only 4 at the time though! I was copying my two older brothers. Sad Ended up having 7 stitches in my tongue. I remember all this happening but strangely I don't recall being in any pain at all!

SweatyBetty20 · 09/03/2021 20:21

@LadyMonicaBaddingham wins the thread in my opinion. Jesus Christ! Were you in the car?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 09/03/2021 20:22

Trapped my foot in a 10ft fence I was climbing over. Then fell off the fence. So I was hanging upside from the fence by my foot. Dislocated my knee.
Still not right 9years later. Ideally I should have had an operation, but I got pregnant again.

SatsumasOrClementines · 09/03/2021 20:23

My car was hit by a train.

ItsSnowJokes · 09/03/2021 20:24
