What does your life revolve around?

Just talking to my OH and he said how our lives revolve around food more than anything else... When asked what it could be he said a hobby, exercising etc.

We have a DC so obviously she comes first. But am I the only one to think my life probably does revolve around food otherwise?!

What does your life revolve around?

I do work part time, study full time and am a healthy weight so there's no health issues/laziness issues - I don't think. But I don't have a 'hobby'

What's for lunch?

bjjgirl · 25/02/2021 14:06

As a family sport and exercise- we all compete at contact sports and train to keep fit together. Plus walking dogs etc.

kleew1 · 25/02/2021 14:12

Haha @katy1213 I had left over pasta bolognaise which we argued over who was having. So then made a fish finger wrap for OH. Hardly Michelin star/edible WinkGrin

Dinner is chicken and chorizo stew though!

It used to be our four dogs (hence my username Grin) but we're down to just one now. Our lives tend to revolve around what we're going to have for tea, my DH starts ruminating about that as soon as he wakes up in the morning.

The cat

You could try going on strike - and when he asks where his chicken stew is tonight, say your life has started revolving around something else. Mumsnet - Covid googling - thinking very hard about decluttering - whatever turns you on and is readily available.

Telly

optimistic40 · 25/02/2021 14:21

It doesn't revolve around any one thing, and definitely not food. I get bored with meal prep, especially with fussy children.

I have hobbies / interests which include learning a language, yoga, art.

Chewingle · 25/02/2021 14:22

Children children children

Exercise

Being outside

No hobbies as such but keen runner and yogi

flappityflippers1 · 25/02/2021 14:23

As soon as I read the title my first thought was “cake!”

Chachachachachachachachanges · 25/02/2021 14:24

Right now - definitely food. What’s for lunch, what’s for dinner. Who’s going to the shop

NaughtyTortie · 25/02/2021 14:24

if today is anything to go by it revolves around wiki-ing the cast of Frasier.

AgeLikeWine · 25/02/2021 14:24

Wake
Shower
Breakfast
Work
Lunch
Walk
Work
Dinner
Telly
Bed
Repeat ad infinitum.

I’m sick of bloody covid.

bloodywhitecat · 25/02/2021 14:32

Fostering and DP's cancer, it is nowhere near all doom and gloom though even though we are currently writing down all the stuff I need to know when he dies (his cancer has a 0% survival rate in fact 3 out of 4 die between diagnosis and the onset of treatment)

The Cat
and work
Cat rules the roost.

Sleepingdogs12 · 25/02/2021 14:36

My first thought was the washing !

WreckTangled · 25/02/2021 14:36

My diabetes, I think about it every minute that I'm awake and make hundreds of different decisions about it a day.

My children
Work (redeployment/changed hours etc otherwise under usual circumstances it wouldn't revolve around it).

Douchebaggette · 25/02/2021 14:38

What time I'm walking the dog.
What time I'm getting back from walking the dog.
What time I'm going back out with the dog.
What time I'm coming back.
What's for tea.

Repeat.

CoodleMoodle · 25/02/2021 14:44

The DC (6 and 2). Getting DS to preschool, getting DD to school (normally), feeding them, bedtime, refereeing the many arguments, hiding from them for two minutes peace... All day, every day.

I've been a SAHM for 7 years. It might be getting to me, a bit. A week and a half, and DD will be back to school. 9 precious childfree hours a week. Maybe I'll be able to miss them, then.

bjjgirl · 25/02/2021 14:45

Non COVID times we train every night and compete monthly which takes the weekend up, during COVID we've started running/ walking more as we struggle staying in

zeddybrek · 25/02/2021 14:45

Food.

Buying it.
Making it.
Feeding it to the small child.
Eating myself.
Cleaning it up.
Or mentally thinking about one of the above.
Meal planning.

This takes up nearly all my day and I really am fed up of it!

Isababybel · 25/02/2021 14:53

My 6month old, washing pots and laundry.

bellropes · 25/02/2021 14:54

The cats 🙄

NaughtyTortie · 25/02/2021 14:56

TBH what i WANT my life to revolve around is making my home and family happy, content, emotionally nourished and to foster great relationships with friends and family. Plus to have some fun.

But I am fucking knackered right now.
