Oh my gosh, if I meet a man with a big nose, even if he's not my usual type, likelihood is I'm in trouble! What is it about them?

Do you have a big nose yourself? I do, and small noses are a turn off for me - they look like pencils and leave too much blank space on the face, like David Cameron.

Big noses look great on men and women. I really dislike the Hollywood fashion for baby button noses on women - most of the actresses get nose jobs and all end up with the same, indistinct, weirdly-small noses.

A good conk can be so chic and dignified.

I agree about small noses looking quite silly and irrelevant on certain types of face, male or female. I’ve always thought Brad Pitt and Leonardo di Caprio have too-small noses. Angelica Huston or Lady Gaga would look far less striking if they had little noses. So would Julia Roberts.

So right about women with larger noses too. Hadn't really thought about it before but it's true. They really mark a person out.

You’re so right! Irish people tend to have small noses, thinner lips and sort of pointed chins I’ve noticed. English people have bigger noses, fuller lips and higher cheekbones. Just compare Jonathon sexton with Chris robshaw 😂😂

The serious answer is that bigger noses are linked to higher testosterone levels - especially indicating high levels of exposure in the womb. One possible link being high testosterone = bigger muscles = greater need for oxygen to feed those muscles = bigger nose to allow better airflow.

(Obviously genetics also play a big role in nose size).

Hence, men with big noses tend to score higher in things like perceived virility or assumed success

Hence you think big nose = better sexy times!
