Will a McDonald's be edible after a 30min car ride?

We all fancy a McDonald's but the nearest is 30 mins away. We can use justeat but will it be a disgusting let down?

It will be cold. We tend to eat ours in the car park and watch the world go by. Best hot.

MrsWooster · 27/02/2021 15:33

No, it’ll be hideous. Ours is 5 minutes away and I drove like the wind and the chips were limp, the burgers cool... tho the apple pie was actually edible, rather than volcanic, the pastry was less crispy. Wait a week or two and go in person.

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 27/02/2021 15:34

It will be edible but not great. You can possibly aim for an OK if you aren't terribly fussy.

I've ate it before but it didn't really hit the spot.

bloodywhitecat · 27/02/2021 15:34

It's always cold but will be even worse after a 30 min car ride.

PolarnOPirate · 27/02/2021 15:35

Why not drive and eat it in the car park?

BakewellGin1 · 27/02/2021 15:35

Hmmm the max I've drove was 15 minutes with one... It wasn't that enjoyable

PotteringAlong · 27/02/2021 15:36

Why wouldn’t you just eat it in the car there?

Mylittlesandwich · 27/02/2021 15:37

I have an insulated food bag that keeps things fine for the 20 mins drive. Without it it's a disaster.

Onetraumaatatimeplease · 27/02/2021 15:39

Honestly, it's cold when they pass it to you, as it's been sat by a window for a few minutes before you get to it. I don't really know how they get away with it from an environmental health perspective.

Tulipsy272 · 27/02/2021 15:39

I thought lockdown rules were that we couldn't drive 30 mins to another town to eat a takeaway in the car? That's why I thought we could use JustEat.

I'd be surprised if they deliver 30 minutes away. I am not within range for a just eat mcdonalds delivery and I am 10 minutes away.

LApprentiSorcier · 27/02/2021 15:42

Yes, they last at least 20 years before going off:

Notabove25 · 27/02/2021 15:44

My DS works in McDonalds. Brings it home on his 20 minute walk and puts it in the microwave. It's surprisingly OK, even the chips Grin

Nancylovesthecock · 27/02/2021 15:44

And no one will stop or question you op. I've not been stopped or seen a barracade for the whole of the last year. I live in the Midlands and regularly travel within an hours radius of my house for various reasons. Both work and leisure.

RickiTarr · 27/02/2021 15:47

@PotteringAlong

Why wouldn’t you just eat it in the car there?
You’ll have the salad plate woman from the TV dinners thread after you. Watch what you say! Grin
peak2021 · 27/02/2021 17:25

No, it won't be.

Other food which is nutritious is available.

PotteringAlong · 27/02/2021 17:40

@RickiTarr Grin

MixedUpFiles · 27/02/2021 17:41

We just have a car picnic

thethoughtfox · 27/02/2021 17:45

The muffins heat up well microwaved in their wrapper. I discovered that if you have cheese slices at home, pop one in before heating it and it makes it extra moist and yummy.

StormyInTheNorth · 27/02/2021 17:48

It's the chips that don't travel. Burgers and nuggets are fine after a blast in the micro.
As for other nutritious food. Hahahaha. It's McDonalds not asbestos.

ShutUpAlex · 27/02/2021 17:48

My fiancé is convinced that McDonald’s is way better when microwaved!

Youngatheart00 · 27/02/2021 17:49

Drive there and eat it in the car park!

Ismellphantoms · 27/02/2021 17:50

Stick your meal in an air fryer for a few minutes and it's just as good as when you eat it fresh.

Rockbird · 27/02/2021 17:51

I wonder if the chips are any good in the air fryer? Otherwise I'm not really bothered, I love McDonald's however it comes.

skipperjonce · 27/02/2021 17:54

It's macdonalds. It won't be edible 20 seconds after purchase.
