Awww look at her eating her little salad!

Agree with pp about flocking being in the next thread title- maybe ‘ADs frock up and flock into spring with a fling!’ Grin

NeedWineNow · 28/02/2021 14:13

There were lots of people flocking in Tonbridge yesterday, buying coffees and wandering along by the river and in the park - it was lovely to see.

In anticipation of lovely weather, and the tantalising prospect of being able to get to Greece later this year, I have had a hit on the Matalan website and bought swimwear, t shirts and a playsuit, all reduced. I only went on to get a laundry bin 😁.

Yep, she eats a bit when she has fresh stuff every day, then I leave the remains in there for her to have a nibble on if she fancies it. It dries up quite a bit due to the heat lamp and heat mat but that's good for them as it has more concentrated protein then. The food dish is the lid of a jam jar, she's that tiny she can stand in it and not touch the sides! Love her.

I once went to town to get some potatoes, bought an evening dress and matching handbag as well!
BogRollBOGOF · 28/02/2021 14:35

I wore a frock last night. Actually, more of a little black dress, but a dress nonetheless. It was for a zoom party which was really good. The group was a sensible size and we all know each other very well, so not the awkwardness that you can get with that format.

NeedWineNow · 28/02/2021 14:46

@Curlygirl06. I've done something similar (without the potatoes) - I went to TK Maxx to get a nightie and some gym leggings, and came out with neither, but I did have a fake fur coat!

DWPmisery1972 · 28/02/2021 14:56

I’m loving all the exciting anticipation! I hope you get your getaway @NeedWineNow, matalan is great for holiday bits.

Dunno if anyone gets takeaways in the AD community (Grin) But I got an ad for a newer website called ‘food hub’ that does food delivery and theyre doing 10% off loads of local takeaways at the mo plus they have a £3 discount code (FOODHUBNEW)- I promise I don’t work for them 😂 I just like 1. Takeaway and 2. Saving money Wine

DWPmisery1972 · 28/02/2021 14:57

@Curlygirl06 she’s such a cutie Flowers

DWPmisery1972 · 28/02/2021 14:58

That sounds fun @BogRollBOGOF! Last time I wore a dress it was at the magistrates ConfusedHmm

LivinLaVidaLoki · 28/02/2021 15:19

Just been out for a lovely walk in the sunshine and an ice cream. This shit is so much easier to cope with when it's sunny.

Though there were a lot of people out who were just complaining about people being out, which I thought was very odd and I'm irrationally feeling my blood pressure going at all the talk of "flocking" and extending lockdown.

MrsDeaconClaybourne · 28/02/2021 15:39

Lots of complaining where I live about people being out by people who are out. Hmm

I've been making an effort to dress up for work since half term. The KW children have been in none uniform which I've used as an excuse to live in hoodies and leggings- not least as it's been so cold. Back in uniform now and I was dreading being out of my comfies. Think it was a bit like a comfort blanket to be honest. But I'm actually quite enjoying thinking what to wear and get out stuff that's been in the wardrobe for a while. I even wore heels one day!

@MrsDeaconClaybourne I can't wait until I start wearing make up and nice work clothes again. How ridiculous is that.
BogRollBOGOF · 28/02/2021 15:57

We finally moved into our bedroom in Dec 19 after a very long-winded project which involved moving walls and windows. So all my clothes finally made it in to one room. So much went into the wardrobes and hasn't been touched since! Some things like work wear and special occasion outfits just aren't getting opportunity for use at this stage of life anyway, but they're staple styles and fit, so they're worth holding on to. But the smarter end of casual that you'd wear to the pub or visit family hasn't been touched either. I can't see me rushing back to clothes shops later this year, it'll be too much novelty re-discovering what I already had!

TheOrchidKiller · 28/02/2021 17:13

Waving at @NeedWineNow.
I know the town by the river you describe very well, although I am nowhere near there now. It is pretty in the sunshine.

BogRollBOGOF · 28/02/2021 18:32

There's been a Pokemon raid event today, so we've been walking gym to gym with other pokemoners. Everyone spaced out sensibly in their own household clusters. Lots of people were out in the sunshine anyway so it didn't look too suss Wink

I caught a shiny arcticuno Grin

Local paper is whipping up the scowling curtain twitchers by scandalising over familes legally going to a park for some sunshine. The message clearly isn't out that outdoor transmission is near negligable if people are not in close contact or have not been in an enclosed place together judging by the predictable judging in the comments!

110APiccadilly · 28/02/2021 18:33

I've just realised I'd happily go to a restaurant which served food on chopping boards, roof tiles, slates, etc, as long as I could actually go there. And we never even used to eat out much.

What have I become?

ISaySteadyOn · 28/02/2021 19:00

I don't mind people playing loud music at 10 at night any more. So you are not alone.

We want signs of life and some of those signs are people being annoying. Like Lt Cmdr Data when he had an emotion chip installed, went to the bar, ordered a drink and we had this exchange:

Data: I... It's revolting! I hate this!
Guinan: More?
Data: Yes, please.

I feel like that when I hear or see things that used to annoy me.

I was in the supermarket earlier and there was a little boy whizzing down the aisles on his scooter. I'd had probably tutted previously but it made me smile today at him enjoying himself. He was part of a whole family shopping together as well!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 28/02/2021 19:05

Today is indeed a joyous day. There is a flouting/flocking thread and it's a joy to behold.

Noticeably different to last summer. Yay.

justasking111 · 28/02/2021 19:13

Neighbors birthday today, three couples
We sat on the pavement, eating nibbles and birthday cake washed down with prosecco. A jolly bunch in the sunshine, came in quite tipsy, fell asleep on sofa. Feeling quite sick now 😃

smallandimperfectlyformed · 28/02/2021 19:14

You have indeed ISaySteadyOn, I have no clue what that is a reference to Grin! However I get the gist of what he is saying and I agree. I can't wait for so many things, including the annoying crowd of secondary school kids taking over the pavement!

MrsEWeatherwax · 28/02/2021 19:31

The tortoise is so cute.
I love Star Trek.
On the local Facebook page for the park, there is a post from someone complaining about people not social distancing at park. But she has had COVID and been to park for three days running! How can you complain about people being at the park if you are at park. Surely you are part of problem. Plus it’s been lovely here, this time last year it was bloody snowing.

MrsEWeatherwax · 28/02/2021 19:38

Was listening to a Podcast today about the plague(laugh a minute in this house). And DH said that was interesting and it puts COVID in perspective.

Star Trek: The Next Generation. I binge watched it when pregnant with DD1.
