I had planned on this colour scheme for my sitting room - until my friend remarked on the similarity of the colour of the suite to baby poo

And now I'm having second thoughts! I see gold, she sees breastfed baby poo. Please can I have your opinions?!

I'm sticking with the navy and white wall colours, it's just the sofa I'm dithering about. If you agree with my friend, what alternative colour sofa do you think would look good?

I'm with he a bit sorry!

BigPaperBag · 04/03/2021 21:12

It’s nice. Why does her opinion matter?

MyFloorIsLava · 04/03/2021 21:13

I wouldn't have thought it initially but once seen it can't really be unseen.

Wow, I love it, its really classy
Don't listen to your friend

Howdoin · 04/03/2021 21:14

I think your friend is rude!
It’s kind of a harvest gold colour. I like it, and you obviously did as you bought it..

dudsville · 04/03/2021 21:14

She's got her associations. I think your colour scheme is fine (but I'd opt for a darker brown).

Wallabyone · 04/03/2021 21:14

I love it Smile

DramaAlpaca · 04/03/2021 21:14

Well it is quite a mustardy shade of gold Grin

Joking aside, I think that colour scheme is fantastic and that you should go for it.

RonSwan · 04/03/2021 21:14

Jade green sofa instead?

Apandemicyousay · 04/03/2021 21:14

Go a shade lighter, mustard yellow

shoutyshouter · 04/03/2021 21:14

I've painted our dining room in overtly olive and my friend compared it to baby poo too!

LaceyBetty · 04/03/2021 21:15

It's lovely. Pay no attention.

YukoandHiro · 04/03/2021 21:16

It both is the colour of baby poo, but it's also a really nice colour for a suite. I don't get it, mustard is a lovely colour which also happens to be healthy baby poo too

WineInTheWillows · 04/03/2021 21:16

Nah, my baby's poos have always been a much brighter colour than that.

I love it.

mamange · 04/03/2021 21:18

I love love love it!!!!! You could find something negative to compare any colour to if you think about it. This sofa won’t scream baby poo to most of the population

Cocogreen · 04/03/2021 21:22

I love it. Ignore your friend. Does she have an all grey house? 😉

JetBlackSteed · 04/03/2021 21:24

It's lovely, keep it.

Wondermule · 04/03/2021 21:24

Go for a deep rust instead. Or if you’re avoiding the poo spectrum altogether, deep turquoise.

ReverendRicketyCricket · 04/03/2021 21:29

I love the paint! What colour/make is it OP? Love love that colour.

MissVanji · 04/03/2021 21:30

When I ordered our new sofa we were given a store sofa until our one was made and it was exactly like the one in your picture, so many people made comments on how awful it was Confused luckily it was nothing like the one I was having made. If you like it I'd say go for it especially if you don't care what others think.

MySocalledLoaf · 04/03/2021 21:31

It can be both the colour of baby poo and a nice colour. People eat mustard, still.

BigSkyLife · 04/03/2021 21:34

Love it!

SkiingIsHeaven · 04/03/2021 21:34

I love it. We have just used these colours in our bedroom and we really happy.

Do whatever you like. It is you that will be sitting on it.
