If you are vegetarian, what do you order from the Chinese?

We are having Chinese tonight and I am stuck in a rut. What do you like?

Stir fried bean curd in garlic and black bean sauce with vegetables

It’s pretty boring - egg fried rice and vegetable spring rolls!

Mock duck with pancakes etc 😋

I don't think I've ever had beancurd (is it like tofu - never eaten that either?).

Our local restaurant does a lot of beancurd based recipes, including in garlic and black bean sauce.

DH goes for a veggie noodle dish like Chow Mein or Pad Thai.

Do they not do tofu dishes?

Veg Chow mein, veg in black bean sauce, sweet and sour veg

DH is veggie and he often ordets tofu jillyien and bean curd with rice or soft noodles and if really hungry either spring rolls starter or banana fritters desert.

My local Chinese does an AMAZING aubergine in chilli sauce as well.

My fave is szchuan tofu with fried rice and salt and pepper chips, veggie spring rolls on the side as well but I have to save half for the next day

Vegetables and tofu/ beancurd in szechuan sauce is my current favourite

They do. Like I said, I've never eaten tofu. They do lots of bean curd based stuff with various sauces, usual options with tofu, lots of szechuan options, some Thai dishes. I've just not eaten Chinese for a very long time and I always end up with chow mein. I want to try something else.

Im not veggie but often order mushroom foo yong and also love mushroom curry. Pineapple and tomato dishes are also really nice.

I'm not veggie but love either the mushroom or vegetable fried rice from our local Chinese takeaway, especially with a portion of their curry sauce and some chips.

Fish fragrant aubergine (no fish in it!), morning glory/greens in XO sauce, dumplings, vegetarian mapo tofu

I love crispy chilli beancurd and I'm not a veggie, it's much nicer than the beef version.

I’m so boring, I always get vegetable chow mein, vegetable spring rolls and a side of curry sauce to dip them in. Certainly not healthy or inspiring! Lol

Bean curd is tofu.

I usually have mushroom foo yung and egg fried rice or sweet and sour bean curd. Mock duck pancakes too.

A chinese takeaway near me does vegetarian fake prawn balls which I really want to try!
