We all fancy a McDonald's but the nearest is 30 mins away. We can use justeat but will it be a disgusting let down?

I won't eat delivered McDonalds because I like it actually hot. Whereas my DC will eat anything in McDonalds packaging!

KarensChoppyBob · 27/02/2021 18:01

I bloody hope so or I've unintentionally poisoned myself many times :).

Muchtoomuchtodo · 27/02/2021 18:01

No. It’ll be horribly disappointing.

Get a dominos or Chinese instead

Sparkletastic · 27/02/2021 18:03

Drive through
Park up
Eat in car

User5768 · 27/02/2021 18:05

Just microwave it

Waxonwaxoff0 · 27/02/2021 18:10

I've hungover eaten chicken nuggets the morning after a post night out feast.

Bonitalazenia · 27/02/2021 18:10

I work nights and always buy us burger to microwave for 30 seconds in the middle of the night, reheats beautifully!

namechangefail2020 · 27/02/2021 18:12

Fuck the rules, McDonald's cravings have to be given in to.

Ellieboolou33 · 27/02/2021 18:12

Cold McDonald's is disgusting, and I can eat anything!

AlwaysLatte · 27/02/2021 18:12

I got some as a treat for my children yesterday, it's about 10 mins away and I took an insulated picnic bag. It was fine, apparently. I don't think I'd risk 30 minutes though.

soresore · 27/02/2021 18:14

I have eaten McDonalds way over 30 minutes. Always fine. Cold, but fine

Floralnomad · 27/02/2021 18:15

Drive thru and eat in the car , we did that this morning for breakfast after my daughter had her covid jab . They also have nice McFlurrys at the moment .

KarensChoppyBob · 27/02/2021 18:16

Tbf that is a point. My best MCDs have been eaten in a car.

Ch3rish · 27/02/2021 18:17

@skipperjonce

It's macdonalds. It won't be edible 20 seconds after purchase.
Why? What will happen to it, I can't think of anything that would render it inedible so I'm going to conclude that you think you're somehow superior to people who like fast food.

I don't care for it myself but I'm not a knob so don't feel the need to belittle those who do like it.

BertieBotts · 27/02/2021 18:17

We live 20 minutes away from ours. It's OK, but the chips will be soggy and lukewarm. That said, normal chips survive this better than whatever fancy chips - curly fries, wedges, etc that they have. Although if they are wedges then you can reheat them in the oven if you wanted to.

Make sure you get all the burgers freshly made by requesting a small change for each one, like no tomato, no cheese, no onion, extra burger, etc. Helps them not be stone cold.

If you have a seat heater or insulated bag (great idea!) use that.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 27/02/2021 18:18

Just microwave it

Cindy87 · 27/02/2021 18:19

Do you have an air fryer? If so, the chips could go in there, they come out as good as new. Nuggets too. Burgers fair very well in the microwave but obvs wouldn't work for anything with mayo.

CoastAlong · 27/02/2021 18:21

I microwave the burger for one minute and it's much better than when you eat it "fresh" from the place. They're never hot when you get them. Much better microwaved, even 3 hours later.

greyspottedgoose · 27/02/2021 18:21

I always buy a 'later burger' when I go to McDonald's, double cheeseburger I warm later on, never reheated the chips though

MrsDThomas · 27/02/2021 18:40

Its not edible in the “restaurant “ let alone driving home with it🤢

Cosmos45 · 27/02/2021 18:42

Decent food sometimes gets better with age - shite food needs to be consumed rapidly..

Abraxan · 27/02/2021 18:44

What will happen to it that makes it so inedible? Compared to a different form of take away?

I really don't get the whole McDonald's snobbery these days?

If I've got a McDonald's Fillet o' fish craving then I'm afraid I'd be driving there - odd that just a couple of weeks ago infact. Deliberately went to a supermarket a bit further away as I knew there was one next door.

Enjoyed every bite!

Cosmos45 · 27/02/2021 18:46

@Abraxan - can I ask what your much loved McDonalds tasted like? I am only asking because last time I had one about 11 years ago it literally tasted of nothing. It was the oddest sensation.

KenAdams · 27/02/2021 18:46

You can drive 30 mins to collect a take away. Less risky than driving 30 mins to the supermarket.

Sparklingbrook · 27/02/2021 18:47

Ooh no it'll be all sweaty and luke warm. I don't think the microwave makes it any less sweaty. McFlurrys would be pourable.

I don't allow eating in my car and certainly not Maccys. Blush We would have to go in DH's to do that, but I still don't like eating in the car.

We did go and get a breakfast a few weeks ago but it was borderline cold/sweaty when we got home.
