Apparently the royal wedding wasn’t for them. It was for everyone else. Do you think that’s why they married privately beforehand?

How could they have done it beforehand. The Guardian link describes it as just “Harry, Meghan & the priest” and says nobody knows that apart from them. You can’t legally marry without witnesses. You can’t legally marry twice. What does she mean?

I'm American and I would have known what a royal spouse was expected to do. How can she claim it was all such a big shock?

My cousin had two weddings - the first was the legal ceremony and the second was the big garden wedding that she wanted. Don't see how the church one wasn't legal though?

But why? I thought one of the things they got flak for was personalising the real wedding ceremony the way they wanted it?

That was some of the first friction with the courtiers, I thought; Perfume in the chapel, Tiara hate, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets”, the unnecessary carriage ride...

Church doesn't marry divorced people, that's why - it was a service of Blessing, you have to marry legally at a register office beforehand, usually same day, with two witnesses. I did that.

Why is it that all those third hand stories about Meghan making anonymous unnamed people cry are automatically believed and used to denigrate and abuse Meghan, but a first hand story of Kate making someone cry is dismissed as "character assassination"?

We don’t know which one of them “is the bully”. Maybe neither of them are.
