Will a McDonald's be edible after a 30min car ride?

We all fancy a McDonald's but the nearest is 30 mins away. We can use justeat but will it be a disgusting let down?

@MrsDThomas

Its not edible in the “restaurant “ let alone driving home with it🤢
I'll ask you as well, in what way is it inedible? Is it that you don't know what the word means, have you got it mixed up with the phrase I don't like McDonalds? The virtue signalling on this thread is weird, if you're trying to make out that you're somehow a better person that the OP it's backfiring and making you look silly.
Donelurking · 27/02/2021 18:48

Not sure what the difference will be. I’d class it as inedible.

Sparklingbrook · 27/02/2021 18:51

You can't mention McDonalds on MN without getting replies like that @Ch3rish. I think a klaxon goes off. Grin

Karwomannghia · 27/02/2021 18:52

I once ate a fillet of fish cold with a hangover the morning after it was bought. It was amazing.

minipie · 27/02/2021 18:53

Just warm it up at home. It’s been kept warm for ages in the restaurant anyway.

Chloemol · 27/02/2021 18:55

It will be fine, just a bit cold. Could you wrap it in foil? We live about 20/25mins away and it’s ok

ElderMillennial · 27/02/2021 18:55

I was thinking fried in air fryer

I like a KFC occasionally but it's about 20+ mins away abs so sometimes I need to put the chips in the air fryer when I get home. I also try to keep the good weather by closing the bag, putting coat or something on top. Not sure whether it helps.

Abraxan · 27/02/2021 18:55

Cosmos - wouldn't say much loved Hmm. I mean it's something I have about 3 or 4 times a year.

The fish takes like the type of fish you have in a fishfinger but bigger.
The tartare sauce tastes like your average tartare sauce from a jar
The steamed bun tasted like bread roll.
The child tastes like fries from anywhere else, as did the ketchup.

🤷‍♀️

I think my recent craving came from it normally being something we have when in a longer journey down south - to see a friend or to the airport, when leaving later in the evening. So the craving was probably tied up with missing going away too.

But hey, it tasted good after so long.

I know, weird, none of them have come back to expand on in what way the food is inedible. As I said I never go there but they sell apples, carrots, coffee, cookies, what makes them inedible? My children eat food from there, they've never once said they couldn't eat it. Are these posters going to the wrong place Confused
OrangeBananaFish · 27/02/2021 18:57

We live 25-30 mins away from Maccy Ds and are always buying them, bringing them home and microwaving them. The chips aren't as nice as eating in the restaurant, but everything else has been fine. We've been doing it for years. No food poisoning here or any other ill effects.

Id much rather do that than eat in the car TBH.

HaggisTheGreat · 27/02/2021 19:37

Xerochrysum · 27/02/2021 19:41

I like cold burgers. I like flat coke too.

Ha ha! Yes, not child! Didn't even have a child with me 😂

Very much meant chips !

Floralnomad · 27/02/2021 20:07

All the McDonald’s near us cook to order nowadays , is that not the norm nationally , they did away with the rows of burgers waiting to be sold ages ago .

Youngatheart00 · 27/02/2021 20:08

@Abraxan McChild, surely 🤣🤣

OTTYrevolution · 27/02/2021 20:11

The chips might be a bit useless but burgers and nuggets will be fine. Hope you got your takeout :)

ShowOfHands · 27/02/2021 20:15

I don't eat McDonalds (veggie) but do love a sanctimonious MN response to questions about their food. Yes yes, very good, you're better than everybody else. Have a biscuit. A spelt and pumpkin biscuit made with no sugar and the tears of a McDonalds employee.

Cosmos45 · 01/03/2021 15:32

@Abraxan - thank you clarifying - I had the oddest sensation whilst eating a big mac as it literally did not taste of anything - I used to loved them in my 20's and had one nearly everyday. Then I stopped eating them and had one out of the blue about 11 years ago and literally it tasted of nothing. I wondered if something had changed and have never eaten one since. I do love a KFC though

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 01/03/2021 15:37

I'm waiting for lockdown to end so that I can drive 150 miles to Rickmansworth to buy a Wimpy (or 30!). Best Wimpy shop ever!

LST · 01/03/2021 16:19

@skipperjonce

It's macdonalds. It won't be edible 20 seconds after purchase.
Oh jog on
Quit4me · 01/03/2021 16:20

Yes it’s fine. Just pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds. Job done

Quit4me · 01/03/2021 16:22

I absolutely can’t stand the thought of eating in the car in a car park. Awful and depressing

Reinventinganna · 01/03/2021 16:27

I don’t eat Mac Donald’s but I would imagine it would go cold?
We don’t have food delivery services here, do they have heated storage?

claireb7rg · 01/03/2021 17:02

I'd be surprised if just eat would deliver it. I live less than 15 mins from our nearest mcd and they won't deliver it to us.

LynetteScavo · 01/03/2021 17:08

I live 5 mins drive from McDonalds and the chips are never quite right once I've got home. The apple pies last well. The fruit bags last for several weeks - when the DC were little they dropped one on the car and I found it several weeks later on perfect condition. Heaven only knows what preservatives were in it.
