Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just having my cuppa in peace (ish - there's a box of crickets, that the girls' dad thought the mantis could have, chirping away to itself. The mantis can't have them & I'm not entirely sure what to do with them ).

I'm off up to get dressed and wake the girls at 9. We're going to walk to Home Bargains for some of the bits for dd2's packed lunches. It won't take me long to nip in for what we need so they'll wait outside for me.

Depending on the time, I might order us each a McDonald's burger to collect for the walk home.

When we get in, I'll work out what to do with the crickets & iron dd1's school shirts. & we'll get together dd2's art work from the past couple of months to go on the "art gallery" wall her class TA has been working on putting together.

Other than that, I don't think either of them wanted to do anything much so I should be able to get on with some of my crochet project.

Sounds lovely! Im going to clear out my shed. It's a big job and emotional because it was my late husband's office, and I've put it off. But he died over 3 years ago now and all of a sudden it's time. I'll choose nice music or a gentle podcast to listen to and reward myself with something nice to eat this evening.

It’s strange how the motivation to do things like this come all of a sudden isn’t it? Take it slowly & try to enjoy the memories x

I'm starting 'drink a glass of water first' thing today, so I'm having a glass of water before a coffee.

My watching-film-hating 10 yo (read that back over and remember the year we've been having...) wants to work through the Marvel films, in her order so we're watching the first Avengers later, having watched the last one yesterday. I'm cautiously optimistic that film night Friday is back on.

DD1 wants to work through WandaVision so maybe the first of that (I just finished it last night but happy to watch again).

Morrisons shopping arriving later, so added popcorn to that.

I'm trying to do some creative writing every day, a minimum of 500 words, but am aiming for 2k. I should b doing some of that now instead of MNetting

I'm in bed with littlest DD (8 weeks) who's having a feed and trumping away. DD4 is with me watching cartoons on DH's phone. DS6 is watching YouTube and DD9 is still in bed.

Today will mainly be focused on laundry and housework. I need to sort out the baby's clothes thanks to her latest growth spurt, and also hunt down all the school uniforms/bags etc. DH is planning to make a curry later so we'll go out for a big walk beforehand.

DS and I have just bought metal detectors and are going treasure hunting in the garden, then we're going to search for a ring someone we know lost on a dog walk.

Still in bed. DD is with her dad until tomorrow afternoon, DH is downstairs making me a drink. I really really need to tackle sorting out my wardrobe today, but I know it's going to be a nightmare and once I've started it I'm going to have to continue until it's all done. Really can't be bothered! Steak for tea and cuddles with the cats

In bed with a coffee. Absolutely no plans at all. Another lockdown weekend.

Last Saturday morning there was a thread like this, and I commented I was about to weigh myself for the first time in ages and kick start a healthy new diet Well I did, and just weighed myself for the first time since last week and have shifted the first 6lbs so I am feeling quite motivated now.

Plans for today less exciting, try and get ds16 out of bed, wash all the bedding and mop floors. Will make a Chilli later so I can use up all the leftover veg in the fridge. I'll call Dd20 who is back at Uni and possibly sort a few random bits out as Dp wants to go to the tip later.

I am being forced to play a pretend game with Happyland, Playmobil and random plastic dinosaurs, and DC2 has just rediscovered an irritating talking toy of Forky from Toy Story. I have no idea what we are going to do today except tidy up the Happyland and Playmobil that is covering the floor, go to the park, wash up multiple times because the dishwasher is broken. I am trying to interest DC1 in a Brownie interest badge, as she has only done 1 and will leave Brownies probably in the summer.

Dd2 is doing her ballet and tap on zoom . Then going to do some cleaning as my parents coming tomorrow (support bubble ) . Eldest has her dance after lunch on zoom . Will try and get a walk in too .

