Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just having my cuppa in peace (ish - there's a box of crickets, that the girls' dad thought the mantis could have, chirping away to itself. The mantis can't have them & I'm not entirely sure what to do with them Confused ).

I'm off up to get dressed and wake the girls at 9. We're going to walk to Home Bargains for some of the bits for dd2's packed lunches. It won't take me long to nip in for what we need so they'll wait outside for me.

Depending on the time, I might order us each a McDonald's burger to collect for the walk home.

When we get in, I'll work out what to do with the crickets & iron dd1's school shirts. & we'll get together dd2's art work from the past couple of months to go on the "art gallery" wall her class TA has been working on putting together.

Other than that, I don't think either of them wanted to do anything much so I should be able to get on with some of my crochet project.

What about all of you? :)

Opticians & huge food shop. 🙂

PersonaNonGarter · 06/03/2021 08:39

Going to go to the Farm Store place to buy a bag of dog food and then DH will drop me and I am going to walk back home. I love that walk.

Looking forward to sitting with a cuppa and browsing cattle breeds - we are considering starting a herd, it is very very exciting.

I need to decide if I am going to make the mince into chilli con carne or spag bol.

Day 1 of Adriene’s 30 days of yoga too.

PermanentTemporary · 06/03/2021 08:40

Sounds lovely!
Im going to clear out my shed. It's a big job and emotional because it was my late husband's office, and I've put it off. But he died over 3 years ago now and all of a sudden it's time. I'll choose nice music or a gentle podcast to listen to and reward myself with something nice to eat this evening.

I've boiled and baked the bagels I proved overnight and now going to go on a 7 or 8 mile run - trying to feel enthusiastic about it as it's cold outside!

DancingDunes · 06/03/2021 08:41

I'm also having tea in peace the kids are awake but playing happily! We will have a morning doing jobs round the house then head out to walk the dogs and ride the horses. I'll also sort school uniform and bag for DD1, DD2 is too young got school yet.

RickOShay · 06/03/2021 08:42

Good morning
Just about to make another cuppa and go back to bed with my book!
Hopefully a chinese for tea.
Might try and get into the garden later, but that’s about it.

felineflutter · 06/03/2021 08:43

Dentist then go on a bike ride with DD. Cook a Gusto lunch. Walk the dog, put up so birdhouses, play football with DD, plan a raised bed DH has just made for me, do an hour on Potato, settle down and watch a Netflix boxset with a glass of wine.

BumpLoading · 06/03/2021 08:45

We're off to buy some fish for our little fish tank today, will be DS (18months) first pet so looking forward to getting them Smile

Ostryga · 06/03/2021 08:47

DD’s dad is picking her up at 11, I’m sorting the house out, laundry, food shop and then my support bubble is coming over tonight for gallons of wine and dinner.

Springersrock · 06/03/2021 08:48

Laying on the sofa with coffee and Say Yes To The Dress enjoying some peace and quiet.

Will take the dog for a big walk in a bit

Up to our yard later this afternoon to sort our horses and DD has a riding lesson.

I had a day off work yesterday and went food shopping and did loads of housework so for the first time in a long time I’ve got a weekend to just do bugger all

Rosie2000 · 06/03/2021 08:48

I’ve been up and sorted washing etc, back in bed but need to get up to start a mammoth job application. Might fit in a walk too

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 06/03/2021 08:48

Feed the baby, dress the 3 yr old- then I need a big coffee.
Try to keep on my diet whilst simultaneously making biscuits and possibly get a McDonald’s for my eldest. Also try and fit in a Instagram 40min work out, may get pushed to after bed time.

EarringsandLipstick · 06/03/2021 08:49

😂

there's a box of crickets, that the girls' dad thought the mantis could have

That's probably not a sentence going to appear in too many people's morning plans!

Do let us know what you do with them. (Poor crickets 😢)

I've just finished an online HIIT class; now washing up, shoving on clothes washes & trying to feed children. I'll do the grocery shop (highlight of my week!) in about an hour.

I'd love to think of some time with a cuppa & papers but I'm behind in work & house chores so it's unlikely.

MirandaWest · 06/03/2021 08:49

Working from 9-5. As I’ll be sitting on my chair in the converted garage office in the garden all day I am currently coming back from a 40 minute walk.

Murtaghjames · 06/03/2021 08:54

I've just had tea and toast in bed. Getting up in a minute and heading to the supermarket for a big shop. DH is working this morning but should be finished by lunchtime so we are going for a walk with DC along the seafront when he gets home. Might get a bag of chips after our walk.

AlwaysMoreCoffee · 06/03/2021 08:55

@PermanentTemporary Flowers

I am slightly hungover and tired because DH and I stayed up late drinking wine and watching the last two episodes of The Boys, which we’ve been saving for ages. Totally worth the hangover, it was brilliant.

I got up early to sort out a slight poo accident from DS (who is 5 Hmm) even though it’s my turn for a lie in. So now I’m enjoying a nice big coffee which I persuaded DH he owed me as recompense. I might text him for a refill in a bit Grin

Hoping to make it to the allotment at some point. Also need to wash the children’s coats and clean their shoes. YAY for school on Monday Grin

Dinner tonight is greek salad. Everyone likes it so hopefully not too many dinner time shenanigans from the DC.

lucysmam · 06/03/2021 08:56

Earrings, I know! I have a friend with a gecko but she feeds him locusts & another friend with a bearded dragon but she hasn't replied to a message asking if she wants them 🤷‍♀️ I'd release them but the box says not to, so I won't.

Just discovered my husband bought some frozen pain au raisin as a surprise Saturday morning treat as I have been unwell this week.
So, oven on, in bed with second cup of tea and reading Mumsnet while waiting ... Smile

Cam2020 · 06/03/2021 09:01

It's freezing here, so planning on staying wrapped up indoors!

Mini pamper day with DD - breaking out the foot Spa for a home pedi and well do our nails.

@PermanentTemporary Flowers and hugs.

troppibambini6 · 06/03/2021 09:02

Morning!
Lucysmam I love these threads you do. I like hearing what everyone is up to.
I've got a handyman coming this morning to do a few jobs ready for me to try doing a panelled wall in my bedroom next week.
Three youngest are going to the park to play football with dh.
Eldest is in bed.
I need to have a bit of a clean up, muck out a couple of kids rooms, find all the school stuff, clean shoes and wash coats..

goldface · 06/03/2021 09:07

@felineflutter what’s Potato??

ElizaLaLa · 06/03/2021 09:09

I'm going to do my 13,500 steps on the cross trainer. I'll put youtube on and watch old wife swap episodes, or kitchen nightmares, maybe while I do it.

Other than that, there isn't anything that weNEED to do today so we'll just potter about I suppose.

lazylump72 · 06/03/2021 09:09

I am sat here with a coffee in peace! No one else is moving yet,,its lovely. My washing machine is whirring away and I am trying to work out a way of not beating myself up after I did a terrible thing during the week.I was very angry and hot headed and I was incredibly mean and I behaved shamefully having got to the end of my tether,I am not sorry I said what I did,I was right just sorry about the way I went about it.Time for another coffee I guess!

WhatHaveIFound · 06/03/2021 09:11

First task today will be tackling DS's hair with the clippers ready for the return to school.

After that cleaning, bread making and providing emotional support to DD who's overseas and having a wobble Sad

HeatherShimmerIsMyShade · 06/03/2021 09:11

Working... Luckily, from home, so I had time to sort out the washing before I start. Lucky me! 🙄
