Alison Hammond is out of her depth, isn't she? Painful to watch

Hi,

Just checking it isn't just me.

I don't dislike Alison at all! She's done some fantastic interviews, but she just can't present, not to this level, so why did she get the Friday This Morning gig?

Watching through my fingers. Dermot isn't much better, but he can just about read an autocue at least!

Did I read that Philip Scofield pushed for her to get the job? I suspect just to get Ruth and Eamon out.

Totally agree,loved her celeb interviews,but it’s almost like everything else is a joke.she can’t take anything seriously. And I find the pair of them quite disrespectful towards the guests.Don’t bother with Fridays now.Loved half term with Ruth and Eamonn

I think she’s just lively. Others like HP are so blah blah you can predict their every giggle, reaction, interruption, they don’t even need any guests or sidekicks to present things.

I agree, she constantly mispronounes things/stumbles over her words.

She also giggles constantly and was rude to Michael Mosley today.
I only had it on in the background while I was cooking but was shocked at how bad she was.

I love Alison and when she did bits and pieces for TM she was hilarious but as a main presenter there's something not quite right. She's not her usual happy self. Nerves are playing a part I think and she must read what people are saying about her. Dermot is a bit flat and humourless so they don't really bounce off each other. I'd quite like to see what Alison would be like with someone different ... Gino maybe Grin

I think they’re both great.

Much better than Eamon and Ruth who were not only bland and boring but you had Eamon being rude to the majority of guests.

Love Alison. But she may need time to relax into presenting a whole show.

Cannot stand Ruth and Eamon. I always felt like I was sat in their marriage mediation sessions instead of watching a tv show.

He's so rude to her and not much batter with guests.

Couldn't stand her on celebs go dating. She was horrid to a man about his teeth, I really felt for him.
I think behind the jolly act she's actually a bit of a prick

I can't stand Allison's presenting style. Almost as bad as Davina McCall. Way too loud and chaotic for me. Dermot is dull as ditchwater. Still, so long as quotas are being met...

She’s just got more energy than other presenters, when I watch her I instantly feel in a better mood, it’s infectious and I absolutely love her laugh. As much as I love dermot I think her and josie would be amazing. Although I could see how 5hat would go down 😂

I would choose Eamonn and Ruth as the main presenters and try Live & Kicking's Emma Forbes & Andi Peters out as the Fridays/holiday presenters.

Agree I think that Emma Forbes / Sara Greene and Andi Peters would be great on a Friday and during holidays Alison should stick to light hearted interviews. Dermot is terrible Eamon can be a bit of a prat, but I prefer him and Ruth to Phil and Holly.. I actually enjoyed This Morning last week when Phil and Holly were away

I would prefer it if Ruth and Eamonn had kept their Friday slot.

Alison and Dermot don't work for me, too cringy to watch.

I would like to see Marvin and Rochelle instead, replacing one of Phil and Holly's days (I don't watch them).

I'd love to see more of Sara Greene. Remember her from Blue Peter in the 80s and saw her on something more recently and thought she was still good and deserved to be seen more!

I don't watch it any more and have always found Alison Hammond irritating and really poor, which is a shame as I'd love to see a larger woman doing the job well and succeeding against other mainstream presenters rather than making a clown of herself.
Alison Hammond is the Dido Harding of presenting, she fails upwards!

Alison is so irritating, I haven’t watched it on Fridays since Eamonn and Ruth left. Phillip Scofield is smug, arrogant, rude and as a pp said, peevish. I have to look away when he does that stupid dance to the Spin to Win music with his mouth open. Holly’s ditzy routine is so tedious. She can’t be as dim as she pretends, surely and all that giggling .... aarghhhh

Eamon and Ruth were way better, they had a great rapport.
I also love Rylan and Ruth!!!

Loathe Phil and Holly at this point, he seems thoroughly nasty and self centred and she is just the wrong side of happy ...ie. smug
