I wonder if the Royal Family stepped in for this to happen

I'm still quite astonished at him going on about Charlotte the other woman presenter's legs in a skirt/dress, I'm not a regular viewer, and she seemingly tolerating it as a normal thing. Is it?

He's like a bloated Alan Partridge without the humour.

@HmmmmmmInteresting

He's got character? You mean the man who was too embarrassed to get help for his pregnant wife when she told him she was suicidal. Oprah went very easy on that one didn't she.

We've seen how mental health is stigmatised- look at all the people backing Piers saying they agree with him. Interesting it's Harry you're blaming in all this, not the institution that refused Meghan help when she asked for it

But if you were pregnant and had MH issues who would you go to? Surely you would go to your husband/partner not an ‘institution’ aka the in-laws? Surely Harry is the one at fault here?

Haven't RTFT but I find it interesting Alex was bought on yesterday and wasn't weather related, he was part of the panel. I think he asked to be on to confront Piers as no one else had the balls.

I don't like MM but PM obsession and absolute hatred was vile and uncomfortable to watch.

I think Alex should take over. Passionate and eloquent. More guests may now participate now PM has gone.

Charlotte and her skirt are getting more righteous indignation than the three years of bullying Piers subjected Meghan to.
KarensChoppyBob · 10/03/2021 14:18

Not in my mind.

Not in my mind.
Of course not
twelly · 10/03/2021 14:43

If the latest update is true and that PM was forced bout of his job due to a direct complaint by M/H I felt that is unacceptable

Quaagars · 10/03/2021 14:50

I really liked Ranvir who took over today, I hope she's on more.

Really? Why?

You don't think mm can complain that piers doubted her suicide attempt?

Quaagars · 10/03/2021 15:21

Oh, as if lol.
I see this is the angle the DM are taking too, it's just a shit stirrer.
Everything's always her fault, isn't it?
I think the fact that ITV have a big mental health campaign going on and a whole #bekind thing - to have one of your main presenters dismissing suicide and relentless harassing someone might have something to do with it.
Plus the mental health charity MIND called it out too.
There's no way he could have stayed after all this as it would have just made a mockery of the whole campaign.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 10/03/2021 15:46

I don't think enough credit is given to Susanna Reid. Played her role as a subservient woman extremely well. The five minute speech she gave on Piers' death departure was really touching and the most she's spoken in the five years she's worked with him.

Nith · 10/03/2021 15:54

I think it's hilarious PM quoting that Churchill saying about free speech including accepting that people will disagree with you. Coming from the person who did a massive flounce when Alex Beresford disagreed publicly with him, it's richly ironic.

shadypines · 10/03/2021 16:06

Reid should have stuck to the dignity and gravitas she managed to exude on the BBC, unfortunately the production team allowed PM to make her look like subservient to him every morning. If someone had stepped in and had a word about how he treated his fellow presenters it might not have snowballed into him being a complete shouty bellend.

shadypines · 10/03/2021 16:09

I think Alex should take over yes, exactly what I was thinking.

I guess the paycheck ITV offered was worth her dignity. She literally got paid to smirk and giggle like a school girl keeping in with the bully. Wonder if she'll ask for a payrise now she actually has to do some work.
MercyBooth · 10/03/2021 16:14

@Sparklingbrook In an interview with Woman and Home last year Ranvir was praising Piers.

IrmaFayLear · 10/03/2021 16:16

I like Alex but, gosh, it’s an ill wind.... I bet he’s got Meghan on his Christmas card list now.

Samcro · 10/03/2021 16:17

i don't watch GMB but saw him on the news earlier. he is awful and no better then a stalker.
sadly he will no doubt have a job still.

shadypines · 10/03/2021 16:22

Intereresting I know, she could do with some lessons off Kirsty Wark or Emily Maitliss.

AirBubbleMe · 10/03/2021 16:36

Exactly

I think what some posters are pointing out is that PM's narrative fits with their own ie. they're all good with racism, sexism and bullying. In for they're so good with it that they project it onto others which is what we see here with a few claiming the Queen's statement the PM narrative.

itsgettingwierd · 10/03/2021 16:46

@turquoisewaters

Piers is just a pompous, entitled man who has made a lot of money from supposedly ‘telling it like it is

Can he repent for specific mistakes and be allowed to explain or must he be forever struck off?

Again, I'm not disputing that some of his behaviour has been OTT

The issue is though is that he makes the same mistakes over and over.

This isn't the first time he's had to leave a job for the same reasons - overstepping the line dressed up as telling it as it is.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 10/03/2021 16:55

He keeps failing upwards

Jbon9087 · 10/03/2021 16:55

@GreenSlide

Not Ian Wright Grin Matthew Wright, of course.
Ian Wright ... not a bad idea :)

Pleeeeease.... so 41,000 people complained but its because M directly complained?

Will people get off this and her because it's starting to make us like a very sick nation.
