I would say accidentally throwing my Nintendo Wii remote into the telly and breaking it.

@SweatyBetty20 Yes, I was. It took the entire bonnet end of the car off, but otherwise it was intact. I was VERY lucky!

MarshaBradyo · 09/03/2021 20:26

Mine didn’t happen but it makes me feel a bit ill

Dancing on stage when young in group ballet show. Parents had cut up snow to fall and somehow left big clunking sewing scissors in the nets. So as we all looked up they fell with a bang.

Luckily no one got hit but urgh

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 09/03/2021 20:29

@SatsumasorClementines Rural, ungated level crossing with terrible visibility. Had driven over it many times previously with no problems. One day there WAS a problem. The hedges have now been removed.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/03/2021 20:31

Hanging a saucepan lid up on one of those pan hanging things above kitchen islands. Clearly didn’t hook the lid up properly as it fell down and landed on my finger. Blood sprayed everywhere and my finger nail was black for weeks and cracked. Still traumatised by that and won’t hang up pan lids.

Someone decided to pass me a wooden tent peg from a couple of metres away. Hit me in the face and cut me. Missed my eye by about a centimetre and I still have a scar.

bigdinkydoodah · 09/03/2021 20:35

Going to loo in the middle of the night, skidded on a jar of Vicks and put my head through the bedroom wall and landed in the washing basket.

grassisjeweled · 09/03/2021 20:40

Trapped fingers in door window. Agony whilst DH unwound the window. Wasn't even fucking bruised aftwards 🤔

ChangedName4TheSakeOfIt · 09/03/2021 20:43

My mum was running and stood on a 4" nail sticking straight up. It went right through her foot and poked out the top and detached from whatever it was connected to so it was just there, going straight through her shoe and foot. As she was running so fast and hard she didn't notice for ages. She thought she'd just stood on a pebble a while back. It wasn't til she stopped her cross country run that she saw it. Tetanus shots and washing rust out at the hospital was the result. Envy (not envy)

NewMumma1819 · 09/03/2021 20:47

6 months pregnant, had a very thin dress on (summer 2019) and had too much water in a pan and was about to boil over. Got a ladle to scoop some out and pour down the sink and spilt a ladle full all over my bump. I worked in a GP surgery so got the nurses the next day to dress it for me. They all said I was trying to boil the baby for weeks 😂

When I was about 7 I was playing with my brother on our landing , I lent back to lean against the balustrades it was broke and i fell backwards down the stairs , bruised and split my eyebrow .

When I was around 19 I worked a a stables , we grew our own hay and straw , I could drive the tractor but misjudged the edge of a small stream that run through the field , and put the front wheel on the stream , I fell out the doorway ( no doors on the tractor ) . We had to use the second tractor to pull the one I was driving out of the stream .

About 2 weeks later , we were bringing the straw in and stacking in the barn , to do this you lay one layer down , stand on that and put the next layer on top . like building a brick wall while standing on it.
You tend not to realise how high you are getting while doing this as you are just looking at where the bale you are carrying needs to go .
I realised how high I was when while walking with a bale I walked straight into a roof beam and knocked myself clean out , in the process I fell about 40 foot down , fortunately onto a lot of loose straw missing the rear while of the same tractor by inches .
When I came round I threw up so was carted of to A&E .
I had a lump the size of a ducks egg on my head for about 4 days

Mopping up spilt juice from the carpet, broke my finger in two places and tore ligament from bone!

Tiktokersmiracle · 09/03/2021 20:56

Walking up a flight of stairs at college in student sandals- broke my big toe (right foot) as someone shunted into me
Same staircase, same time, 2 week later, same scenario, broke my big toe, on the left foot.