I’m currently sat with a coffee. Ds1 is playing rocket league, ds2 is playing trains, dd2 is sat under a blanket playing games on a tablet and dd1 is still in bed. Just hung washing out and it’s really cold outside. I have tried and failed to print a form for school so my friend is doing it for me and will post it through the door later. Food shopping is being delivered later. I used to always have the same slot on a Tuesday but doesn’t ever seem available now so I have to take what I can! Have also done a food order for Easter week. Pizza for dinner tonight so I can be really lazy!

A long walk and will cook something nice for dinner later.

Just been to the shops to pick up some emergency uniform (DC1 no longer fitted into his school trousers!!) and a few other bits.

We are planning a lazy weekend as its going to be a shock to the system on Monday. We'll have a long walk later to blow the cobwebs away and a take away pizza for dinner!

I’m still in my pyjamas but have been up since 8.00
We had a cooked breakfast this morning and I’ve been catching up on washing and pottering about the house
Dd is doing online dance classes and Dh has gone to his studio to do some work
Myself and Dd are going to go and get a Costa from the drive through and then pop to my mums to drop some groceries off this afternoon
We are going to have a Chinese takeaway tonight and will watch some tv and I might do some family history research

Was going to be a relaxing day, until next door put their music on.

I'm relaxing after cleaning and cooking a big cooked breakfast for the family.

I have a pot of paint to touch up all the woodwork that's been bugging me and then I will load the dogs up and go for a long walk later this afternoon, and have a think about what to cook for tea at some point, maybe salmon.. maybe steak.

Then no doubt lounge in front of the TV trying to replace married at first sight gap 🥲

Been out for food shopping, fed everyone lunch, DD is meeting a friend for a walk, DH and DS are going to the park and I'm going to put a gloss thing on my hair and iron - very rock and roll!

Had my first week back at work in almost 2 years. So am chilling out mostly. Not loads to do as we weren't in the house all week turning it upside down.

Just had a jacket potato lunch. Will clean out the chickens and put laundry away in due course. For now it's about reading my Country Living magazine while my DDs play Shopkins in their playroom.

It's...really not very easy. Thank you for the flowers. Have stopped briefly to feed ds and myself but need to go straight back to it or I'll stop. Just feeling very sad, which is of course why I haven't done it for 3 years. But I think the end result will be nice as it will be a usable space (emotions haven't stopped me putting random crap in it at times.
I've cleaned the bathroom and changed my sheets so should have a very pampering evening at least.

Writing my meal plan for the week. DD 1 is trying veggie for a bit so I’m trying to tweak our meals, plus it’s back to school packed lunches to think of.
Lots of washing ongoing and some housework to do. I feel a bit rough so trying to go slowly through the day.
Need to make DH his chocolate cream egg brownie cake for his birthday tomorrow will do that later with DD’s

We’ve already done good shop for elderly MIL and our neighbour.

Tried out out new steam cleaner on the shower.

DH is just filling up the car with stuff for the tip and we’re going to see what the queue is like. Stop off at M&S to buy birthday lunch for MIL for tomorrow.

Angling for a takeaway later and a film after FaceTiming DD. I still can’t get used to FaceTiming but not seeing her, she only lives a mile away!!!

I dropped youngest ds at work for 8am.

Came back and stuck some washing in, walked the dogs, went to sort the horses out and came back freezing, had some breakfast and a cuppa.
I've cleaned the house top to bottom. Stripped all the beds.

Dp is doing some DIY and hasn't stopped bloody moaning about it.
Just chilling for a bit, will do some crochet shortly.
Gotta walk the dogs again, pick ds up from work and cook tea, think we are going to have steak, chips, salad, black pepper sauce and garlic bread.
Oldest dd is coming later, I'll drag her up the stables with me to get the Horses in.
I plan on drinking lots of Gin tonight.

All sounds lovely. I'm looking after DS4 while DH takes DS7 out for a covid test because he suddenly came down ill today with high temp, out of nowhere, 2 DAYS BEFORE THEY WERE FINALLY GOING BACK TO SCHOOL 😭😭😭
