Time for a new game of Mornington Crescent

It's time to begin a new game and I better not make the mistake of playing the closed stations rule in zone 1 again, which led to the win by @WalkingInTheAir13. To have a winner after only three and a half months is quite rare this century.

So I shall begin outside zone 1 for once, starting at Tooting Broadway, the first game I have ever joined to start south of the river.

British Summer Time has started so to

Wimbledon Park

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 28/03/2021 08:33

Despite the possible mistake of the Jerry Springer rule (it is one to Finchley Central, unless you are playing the version based on his birth date when the Northern line only went to East Finchley) it seems we have a good group of players here.

A short move to Wimbledon.

wizzler · 28/03/2021 09:16

Even allowing for BST its 24 hours since this game started, which means I think I can plump for Euston

DuckonaBike · 28/03/2021 09:25

Happy British Summer Time everyone!

I’m feeling creative, so a Morris Loop to Acton Central.

againandagainoncemore · 28/03/2021 09:58

I am thinking of the Hitch vs Williams game (1984) whereby a pirouette was employed and allowed.

Therefore that takes us to Tooting

Alcides · 28/03/2021 10:09

Trying to decipher Great Uncle Reginald’s diary. A bit tricky what with the shaky writing from the DTs and the dubious stains. I suspect elephant dung. Anyhow he’d have challenged any form of the Jerry Springer rule as there are 31 days in March.

Be that as it may, diagonal slither to

Green Park

againandagainoncemore · 28/03/2021 10:16

Won't that allow the beagle correlation to be used?

I think so.

Therefore it's off to Bank

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 28/03/2021 10:25

I think we need the former lines rule to come into place (so travelling via the old branch of the Northern line that ran to Finsbury Park) and onwards to Seven Sisters.

00100001 · 28/03/2021 13:18

Kentish Town

Alcides · 28/03/2021 17:53

Oooh that means I can call a Mind the Gap bye under rule 42

Edgeware Road

wizzler · 28/03/2021 19:38

Nicely done @Alcides

Old street

dohdohdoh · 28/03/2021 20:06

Good challenge @Alcides hope the smells of elephant dung on Uncle Reginald's diary aren't too strong. Unlike @wizzler 's move to Old Street. Although now it's past 8:06pm on a Sunday it does open up the grand serviette manoeuvre which should see us too Goldhawk Road

00100001 · 28/03/2021 20:19

Majestic plays!

Upper Transverse and Switch to Gloucester Road, this invoking the Towns & Cities Rules.

Which, naturally, I don't need to explain, as there was only just a clarification posted last week about the Fifteenth Rule.

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 28/03/2021 20:32

I think that a move to Hyde Park Corner seems best at this time on a Sunday night.

DuckonaBike · 28/03/2021 20:42

Good move Cuthbert, after Binary’s rather daring play. Let’s de-escalate further with a lateral to High Street Kensington.

00100001 · 28/03/2021 20:43

Well, I did have to check you weren't breaking the Town's & Cities Rules. I sorry I doubted you.

For the presumption, I shall miss a turn as penance..

Alcides · 28/03/2021 21:08

Thank you for asking @dohdohdoh. Sadly the smell of elephant dung is somewhat overpowering and the cats are nowhere to be found since we unpacked the diaries.

This is a baptism of fire, in awe at the standard of play. Going to risk the alternative version of the Towns and Cities rule so please be kind

South Kensington

againandagainoncemore · 28/03/2021 21:54

I'm having such a nice time on this game. Well done all.

I have checked the Ogden Scale and will expedite a triple back to Acton

Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow · 28/03/2021 21:56

i'm feeeling devil may care tonight so....
{evil laigh]

.....Dollis Hill!!

00100001 · 28/03/2021 22:50

Dollis Hill?! What japes!

Following a station beginning iwth D and what with it being a Full Moon and in Lent, the Metropolitan Line must be used... but the tide is rising and I'm a Virgo... sooo... that means the Metropolitan line shouldn't be used... which leave me in a bit of a pickle.

Hmm.
Ah.

I wonder...

... yes! it's the 28th of a month beginning with 'M' which allows the free move to Wembley Central

DuckonaBike · 29/03/2021 12:15

Some very impressive play since I last looked. I hope it’s all right if I make the Williams Memorial Move

Great Portland Street

Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow · 29/03/2021 12:33

Hang on a minute ..

Are we playing by the Clancy Smith variant rules??

If so, i'll do a loop round and stop at Leicester square.

Alcides · 29/03/2021 13:12

Exciting times - left great uncle Reginald’s diaries outside to air and nothing left this morning but a few shreds of leather binding. The under gardener found puma prints in the haha so those tabloid big cat stories must be true. Now we’ve fortified the henhouse I’ve had time to think. Nearly blocked by @Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow clever move but the Belgravia protocol lets me past to

Barking

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 29/03/2021 13:52

I think I have to play the London Overground rule as the only way to proceed given the moves up the east end of the District line over the weekend. Together with the interchange rule that enables a move to Leyton.

againandagainoncemore · 29/03/2021 16:18

It's getting tense as we enter the 5th level within with Brondenburg variant.

This leads to the obvious choice which is Temple