KikoMiko · 09/03/2021 21:03

Stood on a loo seat in a hotel bathroom which promptly cracked and I fell into the pan. My ankle got caught round the u-bend and I fell backwards onto the floor. Was stuck there for about five minutes trying to extricate my foot from the bog. Sported a very swollen, black ankle for around a week.

williowrosenburg · 09/03/2021 21:07

Used a pair of open scissors to cut open a box... the scissors some how closed as I used them and I cut the pad off of my index finger!
It bled alot but wasn't too phased so thought it would be ok. But eventually Had to go A&E as the bandage i Put on it got completely stuck to wound!
A&E Removed the stuck bandage, but it would not stop bleeding!!! It had to be cauterised.... I can tell you that fucking hurt so much I screamed FUCK at the poor dr!

RoomAtTheEndOfTheWorld · 09/03/2021 21:09

Sliced my knee open with a wallpaper scraper blade Confused

TroysMammy · 09/03/2021 21:11

Standing too close to the car door and yanking it open. I've now got a scar on my eyebrow. If I was an inch and a bit taller I would have had a very nasty eye injury.

Krazynights34 · 09/03/2021 21:14

If anyone on here knows me.. they will now!

Got impaled on a steel spike on a gate after I tried to climb it on our local town’s Roman wall after I tried to make it through the park just before it closed and got locked in.

My insides were showing!

Helenluvsrob · 09/03/2021 21:19

Fell in the canal on Sunday ( leaning to fish the dog out and just kept going )

Etherealhedgehog · 09/03/2021 21:20

The freakiest accident I never had - sleeping over at a friend's house as a teenager - I was sleeping on a mattress on her bedroom floor. There was a small shelf above her bedroom door with books and ring binders of school work on it. Middle of the night and that thing happens where you go from entirely asleep to wide awake and sat up in an instant. A few seconds later the little shelf and all the books etc came crashing down about two inches from where my head had been. Would have been a rude at the very least. The only thing I can think is that it made a small noise shortly before falling (not enough to wake my friend) and my sub-conscious must have registered enough about the layout of the room and possible risks to clock the significance. The brain is a weird and wonderful thing

usernotfound0000 · 09/03/2021 21:21

Fainted whilst sat on the loo, fell forwards and caught my head on the corner of the bathroom cupboard.

LeaveItToWeaver · 09/03/2021 21:21

Washing up, dropped the extra-sharp chopping blade attachment from the blender and without thinking went to catch it with my other hand. Nearly took my finger off.

Then-toddler DD leapt onto our bed very early one morning, somehow managed to head-butt me and broke my nose.

happymummy12345 · 09/03/2021 21:27

once I caught my acrylic nail and both my acrylic and my whole natural nail came completely off. I went to pick my phone up off my bed, caught the nail and that happened. I couldn't believe it. I had to wait for the nail to grow back. It was 2 weeks n before prom as well so I had use my bag to hide my finger with the missing nail. It happened the beginning of may and was fully grown back by the middle of august. So about 3 to 3 and a half months to completely regrow. (It was nearly 12 years ago but I still remember it like it was yesterday). Hasn't put me off though. I always have long acrylic nails, about an inch

Imonlydoingwhatican · 09/03/2021 21:37

Stood up from the chair, snapped my ankle, then passed out from the pain

scaredsadandstuck · 09/03/2021 21:43

I didn't mind the gap when getting on the train....and took a chunk out of my shin that had to be stitched up

Shosha1 · 09/03/2021 22:03

As a child we had been to the IOW. My Dad was leaving to work abroad the next day. Once he had gone, my Mum gave us the coloured sand sets Dad had bought us. You had to fill a test tube with the different colours and then put a cork in the top before turning it over to stand on the Cork.
I had filled it and put the fork in but it wasn't 'square' so I stood up and put the flat if my hand on the cork, leaning all my weight in it. The tube shattered, leaving tall shards. One went straight through my hand coming out the other side.

Mum couldn't drive ( this was the 60's) and had four other children at home. I was taken into hospital by ambulance on my own until my Grandad could get to me 2 hours later.

Reinventinganna · 09/03/2021 22:08

Knocked myself out as the bus stopped suddenly. Embarrassingly it was a bus to the hospital so lots of doctors, nurses etc there to ‘help’ me. Apparently there was a massive thud and then I slid to the floor.
