If you were a little bit more well off ...

What would you treat yourself to regularly?

I'm not talking about the super rich, winning the lottery etc. Just being in a situation where you were very comfortable and didn't have to worry about money.

I'd :

  • have Sunday dinner out every week
  • purchase nice skincare that you'd get in spas. I used to work in a spa and had loads of freebies and miss it loads.
  • pedicures
  • Naice candles
  • a cleaner to do the jobs I hate doing ..skirting boards, wiping down doors.

One can dream Grin

A cleaner and a gardener

Reinventinganna · 24/02/2021 11:49

I probably could afford a cleaner but I’m really embarrassed of the mess Grin Blush

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 24/02/2021 11:51

Cleaner and gardener.

Mabelface · 24/02/2021 11:52

A housekeeper and a holiday each year. Not been on holiday since 2005.

Timeforabiscuit · 24/02/2021 11:54

When we got a bit more well off;

  • got a cleaner!
  • shopped at ocado
  • got a regular (once a quarter) massage
  • did more expensive family day trips/ activities every other week (kayaking, trampoline park etc)
  • bought decent winter coats
  • bought more than 2 pairs of shoes of the same "type" i.e. gym trainers, smart boots
  • shopped at next rather than supermarket for clothes.
MysweetAudrina · 24/02/2021 11:55

I'm in a comfortable position atm and do regularly treat myself to some of the items on your list such as skincare, candles and pedicures. The Sunday dinner and cleaner are not things that I currently spend money on but I do have a subscription to a yoga studio which is the best money I have spent.

If was even more comfortable I would probably attend yoga retreats a few times a year and spend money outside the sale on sweaty Betty yoga gear.

I would also do more around the house. Saving for a new kitchen atm. Same kitchen as when we moved in over 20 years ago but I would get it done sooner if I had more money to save.

Probably go on more luxury holidays too.

Flickoffboris · 24/02/2021 11:55

I've just returned to work from mat leave and I've splurged on:
Weekly cleaner for 2 hours
Weekly Gousto box for 4 meals per week
The difference in my life is astounding

SillyOldMummy · 24/02/2021 12:02

I'd join my local gym. I'd get my hair cut professionally more than once a year. I'd buy decent quality jeans and trainers. I'd buy myself a new bicycle.

purplecorkheart · 24/02/2021 12:05

I think I would get a company to re organised, put in lots and lots of storage in my house and hire a part time housekeeper.

doubleleopardy · 24/02/2021 12:06

Cleaner.
More regular hair appointments.
Regular facials and other beauty treatments.
Probably meal boxes.
Dog groomer weekly for a good brush and monthly for the full works.

Basically, I'd like to check out of all the boring and time consuming shit I have to do.

Shodan · 24/02/2021 12:06

I'd get a gardener.

And go on more holidays.

Meredithgrey1 · 24/02/2021 12:07

Cleaner and gardener.

Muskox · 24/02/2021 12:09

I'd love to have a couple of nights away with DH in a really nice hotel every year.

Iveputmyselfonthenaughtystep · 24/02/2021 12:09

Cleaner, gardener, fresh cut flower subscription every fortnight, gum membership, regular massage appt, regular hair and beauty appointments, high end ready meals a couple of nights a week, nicer car

Timeforabiscuit · 24/02/2021 12:09

Ah missed off simply cook - bloody game changer that one! DH now does the meal planning as it's point and click.

Grew up with a weekly meal plan which deviated only in what kind of sausage you might get in the Saturday casserole :)

Hazelmazel · 24/02/2021 12:10

We are well off enough not to have to think about spending money and that's enough of a treat to be honest. Being able to just buy whatever, in actual fact we don't splurge on anything much really. We overpay our mortgage and put loads in savings. So boring!
I'd bloody love a cleaner but they are so hard to find.

Bunnybigears · 24/02/2021 12:10

A cleaner and family membership to the local health club.

EvilPea · 24/02/2021 12:10

Pre chopped veg in the freezer for cooking with and pre grated cheese

ExplodingCarrots · 24/02/2021 12:12

We love simply cook here. The Thai green curry is the best.

It would seem cleaner and gardener tops the lists Grin We would never have a gardener , DH actually enjoys pottering around the garden and he'd wouldn't be able sit back and let someone else take over.

You've just reminded me. I've always wanted to go to the Corinthia in London , especially to visit the Espa spa..so I'm adding that to the list.

I'd go to a proper demeratologist regularly.

GoodQueenAlysanne · 24/02/2021 12:13

*dermatologist

NutellaEllaElla · 24/02/2021 12:13

I'd work less

MegaClutterSlut · 24/02/2021 12:13

I would get a cleaner, gardener, get my nails and a family meal out once a week

MegaClutterSlut · 24/02/2021 12:14

*get my nails done regularly

LApprentiSorcier · 24/02/2021 12:15

Echoing everyone else - 1. cleaner, 2. gardener.
